Hi Sweet Friends, Today I am sharing a full-length step-by-step bone broth tutorial for making beef bone broth on the stove-top. If you have any questions, be sure to leave them in the comments and I'll be happy to help! And I forgot to put the link to the video that explains the difference between broth, stock, and bone broth which you can watch here: th-cam.com/video/DHC68NdrPDs/w-d-xo.html And also, here is the link to the video where I go over all the types of bones for making bone broth and what the best bones are for making bone broth: th-cam.com/video/llS84iRuBZU/w-d-xo.html Love, Mary
I know this is an old video but I can't find the video you mention that you worked out the cost compared to a store brought bone broth. Please can you help? Thank you jo
I totally agree. You are so knowledgeable, resourceful, kind, authentic, you have such a positive and pleasant vibe that watching you and listening to you is nourishment to one’s soul. You are a blessing to your family and loved ones. God bless you 🙏
I’ve made beef broth before but O…M…G this was absolutely the best I have ever made. I found bone marrow, ox tails and shank bones. I followed your recipe and it sat on the stove overnight because I started it after work. The next day I had to leave it on the stove all day because I had to go to work. I guess I didn’t plan that well. When I got home, I strained it the way you showed us and I put it in mason jars. This morning when I took the small bit I put aside to test it, it was perfect. I was able to tip it upside down too and it didn’t budge. Right now, I wanted more and I had to spoon it out of the jar. It literally was like jello. All I had to do was add a bit of salt and pepper and it tasted amazing. I was so happy about my success, I had to write this to let you know. I’ll be making it again for sure. Thank you Mary ❤️
Mind blown! I can't believe I haven't found this video before today. I felt like you were my Aunty and I was in your kitchen with you. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much!! This is what I was looking for and SOOO very much more!! You're such a sweet and helpful person! Thank you for taking your time to teach us!
all of your videos make me feel like everything is gonna be okay, no matter what! Besides from providing very nutritious recipes and tips you also have the most calming and happy aura & personality
Thank you, Mary, I successfully made my first bone broth after watching your video at least twice beforehand. It was quite apprehensive in the beginning but after referring to your video all along, I finally got it done and it was perfect. The broth was gelatinous and I stored it according to your advice. You made me feel that I really have achieved something. I contemplated making this bone broth for at least 3 months before I decided to give it a go, and I am so happy that it turned out all right. Mary, I can't thank you enough for putting up this video to help so many of us out there who need to drink this kind of soup for medicinal reasons, you really are a life saver. Love you and blessings to your family. 😍🥰💞

I love you're channel! I missed you. I was watching you a lot for learning how to cook and then I hadn't in a while and I am going to re-try making bone broth. Coming into your channel made me feel good. You are so motherly wonderful and intelligent. I went through a very hard time recently. Thank you for being a light in this world. ❤️
This is wonderful, I can't wait to try this, and then use some of it to make my French onion soup 👍👍👍 Thanks much Mary! The possibilities are endless... 👍🤔
Hi sweet Mary! I've been following you for quite a while now, and love your channel!!! Years ago I almost burnt my house down making stove top bone broth, when it was supposed to cook for 48-72 hours, I had an emergency while just starting to make the broth, I had seared the meat and was adding water when I got the call ran oit tje door and forgot to shut off the stove, I was gone several hours, the pot went dry in my absence, the tallow caught fire, and my son was alone in the house sleeping!!! No one was hurt, the fire was contained to the kitchen stove area (Thank God I was using a GOOD stick pot) so it was mainly only smoke damage and a new range hood but I lost my place to live, so I stopped making bone broth of any kind for years!!! This was years ago, before slow cookers and the modern day pressure cooker pots, such as the Power Quick Pot and Instant Pot. I was very traumatized by this event, but I really love, want, and need my bone broth! I want to make it NOT in an pressure cooker, but was struggling keeping the right temp with my crockpot so went to using the pressure cooker, but in my humble opinion, it's not as good as stovetop bone broth. I'm gonna try this in my new crockpot on the keep warm setting as you do it, and keep a thermometer in it so I'm sure it's cooking properly!!! Thanks for ALL you DO, and ALL the GOOD information YOU offer!!! Now I've got a question I've wondered for years. Just curious, why do I hear of ALL kinds of bone broth, beef, chicken, turkey, fish, everything it seems except pork? Lard comes from pigs just as tallow comes from beef and I use it to cook with, both of the lard makes baked goods so moist and flavorful, and tallow is great to fry with! Just curious? Why not pork bone broth? Last question I'm not a wine lover per say, I only like sweet dessert wines, could/would a Rosé work? Or a Moscato? Or a Riesling? Or does it need to be red? If red which red wine has the least strong flavor? I use vinegar but I agree with you it leaves a little taste, that isn't in my humble opinion, very flavorful, has a metallic tart taste...thanks for everything!!! I will be following you FOREVER now!!!😁😍💙🙏💙😋🤤🤗😋 Brightest Blessings💜

