You can tell when Hank Voight is on the scene. The air starts getting Arctic cold, foreigners with diplomatic immunity give in without a second thought, and evildoers who happen to be in the vicinity beat a hasty departure to southern climes like Florida.
If you'll notice the Feds were there to question them, local Law Enforcement would be allowed to remove weapons under specific circumstances (in this case, presenting a danger to the Firemen)
Not in this case as they brandished a weapon which is still a crime. So while they have heavy diplomatic protection they are not immune if they commit such a crime especially in the circumstances of what is going on.
Yeah, it's amazing how as a country we always side with the alleged perps, and the ones holding the smoking gun and yet we "just need to understand" them.
Would Shay be surprised if she heard that Severide is going to tear the mad bomber apart with his bare hands after he heard that Shay collapsed in the hospital if he finds out who planted the bomb?
While I can't say for certain how it works in the US, in every EU country the diplomatic security detail can only carry firearms inside the embassy grounds. Outside the embassy any armed security is provided by the host nation and if diplomatic security behaved in this way off their own grounds they would be "persona non grata" right quick and sent back to their own country.
The Chicago PD & the Chicago Fire Dept. could've had some help from the Illinois Army National Guard if they were called in by the Governor of Illinois to help with this crisis.
I have a question about Voight if anyone can help. So we were introduced to him in Chicago Fire when he was going at it with Casey. He was a "bad guy" who Casey had to battle. I heard (can't remember where I heard it from) that he was supposed to be a one-time character, but then they decided to make the show Chicago P.D and have him as a main character. So they switch it from him being a bad guy to him being undercover at the time. Is that right?
No voight is not a good guy. Hes a old school bad cop with his own set of morals. You see that in PD. He does get better over the years (though I havent watched since season 6
@@mukarrabali Well that's what I'm asking though. Was that part of the NOW storying line or has that ALWAYS been the storyline? If I'm correct we didn't find out about him protecting his son until Chicago PD. I heard he was supposed to just be a 1 off character.
@@playerschooljackson he probably was, but they saw potential for a spin off and used it. It was no secret that he was trying to protect Justin in Fire.
Okay but I think it's hilarious that every single fed arrives onscene at the exact same time... not to mention I saw at least 4 federal agencies in that one scene.
The paramedic who collapsed was fine. The found the bomber, who was in no way actually with the Syrian embassy, diffused a second bomb and rebuilt Chicago Med and made another new show.
If the Illinois Army Nation Guard had shown up in this episode, they would've saluted Wallace Boden if they got to meet him and heard that he was a United States Navy SEAL.
You know even if you have diplomatic protection, in intense situations like this you can still get in a lot of trouble if you flash a firearm at a fireman, paramedic, etc. Your home country could potentially waiver your immunity and you could be prosecuted if that happens.
OK, maybe people who know how fire fighters and first responders work can answer but.....why do they clear rubble by making a single file line that's like 12 people deep? I mean they're basically moving one stone at a time. Why not have like four or five guys digging at once?
She lost it in season 5 when her mom became a suspect in a case. She held a gun on a guy in interrogation room just as higher ups walked in. She needed to take job in NY or be fired. As of current season 10 she never was back on show.
Sorry but no, the moment he tried to detain a foreign ambassador with diplomatic immunity, let alone threaten to kill him his career would be over and the state department would literally have his entire team relieved of command, fired or prosecuted. you literally cannot do anything to an ambassador except for deport them, they cannot be arrested, they cannot be detained, they can’t be held. what a crock of a show.
Please Nayaamour, explain how and why you think this is racist, because I have watched both of these episodes many times and I have never seen anything in these clips that would make you think that.
@@stormsayce5432 if i had to guess they mean the assumption that the Syrian diplomat was the perp of the terrorist attack. however while i know thats common in fiction i think the ACTUAL reason PD pointed at the diplomat was because of their actual suspicious behavior (flashing their weaponry at firemen immediately *after* a terrorist attack)

Great Scenes.!!!Heartwarming People.
❤❤❤
😮i
Ahhh yes. The classic Voight "Try me Bee-otch." stare down. Voight rolls nat 20 on Intimation rolls always.
At this point, it might as well be a coin with the words "nat 20" on both sides
Lol pretty much XD@@carbonwolf3865
not one person on Voights team of pathetic posers is remotely intimidating Voight & Antonio so pathetic & insecure.
@@craighanson-rc1md Sounds like projection there
@@kuroakuma4459 lol really that's the best you can do when someone points out the truth.. Good for you think it up all by yourself...
That was one of the last 3-4 episodes that Shay was in. I miss her more than any other characters that have left Fire except Otis. 😭😭

Bruh. I did not just need to see the name “Shay” RIP.

fr tho but i new who it was by the boots
That’s why Chicago is alway freezing😂
These shows are so well written, acted and produced they come over as flawless.
I miss Antonio, Jay, and Lindsay so much
Don’t forget Al
Dawson as well

Epic crossover of Chicago PD and Fire
Fr both are the best shows
This crossover was insane
I love these crossovers
I love voight but if he actually did something like that to someone with diplomatic protection he’d probably be off the force
If you'll notice the Feds were there to question them, local Law Enforcement would be allowed to remove weapons under specific circumstances (in this case, presenting a danger to the Firemen)

Depending on circumstances
Yeah, it's amazing how as a country we always side with the alleged perps, and the ones holding the smoking gun and yet we "just need to understand" them.
I forgot Chicago med used to be filmed at a different hospital
Chicago Med didn’t even premiere until a year after this episode aired lol.
@@miranda13c yeah but these early episodes of Chicago fire served as back door pilots for PD and Med respectively
Such a lot of amazing actors❤ specially Hank Voight ❤
Yes hank is the worst boss in Chicago pd

He was never really a bad guy. Not a different guy to what he is now. He was just protecting his family. Very in character for Hank.

could've been a 3 way cross over with chicago md
Chicago Med is the name and that show hadn’t started yet when this was filmed.
Chicago Med premiered in 2015 and this crossover episode was in 2014.
Okay but I think it's hilarious that every single fed arrives onscene at the exact same time... not to mention I saw at least 4 federal agencies in that one scene.
Could of done a triple crossover with Chicago med.
They done one I think, Infection (parts 1, 2 and 3)
This was years before Chicago med was a show.
This was a year before Chicago Med was released. After this hospital was destroyed, the current Chicago Med was built.
1:21 Was that their very first appearance on Fire
Yeah if you don’t count Antonio jay and voight appearances before Chicago pd was made
How do you lift this up reminds me of 9/11 movie
I wanna know what happened next so badlyyyy💜
The paramedic who collapsed was fine. The found the bomber, who was in no way actually with the Syrian embassy, diffused a second bomb and rebuilt Chicago Med and made another new show.
with in 30 seconds of talking with the men in black coats Hank threatened their life's
it was a heck of a stereotyping... I'm sure there was some backlash against the production for that.
Better to ask for forgiveness I guess. Especially when one already threatened Casey.

What is this episode of Chicago PD? what season and what episode? 🙏🏻
What cause Shay to fall to the ground?
She was impailed on a metal pole. Should’ve gotten help but felt she couldn’t stop.
Shay 😢😢😢
"Let your relief do some digging."
Fire Commissioner had to give that instruction.
Just as he knew it wouldn't be followed.
If Gabriella Dawson was told by her brother that he's going to tear apart the mad bomber limb from limb, would she give Antonio her blessing?
