RIP to the legends, and RIP especially to Jason. He was a wonderful soul from what we got to see in your videos Benny. He will be missed. I pray you have peace.
RIP to Jason, I only met him a few times after a friend recommended his store. He was super nice and helped me with one of my magic decks. I was gonna go in the store last year but it was closed so I just said I’ll come back later and that never happened. Now assuming this is the same Jason you were talking about.
I got the chance to meet Neil Adams by accident at Graham cracker comics in Chicago. Just a wonderful soul Great to talk to you and super knowledgeable about the industry I was in there for about an hour and 30 minutes while he was signing stuff just shooting the sh**. Great man sorely missed. George Perez is a legend and I'm so happy he got his flowers towards the end
Trial of the Amazons was great imo. Nubia is selling well enough to keep getting new titles, and Artemis is spinning out of the event. It didn't get huge sales numbers but it would be a shame to forget it in the crowd. There was a 6 page preview of the event in the back of all issues a month before it started. Jace Fox is now showing his face to represent after his father identifies him in issue #5
The best thing about artists, is that they’re never really gone; they leave us a piece of themselves in their art. We as a society can learn to better appreciate artists of all kinds, visual, oral, aural, interpretive, etc, while they are alive. Sal said it best…. “Meet your heroes.”
My comic book store owner also passed away. I stopped reading comics because of that. These people are way more important in your life, more than you realise. Hope their loved ones and you Benny have a healthy grieving period. May he rest in peace.
27:30 very honest Sal, I know your big on Strange, and I like him now since Dr Strange 1 but you're he never had a large movie level fan basis. cameos were needed
The show "Ultimate Spider-Man" was excellent BECAUSE it was allowed to be its own thing. It drew inspiration from the comics of the same name and then jumped off that to be its own story. It did more creative things than Spider-Man comics even do. (Coming as a Spider-Man fan.)
Benny I wanna let you know. The reason most didn't watch your Dr strange video was because rob did the intire comic in one go. So why wait for parts when rob has it all out now y'know?
Just wanted to throw my piece there about the fox family. I am Batman (jace fox run) has had the family move over to New York, where jace is currently operating as Batman. Also Jace's suit didnt really change, he just took off the mouth piece. I think Jace's book is really picking up after the New York move and its interesting to see how he tries to differentiate from Bruce's batman.
Well guys the sonic fluctuating budget can make sense, depending on marketing costs and in some cases can cost almost as much as the actual movie especially when you’re Disney
So I started following your podcast on podbean when you started moving the videos over here 3 weeks back, I believe, but besides for one episode I haven't seen any updates. I would love to hear discussions like this in podcast form
I read somewhere, don’t know if it’s true but; they already offered Gunn that role and he turned it down. Then they asked him to do Superman, he said no. Then they asked him what he wanted to do and he said suicide squad
Noooooooooo! Not George Perez! And Neal Adams?! These guys were the foundation for many things you like in comics. Including _The first_ DC/Marvel superhero crossover, and one of the best (behind Batman VS Predator).
Trial of The Amazons was doomed from the start. It especially sucks knowing how many tie-ins got made just for the lead up to that event only for it to fizzle out completely. I'm also really sorry to hear about Jason's death along with George and Neal. I know I'm just a random commenter on here but Comicstorian was my entry point into the comic book side of TH-cam. I remember seeing those early videos that were shot at the comic book shop with Benny and Jason. It's the sole reason I got back into comics after my LCS closed around 2006.
You have a good point, it's understandable the feelings Dr Strange gave any of us wouldn't be as as high as Endgame or No Way Home. Endgame was a culmination of the first big story and No Way Home was just so special. Still a great movie but not on the same emotional level.
It was a pretty bad movie. Endgame is bad too, but people were tricked into cooming over Cap holding the hammer and completely neglecting the terrible time travel plot.
The hype is like where you instantly like say get over the girl or something like whatever super common thing. They didn’t get the fix for and was just kinda deal with it this whole thing goes with the escalate the fantasy sooooo effin much I only pay attention to that and I never neatly tuck away my emotional luggage. I’m kinda a psych nerd but yeah if it takes a long time at least it happens. I just didn’t like how some of the reactions were like ruining the air of the coolest thing still around.
We get it guys lol you didn't care for Dr. Strange. Other ppl enjoyed it. Hype is subjective & I think TH-camrs are ruining the excitement of film going. Just in my opinion & I'm not even a Marvel head. People have lives outside of content creation - and a lot of people don't let social media sway opinions of film entertainment. Do you guys have an Insider connection? I think establishing that will help. Love the content and the opinions!!
the Horror turned people off DR strange. there were several families that had to leave the theater cause it was terrfiying the kids. Marvel has built a brand on family friendly and they are trying to get gritty like DC. Hopefully it doesnt do the same for them
Nothing in that movie was really that dark or gritty. it just had a bit more fire than the usual marvel fair and had a zombie. I think your experience was an outlier
RIP George Perez & Neal Ads, 2 legends with such an impact that will be forever missed.
RIP to the legends, and RIP especially to Jason. He was a wonderful soul from what we got to see in your videos Benny. He will be missed. I pray you have peace.
Condolences for your friend Benny❤️ RIP to the legends as well🙏

