    Hi in Trinidad we call roselle sorrel the fruit is boiled with spices like cinnamon, bay leaf and glove to make juices (add sugar according to your preferences) the fruit can also be used to make jams or jellies. Ensure you remove the pit of the fruit and just use the petals of the fruit. Hope this is helpful. 😊 I do enjoy your videos.

    Thai basil is my new favorite. I just put my basil in ice trays with a little water and freeze it. Then put it in a zip lock.

    So glad that I found your channel. I use to think that I couldn't garden because of the small space I have. You have showed me that this is simply not true. I am so excited to do more research and start my garden next year! Thank you for the motivation!
    FYI: sometimes ants can be a sign of those annoying pests called Aphides. They suck the sap of trees and plants which can damage them. They leave behind a sticky "sweet" residue ...which attracts the ants. Cant stand them!

    • @YellowDoorUrbanHomestead
      @YellowDoorUrbanHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m so happy to hear that! Good luck with your research and happy planting/gardening!
      I do have. Some aphids. I kinda let my ecosystem take care of things. It is frustrating at times but they haven’t taken a plant out so I let them be lol. I do the “let it be “ thing a lot in my garden 🤦🏾‍♀️🤣.

    Have you ever thought about the bed being deficient in nitrogen? Soil test? It triggered the thought when you said your fall vegetables love it, but the other seasons struggle. Is it possible that the fall veggies have leeched nitrogen to the point that the spring/summer plants aren’t getting enough of the early nutrients for them to get good growth or to the point of fruiting? Even if there is sufficient phosphorus and potassium, if the plants can grow the leaves to support the plant growth, they won’t produce. Just a thought. It may be worth soil testing to see if something is deficient. Anywho, your garden still looks amazing!

    • @YellowDoorUrbanHomestead
      @YellowDoorUrbanHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว

      I had thought about that but I amend at the beginning of each season and use compost. I think I may have figured it out today. I have to pull my root balls out. The soil was like a mat of roots when I forked it lol. Thank you for the comment! And thank you for the compliment as well!

      Hi 👋🏾! No worries at all! I use it dried and fresh. If you use it fresh let it wilt a little and crush it some that the oils can come out a bit. If you use it dry you can just add it to the tea ball, strainer or bad and but it in the water. Once the water come to a boil remove it from the heat and let it steep for a few minutes. Maybe 10 or 15 minutes. The. You can remove it and enjoy! I usually use my leaves twice. Thank you for subscribing!!
