I was out walking when yhis hit. It was like a train. Temp dropped bigtime, super loud and you had to lean into it to not get knocked over. And we actually got a little rain out of it.
@@lorid6544 phoenix metro is HUGE! Avondale (south) and surprise (north) are both very west. Takes over 1.5 hours to drive from north west valley to south east. Very likely they missed the brunt of it, but they should have some wind and sprinkles!
I was on break at the North Scottsdale Walmart and it acted like a microburst. I had experienced a microburst once before while in Idaho. It was kind of similar.
Back in the 90's, I think, two storm fronts collided over the Phoenix area. If I remember right, it actually caused a small tornado. I still miss Arizona.
There was a tornado last year up near Coolidge but it was only on the ground for a bit. I was up there for business and left right before it hit, and heard about it on the drive back into Tempe!
Drove through this last night on our way back from San Diego. Zero visibility for a few seconds there. It was wild. Made it home and the electricity was out.
Was visiting Chandler a few years ago when a haboob decided to put on a show. Quite impressive (cough, wheeze). I did a microburst in Las Vegas the next year!
These are ,no joke, I went through one in 1996 crazy storm. Been through a CAT 5 hurricane, a tornado and one of these…not a fun time minus the lightening show we had for over three hours.
I'm starting to sneeze just sitting here watching this vid! There's no way I could live there; maybe if I wore a gas mask during these storms! lol. Excellent video. Stay safe!
FYI us Arizona natives speak English and not Arabic. We use the correct term "Dust Storm" to describe this type of weather. Not only is "Dust Storm" correct it is also perfectly descriptive. Haboob is not, unless you happen to speak Arabic. I am a native since 1958 and my wife since 1956.
The proper name now is haboob according to the U.S. National Weather Service. And for your information if you knew how many words the English language has adopted from the Arabic language you would be truly amazed. 😅
Matt. 24. 20. For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the begining of the world to this time, no nor ever shall be. Rom. Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved, Jesus is Lord, time is short, call on him now.

I can feel my teeth crunching sand watching this
i saw so many fallen trees everywhere, one even hit the powerline. I have never seen a storm this bad ever here. its crazy
This was the craziest storm I've experienced since moving here (ten years ago). I live in Casa Grande.
I used to skydive in Eloy. Lived in a van from Dec to May- we would go to China Buffet and Big Lots all the time in Casa Grande- 💜 Love from CT
Welcome! I've been here 34 years and this has been the driest monsoon I can remember so this storm was great!
The wind clocked 73 mph in that dust storm. Worst storm I've experienced in the West Valley
When I was a kid, my brothers and I would climb as high as we could in the trees, and just hang on...heck of a ride!

Still raining in south mountain !😊
It's 11.40p and still raining! It was crazy wind! Finally the thirsty desert gets a drink.
Edit: us Phoenicians live for this.
Peace all.✌️
happy to see the rain for AZ!
My relatives all live on the west side (Surprise & Avondale.) Was this mostly a southeast PHX event?
@@sgrvtl7183 we need it desperately!

Though the 🌩 after was awesome.
I accept all blame, as I just washed/detailed my truck here in Phoenix.
🤭🤭🤭🤭
Underrated comment.
I remember your statement from all the way back in the ‘50’s. If you want it to rain - “Wash your car.” Classic !!!
Phoenix under flood watch. Crazy storm!

It's amazing how it forms a 'wall'!
Amazing it's coming in that late. I lived in Scottsdale for a while like 1999-2001 and a daily haboob is a thing there. You get used to it.
Yeah, we don't gwt them as frequently anymore.
WOW, great video guy's 😊
AWESOME!
I would trust a parking garage over a wooden home.
Literally was sent into the stone ages with this one
Why people always want to live on top of each other amazes me. Guess they're afraid of being alone in the dark
So crazy!😮 what a sight

In laveen we had some down pours and lots of wind we had trees and power lines down it said it reached 73mph winds
Incredible 😎😎😎👍👍👍
Explains all the dust in the morning born here from here only local only !
Wow
Wooooow
This was crazy my whole house was shaking last night.
Is that the beginning or the end of the storm
dang
Any pile ups on the I-10?
It looks like wildfire
I’m going to be struggling to breath! Yuk!
So a haboob is a sand storm?
So a dust storm with rain?
👏Mike✌
How bad is the storm going to be?
Two tornadoes?

Why call it a haboob, when it's just a dust storm?
Haboob aka Hatit

You got his number ?
thank the government, they have been seeding the weather to the west
Say something smart this time
Yeah, seeding it with your sandbox.
What's a haboob, I would call it bigboob😅
wtf is a haboob?
it is the name of a dust storm. Just like Derecho is the name of a big wind event.
@@StormChasingVideo so it's a dust storm and someone decided to virtue signal by using some term for it that was used by People they feel bad for