Oh wow an actual up to date podcast
Trial of the Amazons was great imo. Nubia is selling well enough to keep getting new titles, and Artemis is spinning out of the event. The comment Meet your heros hits home since I've thankfully met Benny at Denver comic con
My comic book store owner also passed away. I stopped reading comics because of that. These people are way more important in your life, more than you realise. Hope their loved ones and you Benny have a healthy grieving period. May he rest in peace.
I’m so sorry for your loss Benny
27:30 very honest Sal, I know your big on Strange, and I like him now since Dr Strange 1 but you're he never had a large movie level fan basis. cameos were needed
Yall hired Hassan? Really great news, he's been fantastic on this show.
Loved the new intro!!
Woooo absolute comics. Stoked to listen. Thanks like always fellas!
I just read crisis on infinite earth's yesterday, rest in peace bro.
Benny I wanna let you know. The reason most didn't watch your Dr strange video was because rob did the intire comic in one go. So why wait for parts when rob has it all out now y'know?

New format is super cool
i went into Runaways with zero expectations and then binged all 3 seasons in like a week lmaoo. its surprisingly good for the most part
Well guys the sonic fluctuating budget can make sense, depending on marketing costs and in some cases can cost almost as much as the actual movie especially when you’re Disney

Um, I will look into that, it should be unrelated to the uploads over here... but obviously theres an issue
I will definitely be doing this with Simonson, Starlin, Marz, Lim and Ostrander. RIP George Perez and Neal Adams
I fucking love you guys! Hey Benny, any chance you’re doing a east coast meet up in Ny?
sal ur a man of culture im 20 and i remember wolverine and the x men vividly
Sorry about your loss Benny. Hold onto your other friends tighter, you can never know anymore at our ages.
Cloak and Dagger was FAR BETTER than runaways
I heard Dave Bautista had lost his fortune from wrestling before being cast in Guardians. Since then he's clearly doing much better for himself.
He use to be a bouncer
I read somewhere, don’t know if it’s true but; they already offered Gunn that role and he turned it down. Then they asked him to do Superman, he said no. Then they asked him what he wanted to do and he said suicide squad

I bought the books & am buying the Wonder Woman Omnibus by George Perez later in August.
When I heard about george perez I cried
A comedy at the X-Men school. Isn't that the run we're doing now?🤔💯
Rip George Perez and Neil adams we will all miss you so much 😢
I love I am Batman. It's weird that Jace isn't using the Batwing suit in his book.
Jace's suit change sucks because his suite with the mask looked so dope.
3 batmen vs the 3 jokers let’s do it !
Saved by the bell + X-Men= X-men Evolution
I didn’t realize not that many people didn’t read trial of amazons, I guess I’m one of the few odd people out
Trial of The Amazons was doomed from the start. It especially sucks knowing how many tie-ins got made just for the lead up to that event only for it to fizzle out completely.

At least Fantastic Four got the Moon Knight Production to help with their movie
Grandslam Comics is also my comic shop. Rip Jason thanks for selling me marvel legendary
Will you guys ever be putting your videos on streaming services. I would love to be able to listen to these while driving :)
Doctor Strange 2 was a very awesome movie
I was aware of trial of Amazon but I'm skipping all events cause don't want to track down all the different parts. skipping shadow wars too
You have a good point, it's understandable the feelings Dr Strange gave any of us wouldn't be as as high as Endgame or No Way Home. Endgame was a culmination of the first big story and No Way Home was just so special. Still a great movie but not on the same emotional level.

DC & Marvel crossover, guardians of the universe versus the guardians of the Galaxy
i really hate the fact that they chaged jaces costume from the future state design
Rip George Perez and Neal Adams
Does Sal have a green screen behind him or those arcade machines collectibles behind him really part of his room?
Those are real arcade cabinets lol
Eternals was a pandemic movie that came out on disney plus. So that coukd reduce box office. But again we will never know.
Iconic ≠ Sales.

Spectacular Spiderman is the only good modern cartoon for the webslinger
GP is dead?!?!?!?!?!?!
@Joseph Rockford no I had no idea 😢😭 thats sucks
I'm glad Doctor Strange focused on the story and Doctor Strange himself for the most part.
👍

@Joseph Rockford didn't say they couldn't or shouldn't.
Glad you get it! We're going to continue sharing our opinions on our opinion based pop culture podcast, so thanks for watching!
A lot of people liked The Last Jedi too at first, so most people are kinda dumb
Thank God no Dillon 😅
the Horror turned people off DR strange. there were several families that had to leave the theater cause it was terrfiying the kids. Marvel has built a brand on family friendly and they are trying to get gritty like DC. Hopefully it doesnt do the same for them
I'd rather a couple of kids get terrified than all the MCU projects be 100% family friendly.
Nothing in that movie was really that dark or gritty. it just had a bit more fire than the usual marvel fair and had a zombie. I think your experience was an outlier
It was also a terrible movie, so the kids got it easy
Worst intro ever
