      I rock the Fat Shark HaychD3’s 😁
      So much better with aftermarket foams
      Would like to try the Aomway’s
      unless I start reviewing goggles, I probably won’t change after emptying my bank account for mine

      I have the Boscam GS922 and love them but I don't know how they compare to others. Have you tried them?

    • @anthonyortega3136
      @anthonyortega3136 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't tried the boscam goggles so I can't say, but I have the flysight falcon, dominator v3, aomway, and I had the "haytchD3's" before selling them. The dom v3's are cool but the aspect ratio doesn't switch & te screens suck compared to the others, aomway are disposable since receivers are built in, the hd3's are more suited for phantom type drones, the falcon FG01 have modular receivers, 33°fov(I feel like its the best size for fpv), the picture is by far the cleanest, they are identical to aomway but with modular receivers, screen upgrade, upgraded 2s-4s connectors, and upgraded DVR and cost $239. Stu needs to review these goggles everyone in the hobby would benefit from them, I'm even willing to buy a pair for Stu to review.

    I have the fatshark HD3’s and I love them. I got the new OLED receiver from fatshark and it works great even though it is not a diversity. I would say invest in a good set of goggles since it is like the most important thing. If you can’t see well you won’t fly well. Keep up the good work stew! You have a great channel!

      @anthonyortega3136 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rich Hole I completely agree, I've ditched the diversity for the fsv2446 the diversity is just hype you only need one good receiver, antenna, and awesome goggles.

Can you recommend what I should upgrade my aomway antennas to?

    Hey Stew! Love the channel...I was just wondering, could you cut some of the other foams so that the edges would seal properly? I know it makes it a little awkward...but, I think it might resolve some of the issues. I haven't made the plunge yet...but, I'm looking at getting the commanders so far myself. Although, these do have a lot of features that I think I like in a goggle.

    I actually like the "hold to power" feature as it could prevent them from accidentally being powered on in my bag. I'd just 3D print a case for 2 18650 batteries, so the batteries would already be there and ready to go.
    My biggest concern is the focus as I also now need reading glasses and am having a hard time finding goggles. That's why I still use the Fatshark Transformer with the binocular box.

    Became an owner of Aomway Commander's at today. To be correct, purchased from coworker from who I borrowed them 2 weeks ago. Coming from EV800/EV800D box googles didn't seen a big difference in "screen size" - in commanders screen feel approximately in the same size, maybe a tiny bit smaller. All other things (size, weight, receiving, RF noise processing, picture color, DVR playback control, possible battery type support and empty battery warning) is a way better than in EV-s. I miss only two things - VTX RSSI icon (partially covered by diversity switching icons) and easier begin of DVR recording. Which begins by pushing camera button one time in EV's, where in Commander's you must press and hold DVR button to enable it and press again to start recording. Although recorded video playback in Commander's is a way easier plus DVR menu is instantly in English and not in Chinese only. Stock cloverleaf antenna is good, patch antenna is a crap, but I already have a tripple patch and pagoda omnidirectional antennas exactly for these googles so no problems with them. About these Skyzone's I have a feeling that they have great screens, but they should do something to help people with sight deviations (changeable lens support etc.) and make several faceplates (or adjustable softer faceplate) for various face types. Then they will become on par with Fatshark HD3.
    Stu, which camera types you prefer? 16:9 or 4:3?

    Possibly skyzone filling the old HD2 market. Fatshark stopped making them but people still want them. I would have bought HD2s if I could have found any for sale but couldn't and settled on DomV3s. Wouldn't change from 16:9 now, I'm way to used to it.

    I found with the skyzone 01's the same. Beautiful picture but with my European nose they were uncomfortable. It is not the face plate as the further back you put the your eyes away from the image you will lose image quality. It's the bridge of the goggles being shallow. Such a shame as I am really looking to upgrade from my hd2s 😟

  • @larrynygaard9846
    @larrynygaard9846 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I jumped on purchasing them before I could get your review and had to go with the thicker foam because there was too much light leakage on the sides. The faceplate sucks and needs to be redesigned like the FatShark faceplate (more curve). I also have an issue with the screen being blurry in the center. Everything is clean on all sides and blurs toward the center, not sure why?!? I have owned the SkyZone Sky01 and the Sky V+ and both were great and didn't have that issue. I haven't been able to mess around with my Sky03 too much yet and am waiting for a set of diopters that hopefully will fix the problem. I might have to go back to my modded Sky v+ with the fan... not happy :'( BTW they were $459 @ fpvmodel where the FatShark HD3's are around $449 - $499 without diversity and $399 core without a RX module which is around $79 extra. SkyZone SKY03's are definitely targeting the HD3's in the market but I think they missed the mark as theses issues NEED to be fixed :(

      Definitely not what I am implying, I was just clarifying. I'm more interested in Trev's specific reason for switching. I know he was in the SEs for quite a while and seeing as they're the google I currently use it may be a reason for me to try something else :)

    I was hoping for a different outcome..I held off buying a new set until these came out,but seeing how no one said they were comfy and had light leakage from three different people. I'll have to pass :(
    Thanks for the review!

    Really hoping the DJI Digital system brings the price down on analog gear, so far no such luck, good goggles are still upwards of $400 or more

    Am I the only one who's still really happy with getting the EV100s at $89? I actually really enjoy them, and for the price is a great upgrade from my old box goggles.

    I am now using a box google. I am waiting for the review and the comparison to "Eachine EV200D" than buy a good under 300 USD Google or the "Fat Shark Recon FPV goggles". Is this hobby expensive????

      Exex Gr
      It doesn’t have to be.
      depends on what you think is expensive.
      If you want a wall full of quads and looking to have the latest and greatest then probably.
      Not hard to spend $1000 though

    Personally, I use my fatshark focal dvr. I feel that the “overpriced” aspect of the fatshark is alright for these reasons: 1 easy to reach customer support, and repairs. 2 information is commonly found on forums because 90% of people in the hobby have fatshark goggles 3 the ability for modular recivers is a live saver, especially because the hobby is growing so fricking fast. That’s just my .02, sorry for being a fatshark fanboy!

    Feel like there was a bias because people didn’t like faceplate that you changed - that thicker faceplate would’ve meant less light leakage, a more comfortable fit and a better focus for their eyes. Would be interesting to hear their review with a different faceplate foam

      Connor Mullan - In stew’s defence, if Skyzone didn’t make the asinine decision to not use Velcro to attach the foam he could have let other people try the different foam pieces. However, they did and he had to work with what he got.

    • @connormullan
      @connormullan 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rick Tucker feel like although it is a problem it’s relatively minor, it would’ve still retained some stickiness that would’ve held another piece of foam, if not some double sided sticky tape etc - albeit the price point of the goggle you shouldn’t have to do something like that but hey ho, seem like a really nice pair of goggles though

    I only like the fatshark because they supposed to be coming out it a module as good as it's big brother. Sky zone and aomway don't have bays... There's a video put there on how to attach a module, I'm sticking with fatshark and hope they come out with a flagship Google that actually works as a flagship...

      Ben Jones you should look into the flysight falcon fg01 they have a large receiver bay and a 33° fov for only $239 I got then 2 weeks ago and haven't touched my aomway or Dom v3's since. Built in receiver goggles are just disposable throw aways.

      UAVfutures it's kinda unfair to post a review saying they are uncomfortable, don't fit, and have light leakage, when they aren't using the proper foam piece, but they should of included Velcro for such an expensive piece of kit.
