It works fine in a dive, and Gaijin should've kept it appear only at dive angles because issues started to be noticed only when they got drunk and decided that it is fine to let it appear at crazy climb angles. It is accurate sometimes on some bombs and sometimes it is not accurate at all, so in my opinion it is safe to say that bomb reticle is unreliable.
I definitely didn't depend on CCIP\CCRP indicator in this video, after one or two test runs I understand the capabilities of a bomb, so it is trial and error. For example it is fine to drop 500lb JDAM at 25km target from 10000m altitude with Harrier flying at 500km\h speed, and for the Chinese GPS bomb the strike will succeed if the target was at 18km distance and the aircraft altitude and speed are 5000m and Mach 1.
So it is about trying different parameters and doing multiple approaches to get the feeling of this bomb or that.

You should report the issue with Paveway and Skipper bombs not gliding or targeting correctly. Maybe you'll have better luck than me. I keep sending them videos and explaining what's wrong and they remove it.

This issue is not a bug I assume, so you might try to report it in forums as suggestion or something, not in the bugs website.

@@Hunter_i86 Speaking of the JDAM, now that these type of PGMs are here I hope we will see SDBs added to US jets, especially the A-10C. They can do GPS and Laser updates. My local A-10C squadron had a presentation where we learned all about that.

@@bush_diditto be fair though you are killing people using a vehicle that costs almost nothing to use and are slapping shit out of the sky that costs as much as 4-5 tanks JUST to spawn in. There needs to be more things that reward you but at the same time the balance between SPAA and CAS is batshit insane and unfairly leveraged in SPAAs favor, and unsurprisingly mostly in one single nations favor..
they also gotta fix SAMs not being able to shoot down bombs, its kinda annoying considering how fast they move

Bruh, everyone is hyped for the J10. But this thing is insane. Especially for a squadron vehicle. I'm flabbergasted at the value of this thing. (So far, the GE price will definitely decide whether or not you should buy it outright or not.)

3 days ago I made a bug report on the LS-6 to say that the J8F, JH7A, JF-17 and J10A can be equipped with the LS-6 no mod responded to me, I also made another report on the C-701 missile (maverick equivalent) 400 view, 342 signatory and still no modo to answer me… T-T, supporting document and photo...
I made bug reports on the new helicopter HMD - as for the Viper and Rooivalk, there is no rocket reticle inside the cockpit… also no answers

Considering Paveways and Skippers have been broken for around 2 years now making shit like the A-6E unusable, we can't even have the good stuff be functional. So I guess so.
They're so scared, the F-111F had its weapons nerfed/not add. The GBU-15 IR had a datalink and the agm-130 with datalink wasn't added. It also used the Aim-9Ms aswell but only has Ls

This war thunder update getting closer to modern day live conflict
Sad that they'll release stuff like this but gliding bombs like the Paveway II and Skippers outright dont function properly, dont glide, and dont target properly and this has made subsonic aircraft that use them almost unusable. Meanwhile supersonics can force them to work.
They broke them about a year and a half ago and despite me explaining thoroughly the issue and providing video showing whats wrong, it has been ignored and removed. Planes like the A-6E currently as well as the upcoming A-10 whose payload is mostly Pave ways are and will be pretty much incapable of even using them. The A-6 is outright unusable because its ONLY options are pave ways that dont work.
THATS WHY people need to stop spending money on this game. gaijin doesn't give a damn about the u.s tech tree.

Paveway and skipper both have their proper ballistics and glid ratios
the issue is that their seekers are nerfed compared to IRL
normally the laser seeker should detect the laser spot at up to 10-15km away, in game they only can see to 2.5km
this then means they dont properly track the target and only fall like a normal bomb.

Top tier is going to become unplayable, even more now with the add of JDAMS. What's the counter? S-800's? You spawn a jet and your RWR is a solid tone: LAUNCH. Then in 3 sec of spawn you explode, power creep is real. Then they'll add a E-6 B Prowler to ECM/jam the AO, then they'll add Akash type SAMs, and then they'll add ...
Think about it, what is the real difference between dropping 4x GPS guided bombs and dropping 4x TV Walleye on 4 multiple targets? When you set a target point, you'll see a small horizontal line appear on the bombing green vertical line with a circle in the middle, as the horizontal line moves down towards the circle, when it reaches the circle you can release the bomb and it would glide towards that set point you have set.

@@Zpmc69After playing some actual games with them since the patch dropped, I can confirm with a decent targeting pod and like two 500lb JDAMs, you can reliably kill SPAA in spawn, even pantsirs. The F-AV-8B plus in the US tech tree is good for this with its triple racked JDAMs, plus two mavericks for those pesky moving targets.
Although on the F-16C, you’re better off with just mavericks and LGB’s
they're not tracking a moving target so unless u are moving u are fine
It looks so cool, but it is way too early to put this in game, Gaijin should put it ingame with the AN/AAQ-33, bc we have weapons now that can be used IRL way further than how we are limited to.

I will try my best, the thing is copy paste planes are not motivating, if Japan had a modern Mitsubishi for example it would be nice.

Shouldn't the camera zoom be much bigger? I don't know the finer details but I'm pretty sure the zoom amount (basing off DCS can be incorrect) is WAY more than what is seen here.

Hi Hunter, sorry if I bother you, but I wanted to know - if I fly Su-25T with its TGP (Mercury IIRC) scope view is always in black-and-white, like I am using TV weaponry scope and not actual camera even if I don't take any weapons. When I don't use TGP, the scope view is normal. Is it a bug or a feature? And if that's a feature, why? I noticed that several months ago and made a bug report, but no answers from the snail yet, so maybe you know better, don't really know who to ask. Thanks!
Hello, mercury is a night vision device, don't use it if you don't play night missions, try it at night test fly and press N when on TGP view.

@@IronPhysik No they don't...lol OLD bombs did as a psychological feature. Most modern bombs resemble a missile more than a whistle. Watch and modern bomb strike with the camera close to the impact point. Modern artillery shells still whistle quite a bit. They can be designed to not whistle but some do. It's a faster and sharper whistle.

there is tons of footage showing exactly that, infact the game is lacking certain sounds like for example the typical "bang bang bang" that laser guided bombs make on their way down due to how their guidance system works.
the reasons bombs whistle is the mounting lugs, you even see them in this video in the camera view.
that ring that is usually held by the aircraft bomb pylon is a restriction in the airflow and causes a standing wave through the hole
that standing wave is a high pitched whistle like sound.

on NATO jets these are usually with 14" spacing for lighter weapons or 30" spacing for heavier weapons above 1000lbs.
