Wow! Seeing this again makes my heart skip a beat. I was in a small bathroom with my children as this storm DEMOLISHED my home & hometown of 46 years. There are no words to describe THIS experience! We are all living miracles… we weathered the beast… Hurricane Michael! 🥺
Omg! So happy you and your children made it out safe 💞!
I’m so glad you are ok!, much of my family was displaced but kept on working. My son also works for BCSO. I watched the struggle. Some of my friends are still trying to get things worked out. 2 of my kids and much and a brother are there the rest of my family is close by. I visit a lot. My daughter just moved from the beach to Lynn Haven, my brother is there too. Every time I go down 390 I can’t even orient things look so different. Glad you and your babies are ok. My brother stayed I. His home in North Shore and they really thought they were going to lose their lives. It blew the bricks off their house. I can’t imagine what you all went through.
@@mariawallace1381 thank you for those kind words. Yes, many people are still struggling there. I pray that those who still need help can get it to rebuild.

I love how peaceful and clear the sky is after something so devastating.
Nah, I love the storm.
Ya, how peaceful it feels after hundreds of people dying and roofs of buildings flying away in storm
It actually sucks, the day after a hurricane passes is like the most hot humid day you ever felt in your life and you have no power for ac.
Or before something devastating. In the Midwest where I grew up, it always got like that before tornadoes hit.. calm and silent.

Great footage...surviving a direct hit from Hurricane Charley's eye still haunts me to this day....I remember trying to ride it out on a front screened porch but once the tarps blew away & all the massive oak trees starting uprooting I knew it was time to take shelter inside. It went from a sunny afternoon to apocalypse in 1 hr
Yep it sure did. I went thru Charley too direct hit
Glad you and all who experienced such horror is ok. Idk much about it, im in the us in a lil tucked away part of ohio where we have had maybe 2 tornados near here, that we got hit from.

If you say port charlotte or punta gorda or somewhere on the barrier islands near there i feel for you.
I survived this hurricane in Savannah, Georgia. One of the longest nights of my life. If they tell you leave, LEAVE.
Were you on a palm tree
@@fj1914 Haha! I was in a house and first the siding on the garage and my whole storage shed flew away . Then a part of the roof, three windows and 5 very large pecan trees went all at once. I just went very calm because I felt like it was time to die and nothing could be done about it.
If they tell you it's the end of the world, they're selling cereal. If they tell you not to panic, get the fuck out.
We had a condo in Panama City Beach, I remember when I was little back in 2004, Ivan came through. We decided not to leave and stay in the condo since it was hurricane proof instead of getting stuck in evacuation traffic during a Cat 5. The most eerie thing about being stuck in that was that the wind was so strong. It forced its way inside of the building and you could hear it in the hallways, the most eerie sound to this day.
Ay, fellow/former resident of the shithole, if your not there anymore, that's good, hurricane Michael tore the city up and it went down hill real quick, trying to find a affordable place didn't exist, almost every insurance company left and ran with the money or just went bank rupt, thousands got scammed out of their money (my family was apart of the scammed) and quite a bit of the money meant to fix our city was embezzled away.

Videos of the worst damaged area months after Hurricane Michael show that the majority of the palm trees underwent tremendous stress from both the wind and the storm surge, but remained standing and alive even when every structure around them was wiped out. That really impressed me.
That’s why they grow along the coast I guess
These palms are native to this area and have evolved to be able to withstand hurricanes.
That means if you're ever outside during a hurricane just hold on tight to a palm tree! Right guys? 😂
@@DarkArcticTV People caught in storm surges have done it, but unfortunately you probably will be battered to death, or will drown because you eventually can no longer hold on.

Maybe not a hurricane but I was outdoors in the middle of the forest and away from shelter and pretty sunny for hours when somehow a severe hail storm just came suddenly out of nowhere. I had to run half a hour back to my house. I got hit by large rocks of ice constantly and on the head alot.

Nearly every hurricane spawns tornados, yet we never think of them together. We think of them as always being separate things. Why is that? Sure Tornados don't need a hurricane to form, but on top of hurricane force winds, you also throw in tornadic winds?! That's nuts.

At least during the day you can see what's going on during a hurricane. But at night--especially when the power's out--you can only hear the roar.
I see trailer parks here in Florida & think "Who would ever want to live in one of those in a hurricane state?"
Bill Graper I’m from Florida and I don’t know 🤷♀️
I’m a routine summertime visitor of the Orlando area, grandparents, sister, and aunt, uncle, and cousin lived there, and I have seen some pretty well kept mobile homes in and around that area, compared to the tweaker encampments that are most trailer parks here in Texas, makes me think it’s more about the lifestyle and climate and finding a way to be near the beaches in a state that’s a major tourist destination even if there are a few risks. Obviously in CA, we know a lot of people beach-bum and sleep out on the beach at night, and with the seismic activity there, there has to be a risk of Tsunamis and rarely, typhoons, but at least with hurricanes, you have weeks in advance to prepare/evacuate if you live in the effected area.
I like Hurricanes.
I hate when loss of life happens though
My dad lmao
Yeah but I see a lot of mobile homes that are 30 40 50 years old that are still here so you got to think they've been through a couple of Category 3 5 hurricanes and still standing
