  • Dragonali’s Duramax gets a lift pump and sump to handle higher horse power. And our ’65 C10 Lo ‘n Slo is back with the rebuilt 292 straight-six. It’s fitted on the Engine Power dyno for some initial pulls.

    That's gonna work real good when it's only full! Good job putting that sump in the exact proper location! Reading off a damn board. Fuel pressure also cushions the injector on the close which is very important and I never hear you guys talk about it ??

    49 CFR CH.III (393.65) 6d; Gravity or syphon feeding is prohibited.
    49 CFR CH.III (393.67) 7.4.5.; Fuel withdrawal fittings. The fittings through which fuel is withdrawn from a tank must be located above the noraml level of fuel in the tank when the tank is full.

      I couldn't find 49 CFR CH.III (393.67) 7.4.5, but did find within the section this:
      (5) Fuel withdrawal fittings. Except for diesel fuel tanks, the fittings through which fuel is withdrawn from a fuel tank must be located above the normal level of fuel in the tank when the tank is full.

    I'd like to see them work on a GM 4.3 262 v8. I always thought it would be cool to have one built to put in an s10 to throw people off on it being a 4.3 and a v8.

    Not bad, but would have liked to see more detail on the hose routing. What did you do with the factory hose connections at the tank? I have to assume you didn;t leave them open? You also didn't show the install of the return, where did you put it? Good video but you cut it short, so I have to keep looking.

    Why didn't you make a pass on that six cylinder with the turbo on it? What video do I have to go to so I can see how much hp that thing is putting out with the turbo on it?

    Worries about returning fuel into the fill neck due to leaks while refuelling YET installs a sump which can leak all the time.

    Really like this channel, but drilling a hole in the bottom of the tank is not a good idea, especially as it sits proud of the tank exposed to hitting rocks etc from the road,

      I had to do the same, it's common for the straw in the tank to crack and suck air, also the fittings on the tank to crack. It avoids all that and gives better flow without that chance of sucking air.

    I agree if you take the fuel pump out of the tank look where the pickup it has a good place to mount new part fuel pickup that pumps design the handle a fuel line that's a little longer was original pick up is also get your old pump assembly and use that fuel assembly and electrical to return fuel back Simple as that! And while you have the bed off little power washing wouldn't hurt?

      @@AndyFromm maybe we are but besides the point I just looked up crap regarding sumps with deisel vehicles and they're allowed. The fuel lines just cant be more than two inches below the sump. The sump has to be adequately protected, the parts long enough to accommodate vehicle flex and secured against chafing.

    You say the filter takes the air out of the fuel. Where does the air go. There is no escape valve on filter. Sounds like bull to me. Water yes air I don't think so.

      there is a recirculate line from the pump back to the tank. air removed from the system is sent to the filler neck of the tank

    220 hp. Or basically what a worn out 350 makes. And once you throw a front drive on it it's not going to be much over factory numbers. Total fools errand to spend that much and be out powered by a mild v8 even after they put boost to it.
