I literally just watched a video on Mr. Ballen’s TH-cam channel about these 3 teenagers who were being actively hunted by a saltwater crocodile. Sadly, one of them was tragically eaten by the crocodile after he had fallen into the “black river.”
Here in Florida where I live, on occasion there will be alligators that come from the Indian River into the Atlantic Ocean via the inlet. But I’m in the ocean quite often, and haven’t encountered any crocodiles, nor do I have any desire to. Crocs have a much worse reputation than gators and they terrify me way more than sharks.

There isn't a fresh body of water without them except the spring fed ones that are too cold, and even then you can't be sure a chick had her head bit a month ago snorkeling in a spring fed river. Even the storm retention ponds are filled with them here.

A couple years ago when a kid got taken at a waterway in Disney I remember my family members being outraged, and I'm like guys every person living in Florida knows you do not go near water ways, especially at night. My uncle was Standing on the edge of a random lake near the resort we were in fishing and a baby gator came swimming up which is being from Virginia he thought was kind of cool so he knelt down towards the water to get a closer look I started walking back towards the hotel along the edge of the water and noticed a big set of eyes slowly drifting towards him I screamed at him to get away from the water it ended up being what I assume was the mother and when it showed itself it was huge I whole heartedly feel if I didn’t see that gator my uncle would not be here today he was not paying any attention and was focused on the baby we saw many more during our trip but that situation stuck with me since a kid I’m now 29

My friends and I were really into fishing and we were always near the water.I don't think that we would have fished if we had gators in the water. It was already dangerous enough because the reservoirs and waterways were close to Baltimore. One morning we got to a reservoir and a bunch of police came and questioned us. They told us that they had found a body exactly where we had been sitting .Major crime seemed to happen in all of the reservoirs and areas of woods where we would have to go to fish.
