The first and last dealership I worked for was Toyota. My first day the lead tech told me that he has got rid of seven guys like me and I would be the eighth. 10 hours a day Monday- Friday and once a month 8 hours on a Saturday. He would decide of the 4 in our group whom got the 60k service work and everything else. I only flagged 18 hours before 4pm because he gave me all of the loaner cars that paid 1.5 per car before lunch and a 4runner 60k. This was in 2001 flat rate 10 dollars an hour. Maybe if I had been in a different group but if I could go back after Toyota when I started my mobile mechanic business I would tell myself only fix cars for people that can pay for what you do.
I think you just was put in a bad group and situation with a bad lead tech. A lead tech at a dealer should not be telling other tech and younger techs that they are not going to make but rather helping them grow and get more knowledge and experience.
dealer tell me they just have RTV on this model, i when to try to buy one gasket he told me to use only RTV, i have one gasket on mine and it wrap because of the heat i have a little leak, i guess with water splashing under it and with the heat will wrap again around the same time, so far i am undecided if i go only rtv or gasket rtv
They had the paper gasket listed on the parts but when I took it out of the package it was totally different, so I went with regular rtv because that is all that it had on it from the factory as well. So you should be good to go with just RTV.
I have a 2018 camry le 2.5l.....do you happen to know if it's straight rtv or if there is a gasket....the dealer is trying to get me for 669$ on a damn oil pan
