    Thanks for the short and to the point review. 👍

    Thank you for the video. However, I found it is impossible to mount the plate horizonly into the harness like what you did. I am using CCS Universal Tripod Adapter Plate.

      Are you sure the arrows are pointing to the front and back on the almost round part and not left and right.

      @@stevengotzThe arrow is to the right as the picture shown at 31st second in this video. And did you use the exact same plate?I think you might add something on the plate before you mount it on the harness. Thank you very much!

    great system however, the harness rides up when taking the camera out of the vest. I thought they would fix it by now.

      I have this, and the shoulder straps can be altered, as inside the vest where they slip though, you can alter them, so the unit sits lower in the chest, I use it with a sigma 250/600, no problem.

      @@brendoncollins5887 Did you mean Sigma 150/600?I have the 150/600 sport and thinking about getting this harness.

    Do you know if it's compatible or suitable for a Gimbal Head tripod instead of regular tripod. I can't figure how I could attach the plate supply with Gimbal. I have a Sony 200-600mm lens.

      Is the plate a standard Arca Swiss?

    • @bobvila1010
      @bobvila1010 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! It's a 4" arca swiss plate. This plate slides in a 4" Gimbal clamp. To balance the lens, we just have to move the 4" plate move in and out on the Gimbal plate. As any Gimbal Head Tripod, the L plate of the Telephoto is attached over the 4" plate Arca supplied with the Gimbal Head.

    Does that put the camera body too close to your chin? I am considering this system, also do you find it to be warm in summer?

    • @stevengotz
      @stevengotz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not been bothered by the summer heat, but then again, I just moved to Northern Arizona and I will be out in a lot more heat than I was in Northern California. So I may find out that it is too warm, but I kind of doubt it.
      As for the camera body being under my chin, it hasn't bothered me at all. This is the only lens that I have that is this big.
      What I am having trouble with is looking at my chest with a mask on. I have to pull the mask down just a little to see how to put it back on the carrier. A little practice now and then helps, so that by the end of the day I can do it without looking.

    It looks like this system would not work well i.e. be comfortable for women.

      I'm a slight, short woman (51kg, 157cm) and it works really well for me. I have mine adjusted so it sits a bit lower on my body. I have used it with my 200-500mm lens but in general I am using my 70-200mm f/2.8 with it. I hike all day with it and it keeps my camera wonderfully secure, but close at hand. I have recommended it to quite a few women of different body types and all have been very pleased with it.
      I hope that helps!

      Looks stupidly uncomfortable for men as well.

    • @stevengotz
      @stevengotz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tomvana4270 actually, I find it pretty comfortable. Keep in mind you are seeing it with a crazy heavy lens. When I put a more reasonably sized lens like a 300mm, or a 70-200mm, it works even better.
      I just can't put a huge lens on a strap and have it around my neck. And on my waist can be a problem at a zoo with kids running around and bonking their heads on the lens.
