Tips from my own experiences with snow globe crafts: -If you use really hot water and glitter glue instead of loose glitter, it'll achieve the slow decent that you're trying to get with the glycerin without needing to add any glycerin. You'll have to stir it a lot, though, and the water will need to be very hot. Patience is key -You can use clear school craft glue instead of glycerin. Hot water will probably be needed (I haven't tried it with cold water) Just add it to the water with the glitter glue -A couple of drops of food colouring will tint your water in whatever colour you want- this is really nice to provide that extra detail to the snow globe Go forth and create :D
Charoula1608 What do you mean? If you're under the impression that the water needs to be hot for the entire duration of the globe's life, don't worry! Hot water is just needed to "melt" the glue so it mixes with the water and doesn't clump- then, it can be allowed to cool and it becomes a nice substitute for glycerin

I was making a gift for my sisters for christmas, and I decided to do snow golbes. These worked fantastic and I'm so happy with the finished product. But I would recomend the mason jar one, The figure I used sticked much better than the others.

you can usually get glycerin at a pharmacy--if they don't have it in stock, they can order it for you. It's also available on Amazon.
