Great video! Before the lockdown I was not able to make my bed everyday because when I left for work in the morning my husband was still in bed because he gets home late at night from work. By the time I got home in the evening it was almost time to go back to bed. Now, due to the stay-home stay-healthy order, I've been home and now I have the time to make my bed everyday. One of the best CMS videos I've seen. There is a lot of really good points made in this video. One may think "Well cleaning is common sense, how much can you say about it?" To this I would reply "A lot!" The beauty of these videos is that they crystallise what we know and bring it to the forefront of our intention so we can realise that these are the tiny habits we need to form if we want that clean, fresh peaceful space most of the time. Well done Michelle. I'm watching you from Australia and I think you do a great job always. You are so down to earth. I watch a lot of CMS. Stay healthy!
your babygirl is a doll. im moving and you have helped me so much and i play your videos as i clean, keep me motivated, educated, entertained and productive all at once.
Paused the video part way through and finally finished tidying away clothes in my recently renovated bedroom. And did some dishes. Feels good. I'm immersed in redecorating and tackling projects, so the house has gotten a bit messy. Two things I've learned: don't start too many projects at once and let the house get too messy, it gets you down; and you'd be amazed at what you can achieve with stuff you already have. For example, I'd bought paint, voiles and lampshades for my two bedrooms a few weeks before the lockdown, in a cream/gold theme. Planned to buy new curtain poles, but found gold Hammerite paint in my shed (result!) so the existing ones have been upcycled. Dug out old cream-coloured curtains with a gold fleck in them. Fiancé had a bedspread with gold fabric. It all looks great and has saved me a small fortune.
I looked at Jordan Page’s Fun Cheap Or Free on TH-cam and she said suggested everyone keep a routine schedule. So that is what we are doing. Morning block, afternoon block, evening block and night block schedules all contain the same routine just swapping out specific tasks/goals. One of my blocks contain rest/recoup/relaxing and that is the time that I have allowed myself to binge watch your channel. I cannot say thank you enough for making my life better, just because you are you. You inspire me to live a better life. I appreciate you and Chad so much. Thank you for all you do.
2 more weeks to go- my kids are loving it! I actually love having the kids at home with me, and putting things in perspective, you know what I mean? Everyone be safe and healthy and look out for one another my fellow Canadians : )
I am practicing my cooking at home while my wife works from home. Pizza is so easy with premade crust. Chicken parmesan is a easy 20 minute dish. We are eating more vegetables and practicing intermittent fasting. My diabetes is doing great. We miss sports as we have season soccer and hockey tickets. A major cleanout is underway. Stay tuned.
We're at 3 weeks of quarantine I found it so magical in the bonding we have a bouncy house to set up in the garage to help my son is a very very hyper child so I have lots of stuff on hand before this all you are keeping me sane was getting my house cleaned we only moved a month ago but I was really sick so nothing got on packed Really I've been watching you while I declutter and put away things thank you for the motivation it's been a year and a little bit I'm trying to get declared and you downsize I suffer from chronic pain but I find your videos doable and I'm seeing results
Dear Melissa everytime when you post a video i sit down, stop what i am doing and just listen to you and learn,no joke. Because of you i want my house to be clean and organize. My big problem in the home is clutter, i get rid of lots, but still. Specially my masterbedroom became in a way storage room and i hate that. My daughter room looks good when i clean & tidy ,but when she start to do art&crafts is looking like a messy shop and she is still learning to put them back. You always give me the motivation i need for the day, even if you didn't post anything i go to any of your videos and take my motivations from there. Staying at home now for me it's a blessing, first we have family time more and stay safe and then i try new cooking recipes ( it's funny because now we have more dishes to wash ( hand wash 😁 ) . So we've got few board games we play, home school ( my daughter is 12 years old ) and i decide to do half an hour everyday and during the day we read a a bit and learn something new everyday. I wish you all the best to you and your family 🤗😘🤗😘
I started a puzzle today. I had decluttered my puzzles about 2 years ago, but (fortunately) the bin I put them in only made it to the garage. I guess they were never really decluttered since they never left the property, but I'm glad to have them now!🤗
Thanks for the tips. I started the habit of making my bed over ten years ago. I've been reaching out to more friends during this time. Doing zoom calls for work and church. Cleaned my underwear drawer yesterday. The only thing I disagree with is that I keep a couple tools in the kitchen. Especially the screwdriver 🤗
Vacuumed the tops of my kitchen cabinets and laundry room cabinets. Talk about dust! Washed out my kitchen cabinets as well. Today I'm tackling my window blinds. Enjoyed this vlog!