Hello Mary, thank you so much for this wonderful video. My first time making bone broth and it turned out beautifully! Your step by step process was so easy to understand. Thanks again. 🤗😍😘
Wow, what a great video! Simple to understand, step by step of what to do, how to choose the bones, what benefits are in each type of bones, when to introduce the veggies and the nutrients in them. Your instructions on the amount of sufficient time to cook and making sure what ingredients not to cook from the beginning and why, such as garlic. HOW TO SEPARATE THE BROTH , THE FAT
Oh my gosh! Wish I found yhis video sooner! It would have saved my a lot of time looking for just the right beef broth. Thank you so much. Have a blessed week.
Mary, thanks for all the tips on the bone broth. I've been making bone broth for years, bur you have taught me many things, especially for the beef. I usually have made chicken bone broth. I especially love the new Fat Separator! It works really well and it's easy. Also glad to learn to leave the fat on the jars I won't use right away. Thanks and happy cooking! I'm 72, but always leaning!!
I know this is controversial and I'm sure not recommended by the National Institute of Home Food Preservation, but has worked foolproof for me for years. I ladle the broth straight from the hot pot into mason jars and secure with the lid and ring, let sit on the counter where the lids ping and seal, leave out until cooled down then put in the fridge. I have had broth last for months sealed and refrigerated. Of course, they are not shelf stable. I've not had a single jar go bad. Btw, I love that decanter.
Hi Patty, You are SO funny!! I love how you said not recommended by the NIHFP. Probably so many things we do in the kitchen would not be approved by them!! LOL!! I think what your doing sounds very smart. I am going to give it a try! Thank you so much for the inspiration!! Love that you are here!! Love, Mary
I'm a little late in viewing this video but your comment really caught my eye! When you said not recommended by NIHFP I knew I would be very interested in what you had to say:) I can't recall how many times I have not followed their recommendations and things turn out the same as if I did, or better. Like the one about canning butter like this, I love it! But your idea is fantastic and proven so this batch of bone broth will be processed your way and is dedicated to you, thank you Patty!
I used your recipe to make bone broth and it came out great! My first attempt was not the greatest. I ended up adding too much water and as a result, it was not gelatinous. Also, the bones used were not 100% grassfed, so I tossed the whole pot out. I was discouraged, but took my time to search around for recipes and stumbled upon yours, and I'm so grateful I did! I made the broth yesterday and stored it in the fridge overnight and I had a gelatinous result! Thank you for providing step-by-step directions! It was so helpful!

