Aaron Lewis singing this tribute to Chester was incredible. Aaron has a genuine pain in his voice that made these lyrics hit home hard. Battling depression is an awful thing. It's like fuckin trying to breathe underwater. Overwhelming thoughts that you can't ever seem to get away from, self hatred, suicidal thoughts, etc. Fuck Depression!!!!!!

Depression comes in many different forms... but they are all the same monster, just shaped to look different to some. I have lived with bipolar for 26 years now and it has taken a lot to not give in. I miss Chester, I miss Linkin Park. While I was not a huge fan, even as a casual one I can admit to missing him and them.

Man... I don't know why, but after knowing this song so many years, I'm only just now really HEARING the lyrics. So often on shitty mainstream songs about breakups or whatever, you always see comments like "Omg you can feel the pain in these words" and things like that. Why not this song? Why not Chester? I agree, I struggle with depression every day, I've attempted suicide I don't know how many times, not only has Linkin Park's music helped me, but my (5) children have showed me a light that couldn't be put out...
Yes, I still cope with my depression and I'm very greatful for the people that are behind me making sure I keep my medication going. I hope to be able get past this and be a "normal" person again...

I was a big durst fan back in the day, idk why 😂 but ive always been a huge aaron fanboy and idk why, i actually just saw him acoustically live in alabama last week (2nd time seeing him) and when i say it was the best concert ive seen it blew me away... but like you said, durst didnt do much right, but introducing the world to aaron lewis was the best thing to ever happen

This is the Aaron Lewis I miss. There aren't any fake country accents and lyrics. It's just him singing from the heart like he used to with Stained. Out of all the tributes I've seen this is my favorite one because it really seems genuine in a multitude of ways.

For me it was Linkin Park, Disturbed, some Staind, Theory of a Deadman, Adelina’s Way, 30 Seconds To Mars, MCR, and Shinedown. There were others but these were the main one. Many are still in my playlists today. This certainly hit me in nostalgic feels

God Garou I i was too young and dumb and worried about other things I probably blew it on alcohol or weed. But I’ll never forget how real he was. During the concert he stopped it to put a guy to shame in front of everybody for groping a minor. I guess the guy was trying to be sneaky. He is a real ass dude and extremely humble. I used to work the green room for performers and he was by far the most humble.

What can be said that hasn't been already? Simply the most beautiful tribute done by the artist most appropriate for the task. I remember one of the first live Linkin Park songs you could purchase was on the KROQ 2001 Family Values CD, and the track was "One Step Closer with Aaron Lewis". They must have gotten close on that tour, because not only did he later appear on Reanimation, but on its definitive track KRWLNG, as its motifs are sprinkled throughout the album before it closes it out. That song has consistently remained my favorite piece of music of all time, since I first heard it the day I bought Reanimation that summer between middle and high school. Thank you Aaron, for allowing us to process the painful and confusing loss with you.

Godsmack was always my favorite band, tied with Linkin Park, neither of them ever had a song I didn't like. Been a fan of Staind for a long time, too. Two legends paying a remarkable tribute to another legend. 2 1/2 years later and I still can't believe you're gone, Chester. We miss you.
