@@JustinCartwright-nu3lj I used to watch it as a child and loved the series. I liked the different personalities and the problems and friendships in the series. :D
As it turns out, Thomas the tank engine has always been very in tune with politics- in the 1940’s, there were stories about union strikes being represented with the bigger engines not wanting to work. In the 1950’s, the diesel engines were introduced to the books as a social commentary of modernization taking the life out of railways and their charm. In the 1970’s, Gordon was replaced with an intercity-metro train (Pip & Emma) in the books to show that the era of steam truly ended, and how the future was taking place. In 1995, Thomas made history as the first kids show to have a non-binary character: The New York Times quoted Britt Allcroft (The series director) as saying that she wanted to add more gender diversity to the show because the ratio of male to female characters were causing parents to become upset. So, she switched Rusty’s gender from male to none at all, only referring to him as “the little diesel” (Though this would change following the release of the 9th season in 2006, where he was then a boy permanently). What I’m trying to say is that, people shouldn’t get mad at this video because Thomas has always reflected politics of the time by using allegories for modern scuffles with trains. While comedic in tone (Which is different from what would probably happen if this were made a real story), it still feels a little Thomas-y. I guess the dialogue between everyone feels a little sappy because in the older show the engines constantly put each other down (Which is definitely why my mom tried to stop me from watching it when I was younger), the skit still feels raw. Considering they were so keen on showing engines getting scrapped in both the show and books, I feel if the railway series came out in the 1930’s the Reverend W. Awdry would definitely write a story about Adolf Hitler being a pig considering he was pretty liberal for the time he was alive. I definitely feel we’ll all be entering a more authoritarian and dictator-led state with the recent election and Donald Trump becoming president, so yeah, that’s how I see this video in terms of it being politically relevant. (Ironically enough there was an engine in the original show called Donald lol). In all, don’t listen to the haters, if you improve on everything from the art to your writing, I feel your work can be seen as much more tasteful. (Y’know, because Auschwitz is pretty bad to make a Thomas video on from a moral standpoint)
@Diecastcreations Thank you very much for your comment and the information it contains. Many series from back then are being revised and adapted to a new era. (Gendern or modernization of new trains). I am not an enemy of modernity and am happy about technology and new things in the future. But I think that children's series should be left untouched. I like the old Thomas series much better than the new ones. The Mona Lisa isn't being reworked either. :D
Not bad, not bad, but I feel the engines are to nice at the end when hear Diesel, or Biesel, can now pull passengers. They should have been livid. A diesel pulling passangers!? What utter disgrace!
The point is that his big dream has come true. Whether or not it is specially designed for freight transport, he can now live his dream and make people happy. (More or less)😂🥲🥲 The other locomotives simply indulge him.🥰

you know thinking about this that's probably how the Marklin engine came to sodor. (the Marklin engine for those who don't know, was a model DRG Class 80 tank engine that was used most often in season 1 when the show first started, it simply pulled trucks and coaches around giving the model set a bit of a busy look, it never had a face since it was never seen on screen, following the release of season 2 and more engines joining the cast, the Marklin engine was then cut up and reused as set dressing for industrial/scrapyard sets
@@Lexxytoons yeah, the only proof we have of it being used is in BTS shots of season 1, usually just off camera. Many fans have made their own ideas to the marklin engine, how a German steam engine got to be on sodor in the first place and what happened to it. My personal headcanon for it was that it was on loan before topham bought Thomas to shunt cars in the big station before being bought outright in 1930 and served at sodors utility/ maintenance engine
@expressfreightproductions Your idea sounds logical and understandable. You've thought it through really well. Do you know what annoys me sometimes about things like this? When someone is enthusiastic about stories or narratives and then develops questions over time that are not answered in the story itself. On the one hand, there is a lot of room for creative possibilities, but on the other hand, many people would like to know the final outcome.