Hi Mary. Thanks for another bone broth video. I have been following your bone broth videos and have made several gallons for my pantry. I find the broth is wonderful when I'm not feeling wonderful as well as for daily enjoyment. Cheers!
Hi Kate, So glad you are enjoying these! I get so many questions via email from my website about bone broth that it seems like I could spend a lifetime making different variations so as to cover all the questions and requests that I get! LOL!! So glad that the bone broth is enjoyable! Love, Mary
@@MarysNest Mary, You would be amazed at how many questions I get about bone broth as well. I just recently did a video on chicken soup called "Mother's Love in a Bottle" and that brought a whole lot of bone broth questions. Thanks for all you do.,
@@insidekateskitchen - Oh Kate!! I love that name!! And it is appropriate!! It's amazing how much interest there is in bone broth. When my Dad was alive, I told him that Central Market here in the Austin area had a bottle of bone broth for $12. He was shocked!! He grew up very poor and my grandmother always made bone broth. My Dad said, "Well how about that! The food of the poor has become all chic chic now!" LOL!! Too cute!! Thanks so much for being here!! Your comments are such a delight to read!! Love, Mary
@@MarysNest Thanks Mary, I thought it appropriate since Mom always gave us chicken broth and soup when we were ill. Take care. I'm heading off to do my first ever TH-cam live stream at 9 this morning.
I finally tried this recipe, got all the ingredients and my bone broth came out very good! I normally buy more expensive bone broths like for example, Bonafide, which costs $9.99 for 24 oz at Whole Foods. I usually wait for sale and can buy Bonafide for littler over $6.00. Still, I was curious about the cost of home made broth. So I got 6.44 lbs of bones ( beef shank, bone marrow and oxtail) and vegetables, and the total cost was $ 36.8 ( all ingredients)- I didn't count the cost of red wine though. So for $36.8 I got 12 cups of home made bone broth. So it's not cheaper necessarily, but the taste is way better and home made bone broth is so much more gelatinous! I love it! Thank you Mary for doing this tutorial.
Thank you for such detailed instructions! Made it for the first time and got a nice gello :) I like having it as a beverge with come chopped parsley on top + salt, pepper, garlic and ginger.