I am thinking to paint and organize my garage and work on my garden and landscaping while we r stuck at home ! Since i created already a very good cleaning system at home " because of u ❤ "
I used the baskets with housemates - now living solo and use baskets for things that belong in other rooms so I don't get distracted running around the house putting things away one at a time.
We always make our beds! I’ve even tried to get my kids and grandkids to do this one thing! It gives you peace even if you’re not in that room till the end of the day!
I typically don't cook and am used to going out to dinner so my time has been spent cooking. I have actually really enjoyed what I have been making. I'm also getting some cleaning done and really enjoying the fruits of my labor :)
Omg Im working from home, marking everything off my honey-do list, teaching fourth and kinder, cooking and cleaning and caring for two dogs. Finally got a nanny starting tomorrow!
I’ve been cleaning, doing laundry, doing some painting (acrylic and watercolors), knitting, catching up on my shows, blogging, baking, surfing Amazon and adding things to my wishlists day catching up on sleep 😴.
Your daughter is the cutest 😍 As of now the job I do requires me to work, however...I have and always will demand to have a fresh clean house 😉 Tip: start at the beginning of the week and tidy up each day, it will help you at the end of the week. The more you do that the easier it will be to clean without being tired and or in your feelings ☺️ my Mom made us make our beds after getting up as kids and now me and my sisters still do. Some things take time, relax, and enjoy life 💚 many blessings to all of you 🙏🏼
I love your videos thank again. I declutter. Each area(basket) one by one. Also I think is a good oportunity to take time with God. Sing and praise. Talk to Him. And I feel how He helps me to get rid of my bad habits. GOD blesse you my dear❤🙏
Finishing up projects around the house, weeding the flower beds, mowing, and walking the dogs on our 3 acres. Because we are asked not to go to the hardware store, we have had to re-arranging plans for our future mediation garden which we started but had to stop. Read books, cooked new recipes, and do exercises at home. Actually, after reading all that we do, we have been pretty busy. LOL
I have 1 junk cookie jar on the counter, for takeout condiments, misc, when it's full, I go through the jar and dump what I haven't used. Which is usually once a month!
Have to make my bed every day! The room looks so much better if that is at least done. And I can’t get into a messy bed at night. Thank you for your videos! ❤️ from Buffalo, NY
Calling friends and family for chats. Doing the annual/bi annual House cleaning and organizing. Reviewed what I need more of and what I have to use for cleaning, etc. So saved some unneeded shopping 😊
My favourite tip was "clean for 10 minutes a day". That's me ... well, I do a bit more than 10 minutes. I used to be able to do the whole house in a day, but since I've retired, I've gotten slower so, I set myself goals for what I want to get done every day. It keeps my house in reasonable good shape.
I have the same problem. My almost 2 year old is always with me during the quarantine so it's hard to do stuff. But I'm working on making it fun for both of us even if we are cleaning.
I like that you talk about doing a little at a time. My mom has OCD and hoarder issues, so I always got "if it can't be done completely perfect, it shouldn't be done." I never learned to "keep clean", only how to "clean up" - in other words, never taught to be neat/clean in little chunks, only how to do a massive emergency cleaning. A few years after marriage, I became partially disabled and became severely depressed. The hardest lesson I had to learn was "do what you can, some is better than none, and do it when you can." I have a cleaner come once a week to do the heavy/hard stuff (vacuum, mop, anything on a ladder, etc.), and have learned to spend a few minutes each day "straightening up" (putting things back where they belong, cleaning messes cats/husband makes). My big breakthrough was in laundry: instead of doing 3 loads in one day once a week, I do a load whenever I can, but don't start another until it is completely dealt with - I fold/hang/sort as it comes out of dryer. If I don't, laundry quickly becomes an overwhelming task, with clothes getting too wrinkled or dirty (cats climbing in basket) and I have to start over. Any time I empty sink, I spray it down with cleaner, even if I'm unable to give it a scrub - the scent and empty sink helps send the signal to others to not mess it up lol
PS on Bed making: while making your bed is great, it's a good idea not to do it immediately after you get up. Wake up, pull the covers down to expose as much mattress as possible and fluff the pillows, then go eat breakfast/ get ready or something for several minutes to allow the humidity to evaporate. Bonus if you can get sunlight in room as the UV rays help kill germs.
