    Oh my gosh, this is exactly what I was wishing for! Not to diminish the usefulness of the previously available tools, but y'all gotta admit that placing support enforcers is cumbersome on complex models. So happy to see the tools constantly getting better

      @@Theluxuss01 Yes, but it could have been implemented better. And since S3D is now completely dead (I'm assuming), it makes sense to do the transition to a different slicer.

      @@tinkerduck1373 I only still use it because I’m so proficient with it, but I find myself using PrusaSlicer more and more. There are so many things it does better, up until now support generation wasn’t one of them. The next version (if it ever comes out) of S3D is going to have to be revolutionary or it’s going to fail immediately.

      @@matthewlaberge Probably, if there is any future S3D version at all. One question: Is it possible in prusa slicer to print 1- 2- layer dual extrusion supports?
      E.g. printing the object in PLA and most of the support; only 1-2 layers of the expensive PVA (just enough to remove the support)?

    The clipping is an incredible feature. So many times I've struggled on other slicers to orient the model in just the right angle so I can click on the part I wanted to support!

    I print on a Sidewinder X1 and forums continually say I should switch to cura but it’s features like these that are the reason I haven’t even thought about it! Great work Prusa!!

    I dont know if I just didnt notice before.. but there is a Gcode viewer now.. I am beyond excited for this.. I have no idea how many Gcodes I have and cant properly view them on the "free software" out there.. the update for the slicer is awesome as well!
    I love it!

    Another great video by Prusa 3D. Just got my mini the other day. I have four others from various brands and so far, I wish I had more Prusa printers as I like this little printer so far and will eventually get another as I make a little more money. You guys have put a lot of personal touches to include the gummy bears. I am happy to join the cult following.

    You guys are awesome. I have been waiting for an improvement to the supports. With this feature, I might not ever need to use Simplify3D again, since I only used it when I needed to print supports. Thank you for all your hard work on the PrusaSlicer. Greatly appreciate it.

    I'm slowly switching back and forth between PrusaSlicer and Cura and tbh, I really want to use PrusaSlicer more if it wasn't for a few missing features or improvements. I'd love an update to the support logic as I think Cura has this one down much better than what PrusaSlicer does, it would also be nice to see different support generation options similar to tree supports. Continue the great work guys and I'm looking forward to what you do bring next

    That is amazing! Maybe one day this tool can be used with MMU2S printers so a user can essentially paint a color onto an stl?!

      Stl doesn't provide that much informations. It has only vertices information.

    Looks well thought and easy to use. You did a great job here. Im looking forward to use that feature a lot.
    -Maybe you can add a square brush for more technical usages rather than artistic ones.

    Very useful feature, seems more intuitive than drag in and position seeval cubes or cylinder to customize supports. Anyway it would be a clever idea to add symmetrical painting like switched on per default in blender sculpt mode.

      Not to mention that we did implement tree supports over a year ago for SLA printers.

    Even if you don't own a Prusa printer, the new features and the speed of implementation are just so much better than with the pricy alternative. I used S3D for many years, but the staggering development made me switch.

      Agreed. I feel like supports was one of the things that was holding prusaslicer back but with this new tool I don't really see many downsides. The only thing I would like to see if maybe tree supports similar to how Cura does it. There are the occasional times where tree supports are very handy. But looking forward to using this tool!

    Great feature! Please, make the same thing for seam position selection. It would make complex shapes look almost perfect, especially with silk/metallic PLA!

    One feature that ive only seen on one slicer is a cut tool. All slicers should have it. It helps with making 3d designs without having to try and work in fusion 360 or any other cad .. cut and paste flashforge is the only one i know have does that ive used it to muck about with models before printing.. its great for kit bashing ideas together instead of trying to make it in a 3d software which can be a pain to learn..

    You should adapt SLA tree support to FDM in a way one could support an area of the print without having the support to touch anything below that.

    Prusa and S3d: 100 settings. Includes custom supports.
    Cura: 100 settings. 9999 extra unused settings. Tree supports. 0 custom supports.

    Can you add angled supports, like from the chest of the chess piece to the chin, instead of from the print bed all the way up?

      @@alejandroperez5368 if you look at the support formation there is not only support from the print bed but also from the chest of the chess piece, if it was angled just from the chest piece and extended to the jaw edge then you would save a significant amount of support material and utilize half of the required support base.

      @@JoshTosh92 ... or you could angle it the other way so that supports don't touch the chest at all, giving you nicer surface finish.
      There are definitely lots of situations where angled supports can be useful.

      @@hannesgroesslinger true! For a piece like this that would make sense for a quality finish. Some parts the surface finish might not matter, but strength does. I have yet to see how to do this however. I haven’t tried to figure it out much yet though.

    Amazing app , the only shortcut I wish exist is to zoom in out with Alt+ middle mouse click , or right click , I use wacom tablet and I don't use scroll in the mouse and it is tedious to use the wacom wheel to zoom in and out

    Does anyone else have the problem that sometimes it just won't add the supports (yes, even with support enforcers option turned on)? It's only happened a couple of times for me, and only on certain models.

    This is brilliant, but we want tree supports.