Hi sweet mary you are the best when it comes to step step tutorial 😀👍 i just made my beef bone broth and followed everything you said. The moment i see that bubbles 👉bloop bloop bloop i turn my stove in a lower setting for 12 hrs. Awww it came out soooo delicious and gelatinous thank you always. Sweet mary.👍😀
So glad I found you, wish I had earlier just finished makeing broth from our meat chicken I did use feet but added to much water and cook it much longer. Will do a better job with our next batch. Love your sweet voice and smile.
This is awesome! Bone broth is so nutritionally dense. Love that you buy regenerative beef. My husband and I bought a grass-fed steer from a local ranch. So worth it if you have freezer space, it's cheap compared to what you would buy at the grocery store. Making bone broth in my Instantpot atm. :) Thank you for making this fabulous video.
Fantastic video as always Mary! Strangely enough my slow cooker broke and I've had a beef bone broth simmering for the last two days so this is very well timed! Especially during our winter over here in Aus :) Nothing like some delicious, nutritious bone broth.
Hi Hannah, Thank you so much for visiting! I'm so happy to hear that this video came in handy. Hope you are staying warm!! Wish we had some of your cool weather here right now!! LOL!! It will be in the 90s (F) today! Love, Mary
@Hannah Small : sounds good and Sweet Mary knows her stuff. I know Texas ain't got much to call winter, but does the land of Oz down under get any anymore? Here in central Oregon it's been in the 70's and low 80's (F) daytime and in the low to mid 40's at night. I've lived in Texas during this time of the year. It is hot and a bit uncomfortable.
@strangerhorse very true, at the lowest we probably get to around 50 degrees Fahrenheit where I am! Your current temperatures sound like mine here actually! Still cold enough to appreciate a good bone broth though 😂 @MarysNest I wish we could send some to you! Not nice being in the middle of summer, can be even more uncomfortable than the middle of winter! Stay cool! ☺️
Hi Sweet Friend 🍁🍂 I watched your slow cooker bone broth video... you used Madeira🍷 I made Spaghetti Sauce today using that wine, and oh wow it is delicious 😋I’m so grateful that you introduced me to such a great wine to cook with 🍷❤️
Another excellent video presentation of traditional and healthy cooking methods. Thanks. Congrats with your sponsor discount deal. I of course still recommend supporting your local rancher. Stay away from commercial feedlot beef if possible. You made a new word and I love it : ) @ 13:41 acidulated
Stranger Horse - Thank you so much for your kind words!! As to US Wellness Meats - they are not a sponsor. That would be nice! LOL!! They only gave me a coupon code for me and the viewers. (Yes!! I am one for making up crazy words! LOL!! ) I am SO with you about supporting local ranchers. But when we have our bad drought...like in 2011, our ranchers had to sell off all their cattle. It’s taking them a good five years now to wait for the drought to pass and then to rebuild up their herds. So sometimes we need to search out other options. 😀 Hope you are having a great weekend! Love, Mary
Well Dog my Cats again. Acidulated IS a word with a history! You are a wonderful teacher and inspiration. I love words languages and dialects. I did some research and found the word in use since the 1700's. The original etymology is from Old Latin acidulus (from acidus ‘sour’) + -ate ( I think my chemistry professors would have dropped me a grade if I used it....but then again, maybe not. I think that we are in weather wars. That drought in Texas caused many people to lose their generational properties in what is a 'land grab' Wyoming and Nebraska lost MILLIONS of cattle this past winter/spring. The Dakotas lost hundreds of thousands of cattle the year before with the freak snowfall and rapid thaw. Food prices are going to skyrocket but it doesn't trickle down to the little guys farms and ranches. Just corporations and the rich that are taking over and commercializing/processing toxic food. That's why your work is so important. Thanks
ps I don't use red or fortified wines because they contain chemicals that many people are sensitive to or allergic. Red wine is a well known trigger for migraines. It isn't the alcohol lol. The main culprits are histamine, sulfites and tannins. So naturally I prefer malt vinegar : )
Well now,, I didn't imply that it's forbidden to use wines. Every creator in the kitchen has their own tastes and if it doesn't cause problems, go for it, just be aware. Before I started getting migraines from an injury, I loved wines, especially a good cabernet. Ah well, getting old ain't so much fun anyway. Also there is flavorless white vinegar, and many flavored vinegars and can also be home made to your own tastes. Thanks again : ) Hay that could be a good topic, but maybe you've already covered it and I haven't come across it yet
Heads up peps!, shanks also known as Shin meat/bone,,, the Shin meat/bone come from the Hindquarter and four quarters hence down to the foot, or foot/feet to the first joint of the animal, Marrow bones also known as Leg Bone or the Arm Bone aka, Canon Bone these last 2 bones come from the Beef Four Quarters, you can get the Marrow bones from the leg of the Hind quarters as well! these bones are the full marrow !!!! other bones will have there smaller parts of the marrows and sum bone hardly none, the Full marrow bones are very rich! i like the marrow on bread and butter! soooo nice!, if you can't afford Oxtail, its very expensive, when i did my first beef broth, i used Brisket Bones, had lot fat, Meat and alot of Cartlege too! my cook was heavy in GEL when cold!! WOOOO! oh and it tasted like if u hand Oxtail! Brisket is Rich!!!! and cheaper! ;) dont forget to use Apple cider vinegar about and inch of a cup, smells like when cooking and a tast like if ur were cookin corned beef! Put sum mixed veggies and oines at the last hr of cooking! Use a table spoon no more of coarse pink himalayan salt at the beginning! !!!WOOO!
Interesting video. What are you basing the idea on getting your minerals from vegetables from? I have always understood that meat and marrow are the most dense in minerals.
Hi Mary thanks for your good work and sharing knowledge. I hope to see more recipes that can be made in a pressure cooker particularly, as well as slowcooker----any method that does not produce heat during this coming summer.
Morning Mary, Only found you yesterday and was up most of the night watching your videos lol, any chance you can do a video of a mushroom broth, I have heard that mushroom broth is also very good for us. Thank you in advance, have a blessed day.
Hi Mary, first of all: Thank you so much for your amazing videos on your channel. I just found you on youtube recently and now I am more or less switched out my Netflix binge watching with your videos. Your camera personality is just perfect and so pleasing to watch. I really love the amount of detail in your videos and time you take to explain every step in depth. I've seen a lot of cooking videos and tutorials but the simplicity of yours combined with your great attitude and your clear love and passion for what you are doing brings your videos up to my top favorites right away. Thank you so much for that and please keep on going with what you do! One question comes to my mind now that I am here: Do you pressure can your bone broth to keep it fresh over a longer period of time or if you do a really huge batch in one go? For how long would you set the cans under pressure and would you do it at all? I am a bit hesitant to do that because of the high temperatures that might "break" the gelatine in my broth. Do you have any advice for me? Thank you again and I wish you all the best from Germany!
Hi Jules, Thank you so much for visiting and for kind words!! You made my day!! You are exactly correct - I do not pressure can my broth because I have discovered that when you do this, the resulting broth - if refrigerated - is not gelatinous. Even though originally it was! Mary is a wonderful teacher. Good question and observation from you. Also you may consider dry canning and just refrigerating if you use it up before your next batch. Cheers.

