Thank you. Similar problem for me. You saved me from taking apart the outer trim

TL;DR I banged the door and fixed it.
I have a similar unit. I don't know whether it's ODL or not. But it was stuck in the middle, such that if I forced it the magnets would disengage. So i re-engaged them. Tried slamming the door a number of times, no go. Then I moved the slider all the way to the top such that the blind should fall to the bottom if it loosened. I then proceeded to beat the glass across the entire width of the blind at its bottom where it was stuck. Several times back and forth, and it dropped. Not all the way, but significantly far. I repeated the exercise with no change. However, I then pulled the blind all the way to the top, and it went without sticking. When I lowered it, it went all the way down. I made sure to jiggle the slider up and down to try to ensure that it was as fully extended as it would get. Then I pulled the slider down and it went all the way to the top without sticking. I raised and lowered it a few times and it went the full length. Just wanted to share a story of hope. No doubt I will be faced with this problem again. Good luck out there.

Wait, so you just put the vertical slider at the top and beat on the glass on the bottom? That worked?

Here's a positive follow up - I slammed the door fairly hard (but not too hard) and the interior blind righted itself. I still can't raise the blind, but at least the slats now all face the same way.

Just unbelievable, I just fixed the thing by giving a hard slam, the stuck part was loosen and can be raised and lower again. Thanks for your sharing.

You still need to reset the side slider. They normally clip the the side and can be tilted and removed.(Test this) if you can Raise the blind to a certain point without it popping lose and falling, try disconnecting the Slide Magnet at that point and attach it at the top. Hopefully you will be above the second contact point. Slide down slowly and search for the engaging the cable. It normally takes 2 clicks to be in the correct position, but it sounds like your cable is rotated to far to one side.

I'm here today because yes, their website offered nothing. My door is doing the same thing, and another door has frosting glass. UGLY! We just bought this house (but know the original owners). I went to the website to see the warranty expired last year. I also discovered they PRORATE their glorious 20 year warranty so the purchaser is slapped with an increasing % of the repairs, so TRUTHFULLY it's not a TRUE 20 year warranty. The consumer (who paid a premium for the product) has to pay AGAIN for the defect issue. I'll be cracking the seal on these and fixing them MYSELF!! Signed, Ms MacGyver

On a positive note, the slats that would not close now work ok. How? I just banged on the glass (hard, but not hard enough to break it) and eventually they fell into place.

Same here, if they sold the replacement parts, then that would help also but checking out their web site I cant find anything. Its been over 7 years and I think its been stuck for the past 5 years. Caution with ODL

You didn't follow the instructions. You slide the handle to the TOP. When it stops, Push it up farther. You will hear a second click. This will re-align the internal magnets and they will raise and lower again correctly. This version is no longer made. They now come with only one mechanism that controls everything. The problem he has is with the glass. It is concaved in the middle, probably due to temperature.

We just replaced an exterior garage entry door with similar style as this. Was fine until last night when temps dipped down. Seemed pretty obvious to me that the glass concaved in the middle and is catching. Our problem is compounded by cooler temps inside the garage as well. We don't have this problem on doors where the interior is conditioned.

I have same problem. Not fixed by moving the slider to engage the magnets. Glass is indeed bowed but all the time, not at any particular temp. It's poor engineering. Should be more clearance for the blinds

Mine is toast. The magnet will no longer engage the “first click” no matter what. So SOL..and can’t DIY fix it. Engineers (not technician) forethought strikes again. Waste of money.
