Hi, I'm new to your channel & just wanted to let you know I could watch you all day. You are so calming & sweet. Just wanted to encourage you to continue with your garden & channel. Thanks
Hi 👋🏾! Awww thank you so much! I definitely plan to continue! I got a little overwhelmed with all the new subscribers but I’ve shook it off now. Thanks again 🤗
Hi in Trinidad we call roselle sorrel the fruit is boiled with spices like cinnamon, bay leaf and glove to make juices (add sugar according to your preferences) the fruit can also be used to make jams or jellies. Ensure you remove the pit of the fruit and just use the petals of the fruit. Hope this is helpful. 😊 I do enjoy your videos.
As a girl from Brooklyn, I just want to say your garden brings me so much pride and joy. There’s nothing more beautiful than seeing someone who looks like me, from BK doing her thing ❤❤
So glad that I found your channel. I use to think that I couldn't garden because of the small space I have. You have showed me that this is simply not true. I am so excited to do more research and start my garden next year! Thank you for the motivation! FYI: sometimes ants can be a sign of those annoying pests called Aphides. They suck the sap of trees and plants which can damage them. They leave behind a sticky "sweet" residue ...which attracts the ants. Cant stand them!
I’m so happy to hear that! Good luck with your research and happy planting/gardening! I do have. Some aphids. I kinda let my ecosystem take care of things. It is frustrating at times but they haven’t taken a plant out so I let them be lol. I do the “let it be “ thing a lot in my garden 🤦🏾♀️🤣.
Never plant nightshades (tomato, eggplant, pepper, tomato, ground cherry) back to back. They can transfer diseases and pests. Good luck on your potatoes!
How eggciting your young chickies are beginning to lay. And I'm wondering have you tried the sweet potato leaves yet, just cook like spinach with garlic and onion soooooo good, loving your progress in the garden and watching you learn to preserve too, inspiring me even more.
It’s very eggciting! I have tried the sweet potato leaves. I’m not a lover of spinach but they were good. I’d eat them again! Thank you! I’m happy to hear you’re enjoying the videos! I learn something new every day!
Addressing the mosquitoes. I PURCHASED the lavender oil from the hair store and rolled it over my legs and arms, then took some rubbing alcohol and spreader it over the oil allover
How nice, so many different things happening in this garden! When you cover your uses for the herbal plants and those flowers (like the Marigold)...I will taking notes for the ideas! What a wonderful Garden. Thanks for sharing. :)
Looking niiice! Start your pepper bags out with generous Blood meal when you build soil. Pick off early flowers till it reaches about 1ft. Then top dress with bone meal when buds start showing 😉
O yes to pesto! It’s delicious! I plan to make a batch at the end of the season when I have to harvest. I’m drying it right now. Let me know how you like it! Thank you!
Have you ever thought about the bed being deficient in nitrogen? Soil test? It triggered the thought when you said your fall vegetables love it, but the other seasons struggle. Is it possible that the fall veggies have leeched nitrogen to the point that the spring/summer plants aren’t getting enough of the early nutrients for them to get good growth or to the point of fruiting? Even if there is sufficient phosphorus and potassium, if the plants can grow the leaves to support the plant growth, they won’t produce. Just a thought. It may be worth soil testing to see if something is deficient. Anywho, your garden still looks amazing!
I had thought about that but I amend at the beginning of each season and use compost. I think I may have figured it out today. I have to pull my root balls out. The soil was like a mat of roots when I forked it lol. Thank you for the comment! And thank you for the compliment as well!
@@YellowDoorUrbanHomestead I saw the other video and I see what you're talking about. That makes me think about some of my bags and taking a different approach with the beds going into the fall. I'm definitely good for leaving those root balls behind.
Your garden tours are always amazing. My garden is struggling the Texas heat. I only have a few okra and squash plants left in the garden. I’m trying to regrow tomato plants also. Stay Safe and Blessed!💞💞💞
Enjoyed the video . I grew Roselle last year made jelly, tea l, punch . And you get so many seeds. It has a lot of time it will live through some cold at least here in Tx it did .
Thank you! Ok, nice! Does it have a sweet taste? O nice…I’ll definitely be looking at saving seeds. Even better that it can last in a little cold! Thank you for the comment!
For the rosselle, look up Jamaican sorrel drink. It’s a lovely drink to make and you can flavour it a bunch of ways. I love mine with some white overproof rum. 😁
The roselle you can make a tea out of. We love it, we call it Jamaica in California. Dry it, then make a tea of it (best with sugar). I also heard you can make jam/jelly. I’m growing it too, hopefully I’ll get some this year.
Thanks for video. My melons are doing amazing where peppers were ok. Like you I will plant more again next year. Maybe different variety . Thanks for encouragement

Hello Asia! Awesome beautiful garden tour and congrats on the new "egg"!💖 My raised bed with the tomatoes and peppers did not do well; think the heat, up and down temps along with the canadian smoke did a job on them!