Your videos have taught me so much Thank you for making them!!! ! I am learning to make it for a friend who is facing multiple health issues and this is just what she needs. I have just finished making 2 crockpots full of my first attempt. If I want to freeze a good portion of it, should I leave those jars in the fridge WITH a layer of fat to form the airtight seal before I put them in the freezer.... or would that be a problem once the broth freezes ( ie not allow for expansion, causing the jar to break?)
You can certainly do that, but I think it’s better to simply soak them in acidulated water for an hour before bringing them up to a boil, and then lowering it down to a simmer to make your bone broth. Any foam that floats to the top can easily be skimmed off.❤️🤗❤️

Great video. I’ve made chicken and beef broth for years. I got the recipes from a traditional cook book but prior to the recipes I learned from my aunt. Those recipes suggested 24 hours for the chicken and 72 hours for the beef. I’m very used to doing it that way but nice to know I can stop earlier if something comes up. Thanks.
Hi Patti, Yes, in earlier years, people simmered their bone broth for much longer. But Sally Fallon - in her book about bone broth - has scientific analysis done on broth and found that beef bone broth simmered for 12 hours was just as nutritious as those simmered longer. And the same was true for chicken bone broth simmered for 6 hours. Good news! Love, Mary
Mary's Nest . Ha! Old habits are hard to break! I did stop after 48 hours....rich, dark, beautiful beef broth. This was the first time I had the feet. I never could find them before. Oh! First time I used wine as well. Even though I’ve been cooking from scratch my entire life...traditionally, I learn something new from you. Thanks for your videos. There’s always room for improvement. I recently visited my sister and she opened a box of beef broth and it looked soooooo pale. And it was flavorless, of course. But the thing that made me anxious was when she threw out the rotisserie chicken carcass. Just threw it in the garbage! I almost had a panic attack! Lol. I’ve never thrown one out. She and her husband just looked at me like I was the one who was crazy. Hahaha.
Patti M - Oh Patti! Thank you so much for sharing all of this. Your comment was a delight to read. You will laugh when I tell you this...whenever I go over to my friends’ homes for dinner, they know me well...they wrap up the chicken carcass and give it to me...often while shaking their heads in disbelief! LOL!! Love, Mary
Mary's Nest . So funny. Locally my friends do the same but I have to fly north to see my sister. I live by my daughter so I spend the holidays with them and I get all the bones. I can’t even imagine the waste of turkey or ham bones at my sisters house during the holidays. I better stay away for my sanity! Lol.luckily we don’t have the same friends or we’d be in competition for bones! Taking a turkey carcass home is the best part of thanksgiving. (Besides my gravy!).
Patti M - Too funny!! In competition for bones!! LOL!! Isn’t it the truth that not only the little things in life are the best...but the scraps too!! LOL!! SO glad you’re here!! Love you, Mary
Hi Mary! I love your content and your approach to traditional cooking. Do you have experience adding chicken feet to beef bone broth? I’d love to hear your opinion on that! Thank you for all the lovely videos!
sedontis - Thank you so much for visiting and for the kind words!! Yes, chicken feet work great as affordable alternative to oxtails. Just make sure to also use some meaty bones line shanks that you brown very well. It will come out great!! BTW - Do you enjoy making other traditional foods in addition to bone broth? Very new to bone broth and listening to the video to learn how to make it. My question is: if you end up with a broth that is too gelatinous, is it better to water it down a little during the cooking or can it be done after? I am learning to make various broths in view of bariatric surgery, and as part of the liquid diet. Thank you!
SissyCal8 - Hi Sissy, So glad you liked this video!! Yes, you can certainly try cooking it longer. That is an option. As long as you don’t let it get too hot to break any potential gelatin, I think that’s a good idea! Love, Mary❤️😘❤️
Sarah Hulsey - Oh Sarah!! Thank you SO much for sharing this!! Back when I was younger I used to cook the bone broth - on the stove top for three days at a pop. Then when I read Sally Fallon‘s book on bone broth, I cut back to 12 hours… Which was also easier on me! LOL! But I am really glad to read what you said about the second batch. I just might have my slow cooker doing double duty! You are the best! So glad you’re here! Love, Mary❤️😘❤️
I love all your bone broth videos and see that I had too many blips, blips, lol. The gas stove wont go low enough to do that but, I did think near the end to remove the lid and that did the trick. Have read somewhere that skin of animals has lots of collagen....if one cares to toss a piece in the pot that is:) Will try removing some marrow next time and putting it on toast, sounds intreging, thank you Mary!
So glad to hear that you are getting the hang of this! And happy to hear that you are enjoying the videos! In case you can get some short marrow bones, here is a video where I roast them for the marrow - delicious: th-cam.com/video/Lr1a_Xgst2M/w-d-xo.html Love, Mary
This was my problem with my gas stove it seemed like all the water were evaporating because I could not go pass “low,” on the stove, and it continued to bubble, so now I’m gonna try removing the lid and see how that goes....Thanx!
Hi Mary, I'm back to give you an update:) Tried the raw marrow and YES!, it is yummy! I'm not sure why the other one I tried was so awful, maybe marrow tastes different in different parts of the animal? And forgot to try it on toast but it's on the list now:) Oh, and I'm so enjoying Sally's two books, thank you! I'm going back to "primitive" eating and eating bits of raw marrow, meat and organs to get those enzymes etc. Tried a tsp size or raw liver, surprisingly good, heart and gizard too and enjoyed them all. They all went into the bone broth pot and since they were so tastey, I can imagine the broth will have even more flavor. Thank you Sweet Mary, I am everso grateful for your channel, hugs!
@@gutchiespencer2714 You will have great results but be prepared for it to take longer. With the lid off it's really slow going, but the results are awesome. I leave mine going for 3 days, I want all those nutrients, lol. It sure enhanced the flavor with the lid off, enjoy!

