Wow! I like the idea of doing sand art in jars & you've really inspired me to do it myself, I thought I'd have to buy coloured sand online but you showed how you can simply colour salt, which is what sand is made of, by using chalk pastels. Thank you so much.

i remember as a kid i used a plate and put the salt on a paper plate and pushing the chalk around the salt
just wonder if the salt will be melted?
Can u suggest how to set/fix the sand/salt if you do not want to fill the entire jar?
how would you lock this image in place to be "shake proof" also, how to do the same for something made with quartz/silica sand?
