Deal with it all the time. Never used a concrete saw lol. Oil or propane is highly acidic. So that exhaust will spawl because of the acidity, moisture, heat. I hate running into the dump inside chimneys lol. Old houses up north SUCK for this.
Hey Love the video! New here but GRUBB MUDD sent me. I have done a little laboring for my best friend who is a mason down here by Joliet. Looks like I got some more videos to watch today!
Great job! I wish you would wear some sort of eye protection when doing the acid. An old co worker would do the same thing with a plastic DD cup. One day he dropped the cup with the acid in it while bringing it over to the brickwork and the cup shot the acid mix out like a trampoline with enough force to shot it back up into his face, eyes and hair. The acid kept dripping down his face from his hair into his eyes. He is partially blind in his left eye and has to wear glasses so he can see in his right eye. His left eyebrow and eyelashes are partially gone, won’t grow back, and parts of his lips are white. Don’t care about the hair and skin, but protect those eyes. Just be careful 👍🏻👍🏻
Question to cut and repoint a chimney that is going threw a ridge in the center of the roof on a 12-12 pitch, 4' high 4' wide. What would u charge???? Price goes way up do to the pitch, height and access points
@@midwestbrickdoctor6670 I did a crazy price of $15,000 do to the height, accessibility and access points involved even though it's only 4 to 5 feet high 31/2 wide 4 tops. Safety is key!!!!
Common, any real mason would never use brick that didnt match to the point of this repair. You shoulda laid them all backwards they would match better not to mention they are an inch smaller. Your perps are huge.. and seriously what mason uses acid to clean the brick work
Love to see young, hardworking, and motivated people.

What kind of acid do you recommend to clean off the outside of a chimney before spraying it with water repellant?
Question: Why didn't you or someone fix that flu while the chimney was partly open?
Great job kid, what did this go for?
1700 cash
@@midwestbrickdoctor6670 now ur pricing like a pro

Not sure I’d have to see a picture.

Do you use the same mortar mix on all your jobs? What is the sand to mortar ratio?
Yes I use a 3:1 ratio sand to cement. That’s every mix I make
