I am a Canadian who took a Jumping Crock Cruise down the Adelaide in 2014 when I visited Darwin. They pick you up at your hotel early AM in the tour bus and return you at night. What a fantastic day we had. It was only around $100.00 back then. I remember they had to remind people not to rush to one side of the boat to get a better view of the crocks because we could tip over. I was frozen to my seat after that 😂😂😂😂
I just got to do a jumping crocodile cruise from Darwin back in February and it was the coolest thing ever. They had to tell people to keep their butts on the seat and if anyone didn’t listen then the cruise was over. We were feeding a cute crocodile named Miss, and then out of nowhere a huge flash of lightning and simultaneous thunder and 3 crocs on the banks scurried into the water, we had no idea they were even there. Did you get goosebumps when making eye contact with them too? I did lol and I live in florida and have gators in my backyard but I’m never inches from their snouts. 😅
I can say this as an Australian you would have no chance in hell being able to cross that river I have heard stories a fisherman going down to collect their fish because they are stuck on a log and the fisherman being taken by a massive saltwater Beast
I'm surprised nobody thought to implant a tracking chip to Dominator to pinpoint his location if he's popular with tourists. I'm mean sure it wouldn't be good to bother him 24/7, but if he was in a specific location on the river from time to time, it would be convenient to keep a record of his movements if he's as big as they say.
It would be very difficult. Crocodiles are easily stressed, so catching them for anything can lead to their death. They don't do well being put under. You wouldn't be able to tag them like you would a shark. Look at Sneaky's scales. You'd bend a needle trying to get anything done.
Crocodiles are near in inpossible to kill my man. You could quite literally hook a meat hook through it. Chopper it across Australia and drop it in the ocean and she would swim off fine. They regularly take each other's limbs and continue on like its nothing. Not sure where you heard that but it's wildly incorrect
The river also has extremely strong currents too. And Saltwater crocodiles are also one of the few animals on the planet that would actively hunt humans. It has happened in the past especially during WW2 when the Japanese were eaten in a large swamp on Ramree island by these large crocodiles. I’d argue polar bears are more dangerous or at least as dangerous as hippos and water buffalo. If we’re talking sheer casualty numbers that’d be different, as the vast majority of people will never be even close to polar bear territory, so the number of deaths and injury by polar bear will remain very low compared to other predators.

My dad told me a story about Louisiana, USA. One night in the 70s my dad was at a bar with some coworkers. It was just across a bridge from the cheap motel they were all staying in, they were traveling railroad workers. So while at the bar, one of the men realized he left his smokes behind and went back to the motel. On his trip back he decided to wade through the water as the walk to the bridge and all was a distance. But you could literally see the bar from the motel parking lot. In the morning they were in awe at the river he had crossed. Shallow water, but infested with gators all over from shore to shore. A valuable lesson for an old Kansas boy
Baby great white maybe. Typically you only see salties kill small bull sharks. But it's usually vice versa. Great whites have huge maneuverability and speed advantages in water. Croc doesn't have a chance vs an adult white.

I'm Australian and I know a kid who jumped on top of a freshwater croc up north without seeing it. It latched on to his leg and really opened it up. They don't generally attack people but the kid did land on it

When I was a Kid living in the Northern Territory we all knew the story of Sweetheart, he was only 17 meters long but Dominator being 22 meters is a dinosaur! Dominator is a bit of a bully to another big croc called Brutus, he sneaks up on Brutus and bites at his tail.
I wish the zoos in my area had those cage experiences, or just crocodiles/gators in general. I love them so much but have never seen either in real life before 😭

This is because Nile Crocodiles are more powerfully built overall with higher bite forces than Saltwater Crocodiles. And this is due to Nile Crocodiles preying on larger and more powerful animals far more often than Saltwater Crocodiles and therefore Nile Crocodiles evolving into more powerful predators.

When he asks about shoving his arm down his throat and the experts disagree that's actually the most feasible way to survive an attack under water. There is a story of a bloke who survived a nile croc attack in Africa by doing just that. Croc dragged him under and he used his free arm to feel for the flap in it's throat. As the water flooded into its lungs the Croc immediately let him go giving him enough time to swim ashore.
Edit: The Aussie clarified this. Totally agree! Sharks act the same. Attracted to easy prey on top. I have an instinct that says if you’re UNDER the water in the murky stuff and not splashing around on top, you have a much greater chance of not getting snagged.

the number of feeding tours has encouraged crocs to be closer to boats due to them expecting to be fed

I went to the everglades as a kid, and a child fell in off the jetty! About 3 adults grabbed him - luckily he was fine but that's a story to tell!

When he asks about shoving his arm down his throat and the experts disagree that's actually the most feasible way to survive an attack under water. There is a story of a bloke who survived a nile croc attack in Africa by doing just that. Croc dragged him under and he used his free arm to feel for the flap in it's throat. As the water flooded into its lungs the Croc immediately let him go giving him enough time to swim ashore.

I live in australia and I can say dont go in the water, or in a bush considering we have the most venomus snakes on earth, sharks, spiders, deadley fish, and crocodiles. however australia has the most beutiful beaches in the world so its a great place to go to live or vacation.
