Time to pick your main class for the Wrath of the Lich King classic!
After choosing role, pick a class and then spec, but beware of the overpopulating specs classes likenoaladins or warriors mages and rogues. :D
Nah, just take something that brings most fun for you, even if its just an elemental shaman.
Just a notice before we get into all of this. Facts in this video are wraped in humor side of it. This serves to roughly gives you an idea how each class and spec changes, coming to Northrend. For more detailed and in depth guide, stay tuned and check my upcoming videos on each class and spec.

Been playing on Warmane Lordaeron for 7 years now. Mind you, Lordaeron is the WotLK server with challenging content, and no P2W shop. So *all the gear has to be earned there, same with the achievements.* And it just so happens that i have a bunch of LoD characters (highest possible achievement for defeating Lich Kind Heroic). A 6.9 Ret paladin, a 6.7 Fwar, a 6.4 Fmage, a 6.5 BIS Cat, a 6.3 Enhancement / Resto Shaman and a 6.3 Spriest / Dpriest.
With all the experience i have under my belt, i can tell you without the shadow of a doubt that if you want the most sought after class in the game, this is hands down the paladin. Again, very important, i'm not saying that it's the best class of all, but it is for sure the most sought after.
As a Holy Paladin, you are the the facto tank healer in the game. All 25man raids are gonna have 2 Holy Paladins. As a Ret Paladin, not only do you deal very good MDPS, especially with shadowmourne (14k+), but you also have the most support in the entire game as DPS spec : HoF, HoS, HoP, Aura Mastery, LoH, etc... Each 25man raid has always 2. As for the Protection Paladin, they're almost a mandatory tank, so you'll almost always have one.
which means that in a 25man raid, you have at least 5 Paladins total... which is nut if you think about it because no other class in the game has all their specs desirable to the same level the Paladin has.
For example, no one hardly ever specs as Holy for a Priest, or as Elemental / Enhancement for a Shaman... No one needs a Prot Warrior as a Tank in a serious 25man raid. No one plays Subtlety as a Rogue, and Assassination is very rare to see in a raid. You also never see Frost DKs because Blood DK tanks cover all the raid buffs that a Frost DK would, so they're useless...
And so as you can see, a lot of classes in the game have specs that are not desirable, or just plain bad.
This is not the case for the Paladin, all 3 specs are very desirable, very sought after, and very effective.

Hunter is a very good choice since its very unuiqe gameplay
Pick warlock:
1.-Edgyboi caster with a cool dark theme
2.-Has free mounts
3.-Pets that can tank for you and give you company (ehem succcccubus)
4.-Less mana problems than the rest of the casters because of life tap
5.-Dominate pve with an spec that can top the charts (affliction) or give insane utility through raw spellpower to everyone in the raid (demonology)
6.-Destroy everyone in pvp as a destruction warlock
7.-You dont run away from people, you fear people so they run away from you (Thats for you mages)
8.-They are just cool
9.-Cry when you have to fight warrior

What I've noticed now on my fresh server (Thekal EU PVP) is the lack of warriors and shamans, both weak leveling classes and more at the bottom of the tier list of their respective roles.
Been playing mainly Hpal and my alt Ret since classic vanilla and I won't stop it . I'm just so fucking excited for Wrath.

I chose demonology Warlock simply because I love summoning minions big and small. I love the concept of summoning either a horde of minions or one big minions, or even both if possible, to fight for me. Makes me feel like some sort of dark lord. This very same reason is why I am thinking of going unholy Death Knight later down the line

Struggling to decide between feral cat main / bear as second spec or whether to play mage as main.. will definitely play both though.
Hard to tell, indeed. I guess, youll have to put it into melee or range dps and weigh which one would you prefer most :D
Besides, druid can be quite fun caster as well :D
I was torn between both these classes. On one hand mage in PvE plays Arcane first half of the expansion and fire the second half. In PvP they play frost mage utilizing all 3 specs. But then you are stuck waiting in DPS queue. So I chose druid as feral DPS is insanely challenging, bear tank is face roll for those fast heroic dungeons. If you get bored of tanking/melee DPS, you can switch to caster/healer without having to start a new character.
What do you mean fury needs high hit? They only need 5% hit + 3% talents (or 4% hit + 3% talent + 1% draenei aura). Their off-hand will be 100% hit chance during a heroic strike/cleave queue if you have 8% total. Which is the same as every other melee that isn't enhancement or rogue
I read the wrong patch notes. Apologies, you are right. It was late night when i was doing my research of fury through patches :D Indeed hit rating was a way of balancing them, but eventually they settled on -10% on damage done. :)

I really would like to play paladin. I think I have landed on it in TBC as my favorite class when it comes to fantasy, feel, and aesthetics. The problem is that I like being able to play the game maybe a bit more, and I don’t know how much I want to compete against the other mountains of paladins for wrath

I don't understand the appeal of paladins from a class fantasy perspective. It's the only class I really don't get. What is it about paladin you like from that perspective?