Cleaning and organizing also getting rid of things that I don't need so far. Im a stay at home mom, so I am used to staying home and doing these things but now it just feels "weird" that I HAVE to stay home. Thank you for all these cleaning habits, they will definitely help the time go by a little quicker.
My family 'think' I have OCD because I like to keep my house clean on the go. I personally love it as I have a clean house, thanks to you. 💚 In our religion we are taught 'cleanliness is half of faith' so this is something I practice most of the time and hope to continue inshaa'Allaah
Love your cleaning tips my living space is much smaller but I think the tips can apply. I don’t need a junk drawer so it’s time to redo then I’ll take a picture my cool looking space. thanks for the video.

Just seeing this video today (7/18/2020). I know a lot of us are still at home, but it's not as bad as it was. Being home should motivate me to clean, but it hasn't! I figure no one can come over so why clean! lol I do really enjoy your videos. Thanks for posting them.
Melissa your cleaning tips are awesome but as a Mom what I'll remember is how you set the example with your daughter. When she came by to tell you she was pushing her baby you didn't complain you gave her your attention, heard what she had to say and resumed. This is how we teach our kids to respect themselves and have self-confidence way to go!
i so love your videos. I havent been able to watch you in along time due to 2 jobs. I was laid off my parttime job due to covid. now being under quarantine 2 wks and then out of work the duration of covid due to cancer etc. I so love and appreciate your videos. one of my needs are ideas for cleaning ceiling fans with high ceilings and i desperately need new mop system. i really like the spinning mop idea. i like the stainless steel component and not sure which one to buy. I want a higher end system. any suggestions? anything better. i have horrible linolium floors.
Hi Chad & Melissa! Thanks for this great recap! Since you will filming more in those quarantines days, more cleaning inspiration videos would be nice. I do not know how much time it take when you do them, but I can promise that I will listen them more than once! I do not count how often I saw your last one of 2019 that you suggested at the end of this one. I looked the one that Chad made couple times too, but I prefer with the voice over explaining what you do with your great tips. It really help to get in the mood of cleaning! Even if you think that you repeat and repeat the same things, the more we watch, the more we understand your method and put your tips in our cleaning routine. Maybe something like a video per room of your cleaning routine with more tips on what you change especially for the quarantines days, how you plan your tools and products to use... ultimately something that people can do while children’s watch their “one film” per days under the supervision of the oldest one or an adult. And you definitely can do some of them Chad! I am sure that you know all Melissa tips... even if you may not applied them all! Thanks for your great work! Love your microfibres clothes too!
Love the personal basket idea. Going to have to implement that one. I really enjoy your videos and have implemented quiet of your ideas and tips into my weekly routines. Thank you.

2 more weeks. Ok....
I think that maybe optimism speaking. It's going to be a while.
I actually enjoy having my mom on the phone and cleaning I end up doing way more than I thought I would.
I painted a hallway, organized fridge and freezer...lets keep going!!
This channel has helped me so much. Yes it is easier to clean as you go.
It was nice to see your old house again. Loved that kitchen.
Vacuumed the tops of my kitchen cabinets and laundry room cabinets. Talk about dust! Washed out my kitchen cabinets as well. Today I'm tackling my window blinds. Enjoyed this vlog!
Hello CMS Nation!
👋👋
can you do a video on how you organize your kitchen and bathroom
Hello Melissa! Keep these videos coming, you are so inspiring.
Hii Melissa mam videos r super
I am thinking to paint and organize my garage and work on my garden and landscaping while we r stuck at home ! Since i created already a very good cleaning system at home " because of u ❤ "
I used the baskets with housemates - now living solo and use baskets for things that belong in other rooms so I don't get distracted running around the house putting things away one at a time.
