The best in my experience is to use Shturm missiles at their max range, 4-5km then pull off and repeat. 9.7 helicopters are the most challenging & fun in my opinion.

not gonna lie, su-25, or principally su-25m are amazing CAS plataforms.
I know, dont know why more fly the Su25M3...its bas 4 kills with the KH missles. You either run em with r73 just in case or get closerbut i just launch all rtb and repeat the same shit...got me to like 12/14 kills on a not so cloudy and a map that isnt that obstructed by buildings

I've been playing alot of the SU-25 lately, and I wondered how this video would go for you.
I'm glad to know I don't have a skill issue, as most of these clips are full downtiers with only 1 AA platform shooting at you if there are any at all. The 5:26 clip really goes to show how well this plane does when AA is actually blind. Getting to less than 2KM flying straight and high against a proxy spitter is insane.
I found the Rook to be absolutely god tier as long as the enemy only had gun AA's and if left alone, this plane can consistently kill entire teams. On the other hand, uptiers can be hell. Good luck against ANY optical track missile, let alone if the enemy has a fighter-bomber in the air that just dumpsters you in a fight or slams you with a PD track missile.
I've honestly gotten to where I just do not spawn this thing if I'm full uptiered. Because if you want to live you have to hug the ground, and the only strike opportunity comes when somebody is scouted so you can rake across them with rockets while praying that someone isn't pre-aiming the ridge you are about to fly over. God forbid you get spotted by a 10.7 + fighter, that's just death.
Good showing as always hunter, I was half expecting to watch you slamming SACLOS AA's from 7km with CCIP and dodging 35G optical track missiles. But luckily for my mental health, it seems even god tier players like yourself can't outplay BR compression.

@@Hunter_i86 I remember that one, to be fair, I'm only judging based on the loadout on this recent video as it's more like the one I run.
I'm not saying you can't just strap a bunch of 8km laser weapons and dunk on SACLOS by barrel rolling, I just think getting eye strain while using the 1x zoom is annoying , along with the fact that a single fighter/proxy shell AA is all it takes to keep you from using that approach.
I suppose my point is:
As long as you don't have to deal with too many types of threats at the same time, you can usually outplay the enemy. But in about half of the instances that I die in, it's either optical track/IRCCM missiles or SACLOS + proxy or getting tangled up with enemy air that inevitably kills me. I'm glad to see that most of what I've learned and what you've taught me simply can't compensate for BR compression simply because it means my deaths are less, and when they do happen, there's very little I could've done to avoid it. (except not engaging ever)
It's just a bit sad that "optimal" play in uptiers boils down to praying there isn't a fighter up, and then ratting around on the edge of AA range until a braindead teammate provides enough of a distraction to give you a window of attack. I prefer to actually assist my teammates on the ground and remove campers from their hidey-holes.

As a long time warthunder player, there are lots of aspects of the game i have mastered. But I still find myself struggling flying CAS. As many other players, AA always get me sooner or later. It would be amazing if someone made a proper guide on some tips and tricks to defeat and/or avoid AA flying cas. Perhaps giving som general thoughts and ideas aswell as some in depth analysis of how the different anti air vehicles of the various tiers work (i.e missiles, radars and so on).

I write tips in the videos, usually they are knowledge about weapons, of planes and SPAA, for example if your RWR says "RLD", it is either a Roland 3 or VT1.
VT1 is deadly while Roland 3 is dodge-able, VT-1 is 12km while Roland 3 is 8km max, the scenario BR should tell you what that "RLD" is, 2s6 is 10km 32G missile which is dangerous as well, my point is you need knowledge, a lot of knowledge about SPAA radars, planes RWRs, planes and SPAA weapons as well. That is if you want to prioritize SPAA like I do, some people don't care, they go for tanks and die after one or strikes.
When you go to battle take a look at the X-Ray of your plane, does the RWR has IFF? If yes you will know that any ping in the battle is from enemy, what type of "Fire & Forget" weapons you have? TV, IR, GPS, unguided bombs ... etc, use them to kill SPAA, and use the laser guided weapons to kill tanks when possible.

Try putting them on the inner pylons, to get them closer to the center of the fuselage. Also try firing the rockets on the outer pylons as pairs.

I still dont get why those two Mi-24's arent foldered they are the same helicopter in almost every sense minus one having a side mounted fixed gun

@@fluffthesergal7640 no none of them are but for the most part of what I can see basically every helicopter tech tree at least gives each helicopter something more useful even if it’s a slight upgraded variant say for maybe the Bo-105’s in Germany and maybe the UH-1’s in America

I play low sensitivity, 4% "sen in zoom" in WT common controls, it takes time to get used to but I like smooth aim and gameplay. Thanks a lot :)
What do you think about the heli changes? I find it impossible to play the "low tier" ones now, one .50 cal and the avionics are gone
It feels too much yeah, at least let us land on the ground and repair some of these avionics, without returning to base.

Hello, not effective. Carry 75% flares and 25% chaff. At least flares can sometimes disrupt IRST lock.

Any tips on how to grind modifications for the Su-25? I tried to bomb bases in Air RB but it was impossible due to plane's speed and I became food for fighter jets.
How do you switch from 3rd person to targeting view to third person so fast?
By default 3rd person camera is "F3" and for TGP view it is "F8" keys. I assume hunter swapped them to easier positions.
Because there is a bug with TV guided weapons. They are always before the TGP view when you cycle through views with "V" key. So if your TGP target is outside of your TV weapon fov, it changes your lock, breaks it and sometimes even disables the laser designator.
How do you spot tanks like that I can never find targets