Interesting... your opinions are the opposite of most other TH-camrs I have seen talking on this matter. Lock is god their dps, disc priest is the second best healer (Just after holy paladin) in wrath, and there were a few other things that seemed a bit different.
How are warriors pvp wise in WOTLK I keep seeing that they Suuck until ICC.. how long is that in like months?

As someone who played a lot of retail and a lot of private server ... I am waiting on the warmane progressive server that is coming out.
This time i will really focus on 1 character only , i said that every single time and always finish with 6-7 character , but this time i will.
My first character was a warlock and i really loved it , destro lock from classic to cataclysm, but i dont think lock is as much fun in 3.3.5.
In Wotlk , Paladin are a lot of fun, best tank, instant queue , easy to play with, but i dont enjoy the melee aspect in pvp.
Priest as disp and shadow are very fun too, But i leveled priest way too many time.
This time i will play only 1 toon , Druid. Can queue as tank for instant queue and after i tried my wife druid and i had a blast to gear her moonkin. I was able to crit for up to 22k, my warlock or my mage never even came close to that ....

the only thing holy priest is good for in wotlk is using guardian spirit on dreamwalker when the paladin comes out of the portal phase... other than that, other healers does everything holy priest does but better

i love warriors but ill be depressed if i don't get invited to naxx cause we sux, right'? or can arms pump? i know hunters will be in a good spot every phase like warlock.
Im in a similar position. On top, there will be so many people playing plate DPS melees.... and DKs will just be better than warris most of the time until the end, so it will be hard to get raid spots as a warrior. And even if you do, the gear competition will be insane with other warriors, DKs and rets.

Do any of the Mage specs actually use Frostfire bolt as a main part of their rotation? That's a big deciding point for me.

I played a Hunter, DK, and rogue in wrath. Probably going holy pally and something else. Probably another rogue.
Nice! Thats more original i guess :D Starting as a rogue gives you an edge since you do get a decent spec to play from a start. Same with a paladin...they are just so fine
played warrior tank and boomkin / tree in wrath and then near the tail end levelled a rogue to 78, which i ended up maining for 10 years.
How was druid? Was thinking of boosting one because I tried playing in classic but leveling was a pain so I switched. Is it viable in wotlk?

My first time through was ret paladin only. I remember not getting much respect as retribution, but I shined in late game.
This time I’m gonna main a mage with a holy/prot paladin alt. But I intend to dabble with a hunter and resto Druid.
Mage is nice if you go with arcane rather than fire from start, since much like ret, fire shines with more crit for those insta pyros.
Resto druid is much fun, im playing with it currently, with almost endless mana :D
Hunter is fun as well in it's own ranking, wont shine always like firemage, but unlike firemage, hunter does have some raid mechanics to take care of, so it might rank it higher on fun and versatile scale :D
@@Volfey MM hunter in late ICC gear will definitely shine and pretty much match fire, as all icc 25 logs also reiterate, becareful of these clicking abilities content creators they dont seem to know what they are saying
@@Volfey Rets damage pretty much entirely comes from T10 2 set and Tiny Abom trinket from Putricide, before then theyre brought for buffs only
Im having trouble deciding between rogue and warrior.. I like both in classic and tbc in both pve and pvp but im a little worried the rogue could be much worse than warrior in pvp
Heya! I cant tell which one will be more populated. I'd personally say that they are really close in potential, then it just circles down to a player, if you are able to pull all that potential from the class.

ive played over 10k hours of wotlk. warrior has better substained dps and rogue has a bigger burst potential. on long fights, warrior will be better, and on short fights rogue will be better. throughout wotlk, warrior and rogue are both top tier. ive seen alot more warriors than rogues. i found that rogue was easier to gear too.

Idk if you'll answer but what would you say is bis race for hunters for wotlk for horde I don't know what I should go as
Orc, followed closely by troll. Orcs get a 5% damage buff for their pet, as well as an attack power CD. Trolls get a haste CD, which is good for a burst phase. Pretty sure they get bow expertise, too, but I don't think BiS for hunters is a bow.
@@jamesp877 Depends on the content regarding BiS item. Hunters also have increased crit chance with bows. The haste really is insane, and pets (outside of BM) dont do as much part of the hunters damage as before wotlk so troll really is competitive with orc. I actually really dislike how imbalanced the racials are. I dont want to play orcs anymore, but even if i say !i play only for fun" this time i cant get over that itch that im making a bad choice not playing orc or horde in general (want to play alliance this time but.... man the asthetic alone of troll hunter is so cool)