We always make our beds! I’ve even tried to get my kids and grandkids to do this one thing! It gives you peace even if you’re not in that room till the end of the day!
Thanks so much for the tips. They motivated me to start cleaning!
I would love to see a video on renegotiating cleaning and household responsibilities with your partner now that both people are working from home.
You videos always are inspiring me to keep my house clean. You always have fresh new ideas
Hey, I found your headphones 5:41 LOL. Thank you for continuing to upload and stay well!
Floordrobe! Love it!
This was so wonderful 🥰 Loved seeing your little one and a video with a more natural flair to it. Excited to see what’s upcoming!
LOL
Amen on "no junk drawers"!!!!!! Make a place where stuff belongs and just put it there when you are done using it!
I have 1 junk cookie jar on the counter, for takeout condiments, misc, when it's full, I go through the jar and dump what I haven't used. Which is usually once a month!
just for tris my mum had a drawer you could find absolutely anything in apart from the kitchen sink.!!
Have to make my bed every day! The room looks so much better if that is at least done. And I can’t get into a messy bed at night. Thank you for your videos! ❤️ from Buffalo, NY
Riley!! She's so adorable and getting so big! Love that photobomb!
I do a few of the things Melissa suggests and it really makes a difference. I’m hoping to incorporate more of her tips into my routine. Thanks MM!
Love the tap in your kitchen..so handy to pick up and spray around the sink
I do my best to live by all these rules,, I love making my bed everyday it really just starts my day !! Thanks Melissa
oh and I shine my kitchen sink daily when I am done in the kitchen .
Little projects around the house and Spring cleaning. Melissa we hope your whole family stay safe.
We are spring cleaning one room per day. I am also spending some extra time reading! It hasn’t been too bad!
In our religion we are taught 'cleanliness is half of faith' so this is something I practice most of the time and hope to continue inshaa'Allaah
dust of Madinah 💚 me too❤️
New subscriber here 🙋🏻♀️ Love your channel!! I’ve learned so much. Thank you!! Love your positivity and practicality.
I make my bed. Mostly because I don't want my dog under the sheets all day while I'm gone.
Here it’s my cat that gets under the sheets but it doesn’t matter if I make the bed or not, he will get there and he will mess it up 😬
I'm spring cleaning and finally got sunshine today so I pulled weeds out of my raised bed!! Getting ready plant something.
I clean for a living and ALL your suggestions are on point!❤️
Love your cleaning tips my living space is much smaller but I think the tips can apply. I don’t need a junk drawer so it’s time to redo then I’ll take a picture my cool looking space. thanks for the video.
My first time watching you and you inspired me!! I am almost done totally redoing my bedroom!! Took old furniture out and new furniture in and it looks fabulous ❤❤👍👍
This channel is gonna be POPULAR indeed ❤️heck I already love it. Teach me those cleaning ways 🧼
Thanks for watching Tobie!
Thank you your apsolutly great and you’ve helped me so much. God bless you and your family stay well🙋🏾♀️
Great video, well done
Another awesome video. Thanks for sharing.
i so love your videos.
Glad you're making videos during this time. It's good motivation to clean and it's also a helpful distraction. 😉 👍
Love the personal basket idea. Going to have to implement that one. I really enjoy your videos and have implemented quiet of your ideas and tips into my weekly routines. Thank you.
Thank you! What a nice distraction!! More, More, More
I recently found your channel and I love your ideas, tips and tricks! thanks for sharing them! :D
If I dont make my bed every day I cant get back any of the covers my husband hogged at night 🤣
Remodeling in our empty church buildings right now. Painting and redoing some lighting - watching the toddler grandchildren and finger painting with them!
Unfortunately I work at an essential business so I am not at home staying safe like a lot of people. Glad you are all.
Thank you for what you do
Thank you. Be safe.
Be safe 🙏🏽
Thank you for being such an inspiration!!!
I make my bed everyday and yes it makes a world of a difference!
I make my bed everyday. I never did growing up, but my husband did and has helped me adjust to the habit :)
LOVE your art!! MM!!
