    My 2011 Jetta Tdi got the dreaded P2015 VW intake manifold failure. This can be a very expensive fix for your 2.0 tdi motor. However getting the bracket and about a hour of your time is way cheaper.

    Just a UK update. Was a nightmare as the three screws are at the back of the unit and not the front. Loads of bits needed removing to access the unit. Fitting the small part to fix the problem was fairly easy but this also needed modification. Lots of tools needed and glad I did not tackle it. It took an experienced mechanic 2hrs to take out and refit. I erased the fault code and the fault code has finally gone.

    Joanna from Cali here and have I got an update for you. Just installed the part I bought from diesel geeks for my 2013 Jetta TDI intake. Been driving for months with the p2015 code and dash Iight on another light came on for the regen filter. I limited my driving to not plug up my filter. Just drove forty miles at 75 mph consistently regen light shut off but p2015 light stayed on. I shut the car off restarted the car no more dash warning lights. Thanks for your video when I lost the spring I freaked out but you truly don’t need it.

    Can confirm on a 2009 1.9 tdi.
    Only need to take the bottom t30 bolt out, lever the actuator arm towards the front of car holding it then fit the part and do up. 100% works. Although there is 2 different ones to pick from. My one was the longer version. I've had the whole unit off twice and spring popped off too. No need to take the unit off. Very easy fix but a little fiddly

    Thanks for helping us. I have little question if possible. I was getting p2015 and installed bracket. It is 2.0 TDI CR with plastic intake manifold. Mechanic needed to take away manifold to install bracket, he disconnected fuel lines from high pressure fuel pump because they were covering intake manifold. Anyway, long story short, no more p2015 but after this engine started to work louder, after few days i noticed he did not tightened fuel line bolt from high pressure fuel pump to rail and the fuel was leaking under high pressure fuel pump, including revving up on idle to compensate for the pressure i guess. I visited mechanic once again and he fixed this by tightening the screw but engine still works louder along the vibrations on idle, no revving on idle anymore. Is it possible that 'ecu/computer' needs to learn new settings while driving, or there is 'air' in fuel lines? is it possible that he damaged hpfp because he did not tightened fuel line from hpfp to rail? or something else? thanks a lot to anyone having time to help me out

    Seriously everyone loosing the spring.. have seen other videos showing this being done without taking the motor off (although tbf some of those the motor in a slightly different place) but looking at this video of this engine.. surely easiest solution is to take the air box off in front of it to gain better access.. seems it would then be pretty easy to fit. And I'd much rather dismantle the air box than the motor and loose the spring.. once I get round to checking mine out, I'll try and remember to share my experiences.. but I may come back and say I've lost the spring too haha

      I've just come across this and my one is in the same location but the screws are on the back and a nightmare to get to.
      I'm not to sure but I think this is a safety thing.
      Much bigger diesel engines have have a problem where they can ignite the engine oil and pass through the rings keeping the engine running so as part of the safety the engine will close off the intake manifold when the engine is turned off.
      This silly module is used to report back to the ECU that the flaps are closed. If it's not reporting any problem codes with the spring missing then I wouldn't worry.

    This fix is hit and miss, you have to remember what causes the problem to begin with, it's the internal components at the manifold that wear out causing over rotation and throwing the code(s) not the flap motor itself in most cases I've seen, This device is basically using the original worn components and stopping them over rotating but they are worn! cheapest long term and effective fix is to replace the plastic manifold with an aftermarket one, also saves you having to clean the sticky gunk out of your original one.

    • @kieranwright5601
      @kieranwright5601 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your car already has that block fitted to the manifold and the code has returned, it will require a new inlet manifold. The initial reason why the valve extends too far is due the internals of the manifold wearing. Fitting the block just keeps the flap in the specified range so the engine ECU doesn't see a deviation. If that 2015 code is back after fitting the block, unfortunately, it means a new manifold. Hope this helps👍

      Have you checked your vin for the Volks recall? I know they raised the amount of miles your car can have on it and the intake is covered. If your vehicle has already been repaired under the recall you have 4 years or 55,000 miles from when the work was done. It would be worth checking . Just go to Volks recalls and it will ask for your vin once you enter you will know. Good luck

      I just did this mod and you are right. I dropped the spring into the engine bay while trying to reinstall. I finally found it and had to fish it out with some needle nose. Then finally I was able to barely get it on and put the screws back in without it falling. It was difficult cause there is no room to work. My hands hurt afterwards lol
