- In this short video, we're working on fixing the very common P2015 code that comes up for the intake manifold runner control motor fault. The dealership wants around $900 for this repair, but you can fix it yourself in just a few minutes for around $70!
I picked up this piece from www.dieselgeek.com. Now, I have zero affiliation with this company, but it's the same place where I picked up the timing belt kit that we previously installed on the car.
It took around fifteen minutes to install, and so far the light has not come back on! Here is the link to the piece I purchased:

EXCELLENT Info ... and description + How To video on a "common" error code on VW Jetta diesel engines ... Absolutely Fantastic video ... Thanks a million Shawn [sp]
Info for CA owners trying to pass a SMOG check: On the Code that was still left after clearing. Notice one thing, when he first went into it the scanner it said it was a "Current" code. Once he cleared it and went back in and it was still there it said it was a "Permanent" code. A Permanent DTC is a misleading statement. It would actually better be called a "History" code. A Permanent DTC does not matter for most people because as you saw in the video the check engine light went off so that's a good fix in most peoples books. On 2010 and newer vehicles there is no way to clear a Permanent DTC except by completing the drive cycle for that system up to 40 times. But like I said for most people the check engine light being off is the main thing.
Where people might get confused is when they have a permanent code and they go for a smog check in CA and fail because of it. Even though you cannot clear a permanent code CA allows a passing smog with a Permanent DTC as long as you have driven it 200 miles and have had 15 warm up cycles since you cleared the code. Once you do the 200/15 the code will still be there the SMOG machine will it ignore it at that point.
So if it says "permanent" stop trying to clear / erase the code and just drive it the 200/15 you need. If you clear the codes again you sort of reset the clock on the monitors and the 200/15 count.

Great info, thanks!
Great Info - Did not realize resetting Error Codes will also reset the computer monitors ... therefore, needing to redo the 200/15 cycle. Thank you for the info !!!
Hi y’all from west Alabama love your show
Hi Jamie, thanks! Where at in AL?
The product link provided by Auto Anatomy is clearly shown for the aluminum manifold. If yours doesn't work, then it might be plastic.
ive gotten it fixed 2x with my mechanic and the error keeps popping up 😭 it’s so expensive so im definitely going to see if i can do this myself 🤭 THANK YOU!!!
You can do it!
What if we lose the spring 😑😑😑
You fkn legend 💯
Muchos gracias!
You’re welcome!!
I replaced and now I have P2196 how to fix tih?
I did the same and the error went off for a bit but it came back,…
Is the part the same for a 2.0 in a GTI, or is this fix for the Diesel engine only?
Not sure, sorry
Hello.....where can I order that part from?

Any updates to this mod? I have read more bad then good on this ECS tuning part. Let me know your feedback. Thanks
It's been on my wife's car since I made the video and the light hasn't come back on since. So far, so good!
sweet. what do you think - possible to simply fit the bracket without whole motor removal?
Not sure, I'll take a look.
Did you manage to do this without taking the whole thing out?
@@nonflopvidsI was thinking the same thing, I’ve heard it is possible but can’t find any videos of it being done
@@philpot1972 I tried but the bracket plate (made of soft aluminum) started to bend and it was "easier" to remove the assembly to mount the bracket and its plate with the bottom bolt.
It did not help for me. I still have the same error VW2.0 TDI 2008 .
Did u fix this?
👌🏻🙂
