the sad thing is for most of the people who bought into this, this is their validation to their friends and family why they took out a 2nd mortgage for this game. a tiny, out of context video of a buggy driving around. I'm gonna tell you right now, there isn't a chance that this was taken in a "real time rendered earth" and this is honestly just the devs blowing smoke up our ass. If it was anything close to the "Ready player one" experience they've been feeding us then they would have shown it immediately, and the fact they think all they need to do is show a buggy driving around on some random terrain shows how little the devs think of their core audience. And with people ive seen on stream with you, they're gonna eat this up and publish videos about "NoW EaRtH 2 Is nOt A ScAm AnYmOrE". Its incredibly frustrating and ultimately feels pointless to even communicate to these people.

Let's be honest, most of those who are in E2 now don't care about videogames. They're only interested in trading Tiles and making a quick buck. And the few who think it will be a real game, well, that's their fault too. If it's not E2, they would spend their money on magic stones or d/*ck growth pills.
To be honest, I don't doubt this is 'in-game footage'. Nothing here looks even remotely ground-breaking. Using height map data along with procedural generation is nothing new. The new microsoft flight sim doesn't actually use that much ground-breaking tech (minus maybe the weather simulation) that a small dev team couldn't implement (albeit without the graphical fidelity). The scam part is not the earth rendering, it's the 'Ready Player One' aspect to it.

Our generation is really lucky,my father has lost 100k + equivilant for now money on land-scams.
I work for the Healthcare industry as a Surgical Tech, the only thing I have seen that is remotely the price it should be has been some of the specialized surgeries we do (I work for a trauma 1 hospital) and our burn ward. The reason, lets say for our Neurological surgeon, we have only 2 Nuero surgeons, they are rare AF, and likely out of the surgeons that do shadowing, out of 5 classes of 20, MAYBE 1 will go on to be a Neuro Surgeon, and we have the share them, as we are in a metropolitan area, with a Hospital to our North. Cardiac surgeons, I hate to say it, they are a dime a dozen, Ortho, a buck will het you a hundred, anesthesiologists, are quite a bit rarer, but when even the slightest miscalculation ends with a license revocation, all because the patient decides they would eat pasta in the morning, and didn't bother telling anyone, EVEN WHEN DIRECTLY ASKED "HAVE YOU EATEN WITHIN THE PAST 24 HOURS" I don't blame people for avoiding anesthesiology like the plague.

My gallbladder went out on me at 19 and I spent 6 months going to different doctors and just having them tell me to go gluten free instead of actually try to test for the issue. Now recently I've been sick since December and have just been written off as a false negative covid patient. Spend a month trying to get in to a doctor to have them walk in the room and charge an arm and a leg just to tell me I'm putting them at risk and shouldn't be there.

Oo hey, I was just playing around with a very similar demo... in unreal engine 5, takes like 20mins to set up an environment like this.
Edit, look at the destructible cars project from Unreal 4. Looks like they have used that for the car damage, so we have a free asset environment with a free engine, free player assets and a free car damage system.
Game dev here. This "Engine Physics System Showcase" is basically 2 assets you can get on the Unity asset store for less than 150 bucks, mainly NWH vehicle physics 2 assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/physics/nwh-vehicle-physics-2-166252 and another asset that I cannot remember that is a shader to do the mud effect, I remember it was used for snow when compacted as well, it's very well known, I just cannot remember the name.

He didn’t invest half a million, he invested a few thousand of his own money, took profits, took out his original stake and reinvested his profits. Some people make their own 🍀

Also seems to be a little greedy because I'm sorry if there's something you only invested $4500 and made over $600,000 and you don't pull the majority of that out the you have to be greedy and a little foolish. Even pulling half of it would be a total amazing ROI and he still would have $300k in game to invest which is still prob way more then others. I have doubts he could even be able to get that much out which if everything was on the up and up he should totally be able too.
Let's come back in 6 months and if it goes as I expect and we see lots of people lose money to this and he's still successful we can see how lucky he really is.

32km Im pretty sure is nathaniels world composer asset size limit. The asset is awesome for replicating a small slice of the earth, but proves absolutely nothing about the ability to replicate the ENTIRE earth. I feel like Nathaniel is being strung along too. His assets are quality. But Earth 2 is obviously scam... something doesnt connect.

legit i prefer the cartoon graphics so nice and colorful in most games brings a good mood to games "realistic graphics" often end up looking dull mind you can still make good graphics with the look i think horizon zero dawn does this for example looks great and somehow blends this in between of fidelity and cartoony
