Misery finds out more about Lowe's history, and how he had to literally walk away from his life in Europe, with zero notice, when his mom was killed by the former Alpha.

Lowe has to go to California to meet with the former Alpha's mate, whom they suspect of many nefarious deeds. Misery volunteers to go with him, to plant tracking software on her computer.

Before leaving the plane, Lowe has to "scent" Misery, so she smells like him and is therefore protected. What occurs is maybe the HOTTEST non-sex scene ever?!

To avoid being caught after breaking into Emery's office, Misery has to bite Lowe and feed from him. She's never done that before, and it's way more charged than either of them expected, just as the scenting was.

They head home early because Ana is sick, and none of the Weres know what to do, since they don't get sick. Misery helps with her knowledge of Serena's medicine usage.

But shortly after that, Misery is poisoned via her secret peanut butter stash! Uh oh! Lowe is very territorial, and never leaves her side during her recovery...🥰
