I'm only 13 years old, yet I deeply resonate with how you feel, it's insane having to wake up days crying because of this ongoing simulation of being insulted and antagonized, only when you're doing the opposite for them. I could only imagine though, going through all of that yet get paid so low for how highly you efficiently work and do your best to help and comfort people who are in need of it. I really, really do believe you'll get through this, because for every situation you enter, there will always be an exit as well. I hope to see you do better and I will keep up with upcoming videos if you post. ✊
as a young person, this is a sad future for me to see. i’m not focused on school, i’m putting everything into music and not looking back. no one can convince me that this is better than 100% following your dreams
Do yourself a favor and please learn a trade, or learn a useful skill preferably with a certification. College is useless unless you're going in for Law, Medicine, a hard science. Business degrees are worthless, liberal arts majors are worthless.

it was nice just sitting and listening to u talk, you don't really get these types of videos anymore. sorry for ur struggles and i hope u keep ur head up high man :)
I quit my job on 4/17 after having worked on Wall Street making 200k+ for 7+ years. For me, I suddenly realized how the chase for more money and status changes you into someone you can no longer recognize. Clinging to these ideas that one needs money, a romantic partner, a house, a group of fair weather friends, etc are the root of all suffering. Buddhism explained all the things that I knew to be true in my heart, so I've embraced it. The only thing holding you back from finding lasting contentment are the ideas which were implanted into your mind by others.
Feeling for you dude! Nurture your friendships, old and new. If you can, try to find a way to spend time in nature (although I know it can be hard geographically sometimes), even if it's just a nearby park or something! Sending love.
hey man, I appreciate you putting yourself out there and making this video; it takes a lot to talk about all this and the struggles of being unhappily employed. You seem like a really well rounded nice guy and I wish you all the best and there's more to life than work and I hope you remember that cause life is temporary but death is permanent so we should enjoy. keep your head up and keep moving forward; things will get better and you will find something that you enjoy.
i wish you all the best Cameron. may the lord help your wings fly high and reach your dreams and shoot for the moon, because if you miss, you'll land on the starts
I feel for you brotha. You literally brought me to tears. I haven’t gotten as far as you, but I am headed there. I’m 22 and I live with existential dread that I won’t find something that makes me whole in life. Thank you for making this video, it’s making me rethink a lot…
You got to explore other opportunities/passions as a side hustle to make these jobs bearable. It will also give you a chance to be in control of something outside of your job. In my opinion, a full-time job means professionalism and performance is more important than morality. The reality of the corporate politics you talked about strips away our moral reasoning of why we're interested in the first place. These colleges were created for the purpose of creating qualified employees for businesses. The only way to succeed is to experiment with finding new jobs as much as you can until you find the right work/life balance. Keep your head up man and never stop searching.
I feel you man. I’m 23 in a similar position trying not to crash out of this bad job. I can’t afford to finish my degree yet so I’m trying to get certificates at home. Stay strong man the country’s in bad shape rn.
I went to high school with very well off kids and it sucks because I can’t even compete with that. Their parents give them money to fix their issues, they give them jobs starting at 70k…mean while I have to put in some much effort 50hrs a week to make half that. My ex finished her degree in may to be a teacher and she’ll be making less than me! It’s all pretty rigged. I have to hold out hope for us both. Things have to come together eventually. Just keep going man.
I hear you brother and sorry you have had to go through this. I’m 24 and work for a mobile network, I’m on minimum wage, and get no bonus or commission for my sales. The amount of work my company expects of you is ridiculous for the terrible pay. Sorry to say but there is no such thing as a company that cares for its staff.
I’m 20 and I’ve struggled a lot these past couple of years. To spare the long explanation just a lot of personal stuff happening in the background. This has helped me and this video resonated with me a lot. I won’t go and fill out a bunch of platitudes or try to give advice. More than anything it just felt important to say is that this came at a very similar point in my life. It’s hard to realize the impact we have on each others lives but this video made an impact on mine. I’m rooting for you thank you for making this and being so vulnerable and open.
It is indeed sad. It's why I'm not in college now. I'm going to hopefully get educated through the military because I'll be guaranteed a higher job through it. I have a bunch of friends / acquaintances starting college now and some I don't see succeeding in a college profession
Hey man everything in this country is fucked. Focus on bettering yourself and if you have a passion for helping others do it anyway you can because every detail matters. Don’t forget to help yourself out sometimes too.
keep choosing to live and work towards finding your happiness. i have struggled for a bit, and gave 100% to improve my situation. it is starting to pay off for me. i believe you will find a way
30 year old pmhnp here, feeling the same way. it's been difficult making money and paying rent in this environment, even as an NP, outpatient feels very unethical because of these big businesses buying up private practices and making you see 18-24 patients a day. we were advised in school to do 30 minute med reviews and 1 hour initial evals, but all these companies expect 15 minute med reviews and 30 minute initials, how the hell do you handle suicidal ideation or homicidal ideation in 15 minutes?! Considering quitting and just finding a low wage job i actually enjoy. But it's difficult feeling like i'm throwing away a potential high income and stable life. Can't get a stable income because i'm paid by the patient, they dont schedule enough patients yet expect me to dedicate 40 hours a week to them, with noncompete clause in the contract, and half the patients dont even show up. My patients make more off their disability income than I am right now
Cameron, first of all, you look good- so adult like :)You kids grow up so fast. Im sorry you are having trouble finding a job you love. It's hard and sometimes even jobs you love have bad days or aspects to them. Sometimes you have to start somewhere and work your way up- which you can. Maybe you should go get your masters to be a therapist (then you could make more $ as well) Heck if McDonalds puts money towards education and pays well, why not try it? Its a social job, you like to be social, interact with others.... you might like it. In fact, I honestly can see you as a viral sensation.....playing cowbell while flipping burgers-- something like that. You have potential and you can get through this. Its common to be unhappy with a job or finding one you truly love. but remember. Happiness is an inside job, always. You cant make others happy either. Im glad you recognize the job was making you go crazy so thats not healthy either. I wish you the best of luck finding the next job. Life can be shitty but keep working through It ok? My 4.5 year degree Never paid as well as my sisters 2 year degree either. Its just the way it is man. Head up! Turn on some Earth Wind and Fire. Tomorrow is a new day.
Not sure if you remember me, but I wanted to say so much of what you speak is truth and I agree with everything you said. The job hunting scene has become so much of a nightmare that if its not either sending in hundreds of applications then not even getting double digit returns or much less reaching interviews, that it then becomes what you talked about. A job that makes one miserable, that treats its workers like they aren't human that have lives of their own. There's so much more I would love to say in agreement to you in the state the world is in rn but I don't wanna end up making my comment way too long. However, I want you to know that I am here if you ever wanna talk. I hope that we can maybe hangout again someday and catch up. You've got a fighting spirit, I'm so sorry you've gone and had been going through this.
I would be homlesss if i quit my job only thing that would stop me from being homless is if j get a million monthly views on youtube but thats reallg hard im saying if j quit my job id have to rely on getting a million views

I remember working in a lot of jobs where I wanted to make a difference and my coworkers and the politics burnt me out.

kinda sad to realize that an college education and excelling/graduating isn't going to guarantee you a legitimate job with your desired degree

So frustrating. I can’t believe you were only making minimum wage! Just wondering, could you start your own practice?
It's something I've thought about, but I don't have the money for that type of thing.
