- A video on what to look for when buying an airbrush gun. Basic technical info is covered in this vid. Save your money and buy the nicer ones, the plastic ones are not as pricey BUT not durable.

such a pleasant, likable personality. I love how educational and good quality this channel is!
the most comprehensive concise and easy to understand Airbrush info I have ever watched. Thank u enkore. you have great skills in teaching and application. Kudos!
Ok, I’ve been watching all your old video’s and notice it’s been a long time since you’ve posted more. Your fantastic in the information you provide. Hope you know... we still need you!
I just wanna cry. I am soooo happy I finally found you Koren. I am a makeup artist and I really wanted to purchase an AB system and this video and comments answered all my questions!!. I wasted so much time searching for reviews.
I wish I had found you sooner!!
I was just going to buy an airbrush gun and your video helped me a lot! I didn't know much about these tools but now I know enough to buy one! Thank u! I like your vids! Keep up the great work!
This answered most of my questions as a beginner air brusher looking for the right brush gun. Thanks for the vid and being so explanitory.
i have used both 109 and 187. I really liked the way the 187 stippled it and made it look more flawless looking. I love 109 with cream foundations tho, specially if you want an airbrushed look using cream foundations.
hey mnelson - yes you will need to dilute regular liquid foundation to a milk consistency. Most regular foundations are too thick to go through an airbrush. Its the way its Misted on the skin that gives it that airbrushed distinction. Most companies only carry airbrush foundation in the Pro line as there are not a lot of home-users that owns airbrush systems yet.
hi Evie - Mac sells Airbrush Foundation. You can use regular foundation, you just need to dilute it to a MILK consistency using a mixing medium. 60/40 ratio is recommended by MAC (60% foundation, 40% mixing medium).
hey Sonia - I dont wear makeup reguarly. Mostly when Im on stage when Im in a Broadway production. I just do it here in my tutorials for TH-cam to show people how to do certain looks. I am a pro makeup artist, so I hope that explains why I have a lot of makeup.
You are the best. Speaking straight forward with highly valuable information. Wish I had you as a teacher in highschool!
hey beanpie - I have a video on makeup brushes vs artist brushes, and yes, they are great for makeup too. Pretty much you can use any makeup bursh for minerals. Natural fibers are great with powders, and synthetics are ideal for liquids and creams.
yeah a compressor is needed for the gun. I have a video on the compressor. check it out :)
hi Kenya - definitly check out the theatrical brands like Ben Nye and Kryolan, they have TATOO COVER they cover scars and birthmarks too, these are used on celebrities for film and such. It will also help to use a makeup Sealer, and both those brand have great sealers. For airbrushing, Temptu have airbrush product designed specifically for covering tatoos and scars.
if you're going to take Airbrush seriously later on, i suggest to go for the Smartjet. Might cost a little more, but the bells and whistles are worth having when youre ready to take AB a step, and more steps further.
hey laysea - yes, airbrush systems are super expensive. The foundation is not that expensive, and with airbrush, you pretty much use any liquid foundation by diluting with mixing medium to a Milk consistency.
hi Maria - I really like Temptu S/B line, its light, gentle and really does long due to its base. Others that are waterbased doesnt last as much. You can also check out theatrical grade makeup line like Ben Nye and Kyolan. They even have products geared for dermatological imperfections, scar cover, melanoma, birthmarks, rocasea. Im sure you will find something there that will suit your patients.
YAY!! Your videos are so informative! LOVE THEM!!
I'm glad i found your video... the information you give is very valuable for beginners like me. You are the best!
the best I have worked with so far is Temptu S/B line. You can matte it down using plain powder if you dont like shine. But it covers a lot of imperfections and the most longwearing I have used by far.
Airbrush Foundation is recommended as it is already formulated to the consistency ideal for airbrushing. You can use regular liquid foundation, but you will have to thin it out to a MILK consistency using a mixing medium.
hey spoofy - no I would use a skin moistruizer with SPF, not foundation with SPF, so that wau the moisturizer and foundation gets absorbed by the skin. Then apply the airbrushed foundation.
hey edilynann - you might want to check out the art supply companies in UAE, even online stores there. You might want to check out the IWATA-MEDEA website as well and see if there are retailers in UAE.
hey missay - if you are planning to reuse the prosthetics later with another look, its ideal to use just regular waterbase paint - just in case you decide to change color and such. Now if you are applying the prosthetics to the face then painting it, definitely avoid using alcohol based ones.