Will the oxtail bring a noticable different taste to the beef bone broth?
I know this is an old video but I can't find the video you mention that you worked out the cost compared to a store brought bone broth. Please can you help?
Thank you jo
Hi Miss Mary! You’re the most pleasant, kind person I’ve encountered on TH-cam! Such a breath of fresh air. Love your videos! Best - Adam ❤️
Hi Adam, Thank you SO much for visiting and thank you for the kind words!! You made my day!! Love, Mary
Ms😑😃😃😩😐😑😯😆ary's Nest g
I totally agree. You are so knowledgeable, resourceful, kind, authentic, you have such a positive and pleasant vibe that watching you and listening to you is nourishment to one’s soul. You are a blessing to your family and loved ones. God bless you 🙏
Agree. This lady just made my day way better ❤

Mary : you're the best teacher ! thank you so much !
Fabulous video, so well explained, a pleasure to watch, and now a pleasure to follow the recipe! Thanks again!

Wonderful vid! I’ve just had oral surgery and made this as my post-op nutrient sipper. Thanks Mary! ❤
I will be following you FOREVER now!!!😁😍💙🙏💙😋🤤🤗😋
Brightest Blessings💜
Thank you so much for visiting and for ALL THE KIND WORDS!!

Wow!! Thank you!!
I am enjoying your vides and how thorough you are. I never made bone broth before and I am watching various video to learn how to make it. Thank you.
Oh my gosh! Wish I found yhis video sooner! It would have saved my a lot of time looking for just the right beef broth. Thank you so much. Have a blessed week.
Hi I am using your broth to drink while doing a three day fast, wish me luck. Thank you so much for your detailed tutorial.
This is the absolute best bone broth recipe video ever !! Thank you thank you ! 😊
Oh Linda! I am so happy to hear this… And I love to hear that you’re enjoying using the fat separator. Isn’t it amazing! Love, Mary❤️🤗❤️
Love, Mary
Whew! Thank you, Mary! I'm glad I'm here.

Woow.. Its a nice explanation. Very very simple and clear. Thank you.
Oh my goodness! I cannot believe how I've been throwing away such good nutrition for so many years! I had no idea.

