So get a deficient battery with a 20% loss, you’re screwed!
As a Tesla owner, yeah I can pay up to $18-20 to supercharge my tesla, but we get about half real-world range as a gas equivalent. But if cost is a big concern, a Prius is just as good. Of course it won’t be as fast, refined, or quiet as a Tesla, but if saving money on gas is a major concern, get a hybrid. My car insurance is $70 more a month than my ‘21 Prius. On road trips it’s very similar cost-per-mile in terms of “fueling”. Unless you’re strictly charging at home it’s worth it. If you’re an Uber or can only charge at superchargers, you’re not saving money. Don’t get me started on the depreciation 😝
We test drove a 3 when my kids were still babies. We ended up with a 2019 Chevy bolt because it had more cargo space than the 3.
