If it's dirty either in the floor or in the laundry basket, depends on how tired/lazy I'm feeling. If I'm going to wear it again before washing I usually put it on a chair.

At the end of the day I have 2 hooks on my closet. On one side I hang up the clothes I wore that day if they don't need to go into the hamper. This way I can air them out before I put them into the closet first thing in the morning. On the other side I have my outfit for the next day fully assembled and waiting to be worn first thing in the morning.

I have an evening routine. After dinner part of this routine includes turning down the bed, closing the window shades and fixing the bedclothes just the way the Mr likes them. I also hook up his CPAP machine and oxygen. While I'm at it I make sure there are no tissues stashed on the bedside tables, no dust gathered on the electric cords. I leave the bedside lamps on and make sure our jammies and slippers are easily accessible by putting the jammies by our pillows and our slippers on the floor nearby. I make sure the trash cans are empty and when we change into our jammies I take our cast off clothes to the laundry room. I know. I'm kind of a nerd but an evening routine makes a morning much less chaotic. I should say that I also hang out our clothes for the next day. This keeps our lives simple and tidy. I love your videos. I learned from you how important it is to clean from top to bottom. I really appreciate your wisdom. I'm living proof that an 80 year old can always learn new things from kids your age!

I only have 2 hampers in the house - 1 upstairs (in the bathroom) and the other (a sorter) in the laundry room (basement).
So everyones clothes generally end up on the bedroom floor at the end of the day (usually in a pile in a corner) and same thing with pjs when getting dresses in the morning.
Ive made it a habit to go around each room every morning to pick up the piles of clothes and put them in the upstairs hamper.
Once that hamper is full, i bring it downstairs to sort it for laundry!
So far thats been a good system for me.
What i struggle with is hanging up the CLEAN clothes after doing said laundry lol - that ends up on the bench at the foot of our bed to "eventually" hang up lol im working on getting better at that!

I used to put them in the laundry basket, but now that I'm single and travel a lot (not to mention have an apartment which is very private), I just toss them on the floor to wear tomorrow. If they're dirty, I'll take the extra step of tossing them into the basket.
Aside, my biggest problem cleaning is I just have too much stuff! I moved into a small apartment from a house and still don't know how to deal with the boxes of useless things here. I could throw it out, but what a waste. The things are only useless to me. Others may find them a treasure.
The other problem is that I'm only home some weekends, so I find it difficult to motivate to get rid of things. Of course, that's my problem to solve.
    Thanks for the awesome videos!

After I clean our clothes and if I don’t have time I leave it in the laundry on the table . Or usually I like to sort it right from the dryer to the baskets for each family member and put to their bedroom.

A common theatre costuming trick is to take clothing that's been worn but isn't ready to be (or can't be) laundered, flip it inside out, hang it up, and spritz vodka on it. (Get the cheap stuff, don't waste your Belvedere.) Airs it out, and the vodka kills odor-causing bacteria. If you get the big bottles from the bottom shelf at the liquor store, it's actually very cost-effective. Good for mirrors, too.

I like how you slide the vaccum under the rug edges. I never thought to do that. The people complaining about a quick fold or placing of the sheets on the floor, their floors must be incredibly dirty. Clearly, if floors are filthy, you just don't do that.

Hi I was a professional house cleaner and looking at the video I would estimate that it probably took Melissa about an hour or even less. The sheets would have been still drying with the clean room done, she would have to wait for the sheets to put on later. If that was the case I would have moved onto another room to clean: then go back and put the clean sheets onto the bed. Only Melissa really knows but I hope I was helpful. ?

Thanks for the video! As always, super useful! I personally put my dirty clothes in a laundry bin and just leave the clothes I can still wear directly on top of the same basket, the lid is sturdy enough so that they don't drop inside of it ^^ I'm thinking about buying a valet stand to tidy it all up, but this system is fine for the moment :D

Since your clothes end up in the corner by your nightstand, what if you found a cute basket to tuck into the corner to collect your clothes?
Our room is relatively small, so our hamper is easy to access at all times. When it’s down in the laundry room then we pile clothes on the floor where it would be until we have an available hamper again. Some of my clothes will end up next to my side of my bed, but when I get up I just carry them to the hamper on my way out of the room (our hamper is by our door). Clothes that don’t need to be washed get draped on the hope chest.

I would consider this a light deep cleaning. You did more than a frequent (weekly) maintenance clean (you included cobweb removal, baseboards, wet dusting, doors and some trim - all deep cleaning tasks in my book) but less than a deep clean that's done on rotation or seasonally (window washing, thorough wet cleaning of all surfaces and trim, etc). How long did it take you and how often do you clean in this manner?

Hi Melissa I have OCD 😂so every night I will wash and clothing that is fine for tomorrow I Wil fold nearly and place ready to put on after I have trained and showered/bathed the next day. Dirty clothing I will usually take and place straight in the wash machine or hamper for when the next load goes on. My husband however throws everything and goodness it seems so much more than he had on and on top of that his huge gown on top during the night. Well ok but I need to navigate past his area many times during the night to use the bathroom and well let's say I have become excellent at shoving an item off my slipper and more or less...I think...in the general area of his pile 😂😂😂 I loved this video on cleaning the bedroom like a pro would you think if I scheduled a room in a day and took time to do a carpet powder which surs an hour ceiling lightfittings wash walls windows and clean inside closets this could work for spring cleaning. I just feel 3-4 weeks would I ever feel my home is completely nice and fresh at the same time.

Hello. I am a bit disciplined with my clothes and acessories when I come back from an outing/work/trip.
Everything gets put away immediately after I disrobe/unpack. Dirty laundry straight into the hampers (I hv 4; whites, coloured, towels & to send for dry clean). Fresh laundry are hung or folded from the basket the very day it is dry and put into the respective cupboards.
I have 2 grown up children staying with me and my hsbnd and all 4 of us hv different colour coded hangers in their wardrobe and I hang clothes according to their owners. I am a bit of an OCD like that and my fmly tolerates me 😊

Having a place for everything and making a rule to put things in their place if theyre not being used or worn makes all the difference in the world!! With a small amount of initial effort, you save yourself a lot of work later. Good habits!!
