This is a skill many of us that eat chicken and other poultry from the store, can’t do. So providing for your family by way of processing meat is something to be commended.

The reason I love your channel so much is your realness. You’re not afraid to share the good, bad, and the ugly. I can’t imagine how hard it is to process quail and then doing it on camera and sharing such an emotional moment with us takes guts. Thanks for all you do.

We ate grown, hunted, and raised food my entire childhood. The purple spots are bruising. It looks identical. I'd be willing to bet money. I know other folks didn't grow up that way. So Im lucky to feel confident in my knowledge. Hopefully, you will continue with it and get used to the different ways animals can look when dead. I dont know if we ever ate store food when I was growing up. Certainly not meat. We did get things like sugar and flour. Im watching you because my kids are teens now, and my dad just died. I'd like to maybe pass on some of the knowledge he gave me. Figured I would watch and see how it makes me feel all these years later. I always feel sad for the animals but grateful for the ability to feed my family. I married a city guy and kinda lost tpuch with my roots, but Im on my way back. Hopefully, I can interest teen girls.

Great video. I think it's great that you handle your own meat from beginning until end, so much more healthier than purchasing it. Grocery meat goes thru so many hands before it's placed on the shelf.

Hey Asia! Prior to Covid, we used to make our own raw dog food. You can freeze the organs for your dog and add a little to the dog food. Not too much liver though….very rich and can cause loose stools. Raw is healthy for dogs, especially if it is an animal you raised. Try it out. ❤

I commend your honesty, my father was a homestead in a urban area in the Caribbean and raised quail, chickens, ducks, geese and turkey, I learned to process meat at a very young age, is something that have to be done when you don't have refrigeration and want to eat meat. This process was done only when meat was to be cooked, usually once a week. Thank you for sharing.

I watched a little but then stopped. You are very brave. You are providing food for yourself which is a good idea. I'm just too sensitive. I would be sobbing. When my family processed chickens I did the meat cutting and chilling. I helped once with a turkey harvest but cried as she died so never again unless maybe my life depends on it. Be blessed.

Thank you for this demonstration. This is how food is processed. It happens all over the world. You handled the editing so its tactful and not gruesome. Greatly appreciate this lesson. One of my first cooking lessons was cutting up grocery store whole chicken. You want fried chicken this is what you do (1980s). With all the additives in today's meat & FDA loopholes in commercial processing; homestead process is something to consider. So glad I tuned in this morning.