I am so glad I found your videos. I was given an Iwata eclipse airbrush but it uses the the little bottle at the bottom instead of the cup thingy on top. I haven't used it yet because I don't have a compressor. I intend to make my own makeup after watching your other video. Thank you for posting these videos!
hey nrstheezy - its pretty much the same system, just the guns differ depending on what you are going to do. Nail art requires really fine nozzled airgun, and of course spray tanning would require a larger nozzled airgun.
Hi!! Thank you so much for all your airbrush videos. I am a makeup artist just starting off in the industry and I really wanna get into airbrush makeup and all your videos on airbrushing really helps!!!!
Yaaaay, I've been waiting for a video like this, thanks Koren! Fabulous new music & intro/outro by the way :)
Ive seen the infomercial for it. I will have to check it up close and personal at a trade show somewhere. For now, again, I personally think its a lot of money for a home system. You can get pro systems like I featured for much less.
GREAT INFORMATION! Again, I am getting one for my scale model painting (cars, airplanes, etc) and your videos are the best I have found even though your a make up artist LOL! Thanks for the help! BTW, my stepdaughter is getting into makeup and was asking about using an airbrush system. She wants to be a make up artist so i'll point her to your videos! Shes 15 and really loves anything to do with make up.
thin it down by using a mixing medium. It should be about consistency of milk so it will flow nicely on your airgun.
@silviarigel It's actually cheaper in the long run to get an airbrush like the Iwata shown in the video along with an Iwata compressor and then buy Temptu foundation in bottles from the Tempu Pro online store. The foundation is MUCH cheaper this way because the bottle lasts a lot longer than the foundation pods that you have to use with the Sephora Temptu unit. The unit at Sephora is also predominantly plastic and has a very tiny compressor that probably won't last too long.
Fantastic Koren. Thanks so much for this video which provides information on product and supplier.
hey nadia - tell him to use Mineralized powder matte - it will cover the redness and look the most natural. I suggest using a face primer first, so that way the powder really adheres to the skin.
This was really helpful! Thank you-I look for your other videos!
liked EnKore from the 1rst time. .love watching.knows his stuff.love it
Koren, you are so knowledgeable about anything related to makeup! I speak for all of us when I say thanks for sharing. :)
btw, your new intro music reminds me of Disneyland for some reason. hehe.
hey makeupartist2be - most video editing software have an add TEXT option. Depending on the software you are using, you might want to find Video making instructions here on TH-cam. Just seach it out on the seach box. I use Sony Vegas, and I learned it by watching TH-camrs that do those kind of tutorials.
check with your local Artist supply stores. They will most likely carry airbrushing equipment.
you are so detailed!!! you are really the best!
That was amazingly informative! Thanks!
I have the exact same airbrush gun. It's the best. Great vid!
love it! i would love down the line if you did a look using the airbrush to see what it looks like!
yes ive seen on TV and I actually got to play with it during the IMATS show in LA. I thought it was expensive for a small system, and I didnt like that you cant really control the air flow. There will be AB videos, I still have to edit, just trying to feel better for surgery, then i will edit more vids.
Yes, you can mix 2 shades in the cup.
time well spent. Thank you. That was pretty informative
hey gurl- Yes, there is a needle included in the initial purchase.
I love your intro!!
Hi Koren! I've been wanting to purchase an airbrush gun but haven't because I didn't know what would work best. Now I know! Will you do a video to show us how to use the airbrush gun with foundation? Congrats on becoming a YT partner!!!
you put airbrush foundation. you can also use regular foundation, but you water it down with mixing medium as regular foundation are too thick. You can do bronzers, eyeshadows, eyeliners, blush, mascara using airbrush.
silicone based airbrush makeup will. water based will just melt off in really humid weather.
I was thinking about getting an airbrush. TY so much!!
i know i was waiting to hear your theme song too.. hehe.. it totally reminds me of you.. but still it was a great vid koren!! loved it.. and keep up the good work..
Thanks so much for your information! You are awesome!
Thank you for your vid!! You are so sweet and helpful. I have the TEMPTU airbrush system and love it for my personal makeup, but am thinking about "upgrading" to MAC's....
thanks for such an informative video, i think i might buy one :)
it takes a little practice, but yes you can airbrush on yourself - most just airbrush foundation tho, as that is the easiest of all application.
hey Maanster - some companies discontue certain rpoducts to make room for new products. Much like computers, makeup also progress in technology. So, the order ones gets retired as new ones comes in.
Lol another new opening? Its cool but i still love the first one! Nice video!!