I want to main a healer, but i can not decide between druid, sham or priest!
Oh i loved rdruid its just so versatile and full of potential.
Priest has 2 healing specs and it can be quite fun, i intend to continue playing priest from tbc into the wrath.
Shaman on the other hand, they dont change much coming from tbc, just another instant heal on longer cooldown. They are strong and get stronger towards the end, but if you want my personal suggestion, druid for easy playing or priest for more challenging gameplay, since disco will be in demand as well towards thr endgame
Back in original wrath was mage. Now in classic tbc playing a hunter. What i am thinking for next wrath classic? I am between 3 choices. 1. a new class like a rogue (played casual in past)
2. Back in mage (put tbf need a change , cause played mage like 15 years) and 3. stay on hunter.
Tbf i like to be in top meters or at least high.. and i know how to do it with mage. But reading good things for rogues and i always had in mind melee classes. As about hunter, changes are really cool but think that maybe fall behind
Ahh more or less for the hunter part. It was pointed out that MM hunters reach nice numbers towards the end of expansion. Not as good as BM in TBC, but right under warriors.
Rogue is actually more fun in Wrath, compared to TBC, i gave it a shot and enjoyed. Awesome for questing and farming, plus it somehow keeps up the damage throughout the expansion, with different specs tho.
I see that you are good with mages, and it does offer a sense of comfort, but hey, this is going to be wrath classic, game might be same, but it's up to us to find that classic fun as well :D
I also played mage for 15 years, tried other class on other expansion but somehow always getting back to mage eventually 😂 it s so flexible and dynamic

the only two classes i havent played in tbc are priest (specifically really interested in shadow spec) & mage. can't decide which one to main for wotlk
mage is always fun just because you can port yourself and others when you are just chilling in town. make that money! haha
I really want to try feral druid dps in wotlk but I hear its really hard to play :/
It is hardest out of melee specs for sure, but not impossible to learn, just start practicing sooner than later :D
What should be so hard with feral? Keep up dmg buff, dots and shred.
@@davidkostic4353 the energy economy i presume, should you wait second for DoT, or should you slam the shred, renew the mangle...etc. I guess it's not hard to learn as much as its hard to master

Shaman had simple rotation in TBC..? Compared to what? Maybe elemental/resto can be quite simple for the most part, but so are every other caster/healers in TBC - many even easier than a shaman :).
Enhancer on the other hand: Twisting 2x air totems, 2-3 fire totems (ofc depending on the fight sometimes need to twist 2x earth totems to slow enemies down) and making sure people are in the range of your totems, syncing weapons - that has to be done pretty much every time you change target or get out of the melee range, using 2 different types of shocks while keeping in mind that they lack spellhit to keep the DoT up, sometimes offhealing, mana management harder than the most classes have etc so I'd even argue it's one of the most active rotations there is in TBC :D
Yeah, i totally meant ele and resto, since previously i mentioned how actually "twisted" enha rotation can be, especially for first time enha players.
Yes, pressing totem twist macro and keeping up 1 dot while spamming earth shock/fire nova totem/2nd fire totem/stormstrike off of CD was super hard. Mana management hard since when? U get water shield lmao and u can go resto tree for extra hit and reduced mana for twisting. If you're still going oom your gear either sucks or u need to downrank to wf 1. Syncing weapons also can be done with a macro taking you maybe 1 second before the boss. Enhance shaman was braindead in TBC .
@@courtesan8784 It's still harder rotation than most other classes have - remember that you'll need to sync 'em each time you get off melee range.
For example warlock rotation: Press 1x 5min curse and spam either seed or shadow bolt.
Mage: Spam arcane blast and use mana gems/potions/evocation to keep your mana up, maybe have to change into frostbolt rotation at some point.
Warrior: Smash the shit out of your keyboard and you'll do fine.
You comment shows you either play warrior/mage and have no clue how enhancer works.

Thats quite tough one, indeed. I guess warlock is more alrounder with life tap so you dont worry about early progression,.but priest has healing offspecs that can come in handy sometimes 🤔

Ahh, nothing too wild. Wotlk configured Grid for raid frames. Xperl or Zperl (dont know exaclty) for portrait. Classic stock Blizzard actionbars/windows and Quartz for Castbars. Also Cooldown Count for abilities.
MSBT scrolling battle text i think it's called for incoming and outgoing hps/dps/damage :)
I didnt play tbc but do play classic now. If they release a fresh server (so everyone lvl 1) I'll def play wotlk :D

100% blizzard won't release a fresh wotlk classic server, it will be just like tbc and everyone (including dk) will be 70 and p6 geared on launch
I do believe less and less into fresh wrath, sadly...Although i am interested in how they are gonna equip DKs into all this. Maybe raise it's level requirement to 65 or something :D
Anyway, i believe that wrath, for sake of wrath is worth playing, but if you dont feel like catching up with all these gold mules, i can understand :D
They won't do fresh, but its so easy to catch up in this game. If you're worried about money, just pick up herbalism and mining and if you're level 70 by the time wrath comes out (which is easy to get to) you will make so much money farming the new materials.

