Great video Bill. I need to do some more glassing soon, and I always watch your older ones to refresh my memory on the best way to do it. One thing I could never do was the consolidation roller, it would pick up the mat or the mat would slip and the roller would fill with resin and not turn. I used a cut down paint brush and would tamp it down that way.
Bill, I learned everything from your unbelievable tutorials. Mad skills man, the best. I imagined you were going to do a two piece on this one. I would definitely have. Would have been horrified that I wouldn't be able to get the plug out with so many flats and possible negative angles. You did it! I'm impressed.
I used to build fiberglass airplanes, when my parts used to stick like that, I'd used compressed air, from an air compressor and a long tube for blowing things off, worked quite well.
Great tutorial, as always! I'm looking forward to build a custom go-kart fairing, i've already finished the design on cad! I'm thinking about building firstly an MDF structure, than use expanding foam to build up volume, sculpture it and finish it with bondo; as a die. What do you think about this method? Any suggestions?
The first thing guys building race cars strip out are perfectly good interiors. A few sell them. Most just bin them. At least this one was sacrificed to a good cause and will live on in the many copies it will generate in life after death.
Your opinion totally contradicts everyone else's comments on this video. Oh - and have you found a better DIY video on how to copy a car dashboard? Nah.
Definitely would like to get into fiberglass molding/designing, especially for my dash and maybe some wider fenders. Thank you for the tutorial!
Thanks for that last bit of explanation. That will help me rebuilding parts of my busted dash👍

Bill, your videos are always fantastic!!! Thanks for sharing your amazing skill set with us buffoons. Also, I love the music selections in your video.
I really hope that a lesser quality condition dashboard was used as the mold than the one pictured at the beginning.