I just love your vids! Work the perly whites! ;) PS - You are my new Airbrush GURU - I got one at MAC and I don't even know how to do makeup yet lol
hey reez, yeah definitely check out MoistureLush cream.
txs for posting... really nice and helpfull!
hey Aqua- yes, unfortunately - cuz once the product dries in the gun, it will block and clog it, can be a real pain to clean.
Well done! very usefull! thanks for that:)
its quite sensitive, just be careful next time. Dropping it is worse, so try to avoid that if you can.
I love your videos! I have a Dinair gun, but it ONLY likes the Dinair airbrush makeup (the other brands get plugged). I want an Iwata gun to give me more options with the brands of airbrush makeup paint. This helped a bunch! :o)
you need to use a waterbased mixing medium, or some airbrush makeup company have airbrush thinners - like Temptu and MAC Pro have those.
have you ever tried luminess air? and will you do a video showing us how to apply airbrushed makeup?
where is your NN tut? Can't wait to see you review the pigments/e/s, etc!
the larger cups have caps on the cup
Great detailed vid. What foundation do u suggest works best? I hav been using mac's face n body for my clients n found them rather runny
great video thanks
Very helpful.
Enkore,
I love this tut. I'm looking to buy a airbrush system but, I don't know how to do it. Do you have to take a class to learn or you can learn on your own?
thanks
xoxox
Very informative. What size needle do I use for ceramic glazes which can be coarse and can clog up after a while. What should the pressure be when I use glazes? I don't have issues when I use a heavy duty compressor and a commercial paint spray gun. What is your advice if I do details with airbrush on ceramics?
this was one of the first google results, congrats dude.
I just got an airbrush machine for xmas but I don't know how to clean it without damagining it. Can you make a video about cleaning it and maintance? Thanks!
hahai love your beginning!
Thanks for the information! One last question... if I were to use my regular liquid foundation, what could I dilute it with to make it the proper consistency?
you are amazing! i hope you get paid for selling Iwata!
keep it up. Thank you
I would love to see your technique on using foundation with the airbrush gun on a friend or client!
great tut would be nice to try before you buy. are they noisey? I would imagine their fairly expensive once you buy the compressor as well.
I will check out the website.
can't wait to see one in use by you. cheers Koren you come up with the best stuff. love mel
I love your videos + just subscribed + going to pass along your vids to friends =)
Question: if you have time to answer?? I work at a Dr's office (nurse) and will be doing complimentary makeovers for post-surgery skin cancer patients. I purchased Iwata supplies, now the makeup? Any tips on the most gentle yet long lasting? I have samples of Kett, Temptu, etc, but I'm trying to avoid costly makeups so patients can opt to do their makeup at home without breaking the bank. THANKS!
Hi Koren, was checking out your video on airbrushing. I think you're good (: Can I use any foundation for this or do I have to buy a special one? Need your recommendation on which foundation works best with airbrush. I also have combination oily skin. Not fun.
hi koren. can u give tips for eyeliner and mascara airbrush? you mentioned it in the compressor video? thanks
U Rock....Girls this is one u can listen to...Perfect my airbrush make up wad just. Fab....Thanks again Darling...Keep up the great videos...
Hey call me, i called you earlier
what would you recommend if you wanted to use tanning products instead of foundation? is it best to use a spray gun or an airbrush? what brand do you recommend? and can i use any tanning product for the gun or does it need to be a special/ specific kind?
Thanks! this video is very helpful!
oh well thank u so much for the info! i really wanted to try air brush ill go with ur advice you seem to know wut ur talking about :)
hey i am a makeup artist and im looking into airbrushing. i was just wondering in you have tips on how to airbrush foundation ect, a video would be fabulous :) i could figure it out by messing around but i was wondering if you had tips. thanks
hi, first of all nice vid, secondly i have a question, when iam using my gun, most times all the paint is geting blown out of the airbrush gun via the paint cup on top. this causes a horrble mess, what is wrong? how can i prevent it?
Thanks Enkore. How does one airbrush on themselves...or can they?
good video! ty
Dude, is this song from one of your Broadway productions?
Question..Can you use any type of foundation in these?
Thanks for the info.! :-)
what type of gun would you use if you were painting plastics, and what type of paint is good for painting plastics.
wow, ure great! keep it comming
Are you going to make a video on using the airbrush with makeup in it?
hi,
question when i bought an air brush it came with two hoses one that looks regular size but the other one is black and thin. what is the black thin hose for????
EnKore, do you think you can make a tutorial of how to apply airbrush foundation on yourself? Thanks! =D