If I remember correctly from my raiding days in wotlk wasn't dk, warlock and shadow priest on top of dmg meters? Or was it huntards. I remember healing with bubble priest was OP as fuck
Hard to tell, Wrath did a lot of balancing and optimizing for each spec and class (apart from endgame warriors :D ) and players back in the days were somewhat less competitive and experienced to a point where one good player from entire raid setup would maxout his support role to overcome expectation, thus creating false positive of how good spec actually is :D
Resto Shaman, that's it.. easy peasy.

@@Aphorism89 I dont know what it has to do with "safe", but its true there is just something differently about playing on official servers. It just doesnt feel the same on a private server, even if the pserver is blizzlike, i cant describe it. Also, i guess the pservers are so insanely saturated at this point that the min/max culture is really just gross (but it will become like that eventually on official servers as well)

@@bloublou40 Nice! Depending on how immersive you want your wrath experience to be, i would suggest hunter since it has lot of cool abilities and actual mechanics in raids that good hunter has to take care of. So i guess its challenging and fun.
Warlock and mage on the other hand are pure pump dps machines. They are ranged dps as well as hunter, so thats not big difference :D Warlock has different specs and metamorphosis gimmick that looks very cool and mage can have insta pyros later on. :D
Also depends a lil bit on which part of expansion you want to focus on :D
Holy priest was by far the BEST healer, hands down.
My background: I played on the top server guilds through 5 good years, from BC til after WotLK. World top 40/50 through end of BC and all WotLK. Always as a holy priest (Disc on HCLK). BAck the nat least, world top 40 meat you play every day and you raid 4/6 hours 4/5 days a week... Todays classic versions are but a shadow of what BC was, and probably WotLK wll experience the same.
The only spec that ever came close to me in HPS was resto druid, and mostly through TotGC. We recruited an exceptional player but she left us soon after.
Holy was not only able to pull incredible aeo healing, it was able to tank heal pretty well, direct and indirectly. Renew, PoM and a flash here and there. You could Flash down on the tank if needed to for a time and then GS was God level. All of this, whilest being the last on overhealing, easily.
Truth be told, most healers can do great in WotLK if you know the fights. You have your own tricks ofc, how to land your AOE half a second after the aoe damage hits the raid, etc. But HPS and utility wise, nothing came close to a good holy priest.
Mana issues... what? not at all, never past mid of Ulduar really. Now in BC I see a funny trend, healers going nuts on Healing power, instead of spirit/mp5. Of course, are ramping through content now so it makes sense. Back then, that would be foolish... smaller heals > big heals, when you can continue healing 4 minutes longer thanks to a high spirit (which in many cases translates into healing power anyway)
Holy is great, i'd still prefer Holy pally / shaman (lust, totems) and disc personally though.

Totally agree here, holy priests have the highest HPS when mastered, especially in fights with high aoe damage. I also never had mana issues. Also check out world first ICC HC Lich King kill, guesd which healer ended on top..

@@praytje87 from a healer perspective, healing meters require more investigation than who 'topped' the meter -- holy priest excel in beating other healers to the heal and others usually end with massive over-healing meters and then you also have to consider buffs and other synergies (holy paladins and shamans provide, disc priests) -- yes you definitely want at least 1 holy priest in your raid, but in no means do you just want to stack holy priests.

Why does every video on this topic screw up it's aproach? This one completely missed pvp side and considered already playing tbc the norm. I have to asume malice instead of ignorance in these cases, not that it would help much otherwise.

My struggle is between my old love, ret paladin, and the enhance I rolled during tbc to help out the guild. Was dead set on returning to ret, but it is supposedly really faceroll and boring, while enhance is said to be really challenging and rewarding and just a ton of fun to master. Ill prob spend most of prepatch trying to decide
That’s exactly where I’m sitting. I also play alliance and I’m not a fan of Draenei model / animation. If I could play human enhance I think I’d jump on it no question. But I love the theme / style of ret. At least I found someone in a similar situation lol
I just want to be a dwarf enhance again like I am in retail 😭

holy priest is better than rshaman. Kicked a lot of rshaman back than ( top 10 world guild ).
I mean for real the shaman is only good for lust. And for that 1 is enough

Lol every time this guy says 'Votulk' (reading WotLK as a word) it makes me laugh and at the same time triggers me immensely. To the point that I nearly had to just stop watching the video. Just call it Wrath man. Please for the love of sanity.
