Stella was like a daughter to Herman they had a very strong relationship too but people keep forgetting that, severide has a very very strong relationship with kidd she was basically his everything, I see why severide is upset knowing that he lost many loved ones before

For those complaining about lack of action, this episode delivered. Cannot imagine the logistics involved in setting up a make believe fire in a real Chicago setting. Bravo to the production staff!

Actually, more dangerous than be a firefighter is being a sanitation worker. Believe it or not. They often get impaled by glass or metal fragments. They can get bitten by rats. Come in contact with corrosive or vile chemicals. People are impatient and drive around garbage trucks, sometimes hitting poor garbage men. Respect for all our public servants.

It makes for good TV but you're 100% right. You pop your mask off in that scenario and you'll inhale superheated gas and give your lungs 3rd degree burns. You don't recover from that...so, yes...doesn't matter what you come across, keep your mask on. We have other ways to give people extra breathing air or even a new mask of they need it mid fire. If you're interested, look up, Rapid Intervention Team.