Stranger Horse - Thank you again for the kind words!! And yes...it’s so darn hot here!! LOL!!
@strangerhorse very true, at the lowest we probably get to around 50 degrees Fahrenheit where I am! Your current temperatures sound like mine here actually! Still cold enough to appreciate a good bone broth though 😂

I learned so much! Thank you! This is a wonderful video especially for beginners.
This tutorial is the best. Thank you soooo much
Very very informative thank you so much.
@@strangerhorse5209 - Excellent point! Thank you for sharing that. Yes, if folks are sensitive to wines, vinegar is the way to go!
Good job Mary!! Love it!!💖💖💖💖
KK Keller - Thanks!!❤️😘❤️
My store only Carrie's marrow bones will that still work for a good beef bone broth that's gelatinous
I think yes.
Mary I drink the wine when I make broth!
Best teacher ever on YT!!!!
Can I blend all veggies in! It would b delish. Does it affect taste or nutrition? I dont like it so watery.
Hi Carmen, Thank you so much for all the kind words!! Yes, you can blend the veggies in the bone broth to make a cream style soup. Love, Mary
Oh what a beautiful dog!! ❤❤🙌🙌🐾
KK Keller - Thank you SO much!! She is a darling!!❤️🐶❤️
!!!WOOO!
I love all this information!! Thank you SO much for sharing this!!
Interesting video. What are you basing the idea on getting your minerals from vegetables from? I have always understood that meat and marrow are the most dense in minerals.
Lovely tutorial. So pleasant. New Sub!!
Do you have a print out of this bone broth recipe
I have red wine vinegar. Would that be okay to use? It seems I love this recipe. Thank you
Hi Mary thanks for your good work and sharing knowledge. I hope to see more recipes that can be made in a pressure cooker particularly, as well as slowcooker----any method that does not produce heat during this coming summer.
Try roasting them bones with tomato paste on them, oh baby it takes on a whole different dimension
Ugh!! So I freeze what I am not going to use within a week or two. BTW - Do you enjoy making other traditional foods in addition to bone broth? You may have already seen these but if not...I have a playlist of some of my videos titled "Mastering the Basics of Traditional Nutrient Dense Foods Cooking". Mary is a wonderful teacher. Good question and observation from you. Also you may consider dry canning and just refrigerating if you use it up before your next batch. Cheers.
Had you tried to add 1 tsp virgine olive oil (first) and 1 tsp hemp oil. It prevent some of the skim on the top during boiling.
Hi. I'm not sure if I can get ox tails in Australia

Good morning ms Mary I have a question is bone broth good for one who have R A I tried to look on Google couldn’t find an answer
Some people say that bones need to be blanched first. Is that step necessary?
You can certainly do that, but I think it’s better to simply soak them in acidulated water for an hour before bringing them up to a boil, and then lowering it down to a simmer to make your bone broth. Any foam that floats to the top can easily be skimmed off.❤️🤗❤️
Love your series! Posted on my page for my clients to enhance their " Kitchen Knowledge!" xoxoxo

Which is better for broth in u're opinion? Slowcooker, Instant Pot or on the stovetop?
If i get a cow butchered what size packages and how big of cuts do i ask for ? Should i ask for the ribs and whole back bone?
May I use the meat left on the bones to add to my soup? Please show me how you drink your bone broth at breakfast? (Do you drink it as is, or do you dilute it with water or is there something else you do?) Thanks

Thank you Mary GOD bless you
I was your 900th "like" on this video! :)
Thank you! And welcome!! Glad you’re here!! Love, Mary
When simmering the broth for 12hrs on low do we keep the lid on the pot?
No, keep it tilted. ❤️🤗❤️
How long can you keep bone broth in fridge? Can you freeze it?
Very new to bone broth and listening to the video to learn how to make it. My question is: if you end up with a broth that is too gelatinous, is it better to water it down a little during the cooking or can it be done after? I am learning to make various broths in view of bariatric surgery, and as part of the liquid diet. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing ❤❤
I got a lot out of this video. Thx Mary! I’m wondering if cooking the second batch of bone broth longer would cause it to get more gelatous?
@Sarah Hulsey ppl
Mary do I wash the bones before cooking them?
And forgot to try it on toast but it's on the list now:)
Oh, and I'm so enjoying Sally's two books, thank you!
Tall Cedars Thank You, my love👏🏽
can you pressure cook this to make it store longer
Hi a quick question what if I just sieve the bone broth without the cloth will the fat come out
A bit will be fought by the cloth but not all of it.
