    I looked at that pile of junk in your intro and saw.........a pile of junk. You looked at it and saw...mixer...coffeemaker...cups...scales...measuring spoons...........Makes me think of my mounds of scrap fabric that my husband sees as a pile of scraps, but I see as mug rugs, stuffed toys, pincushions, tote bags......... I love it!!!

      I’m 75 and about 5 years ago I fulfilled my ambition to make dolls houses and all the accessories. I started with using plywood to make an exact copy of my own house. Then I made other types, using various materials including foamboard. I even made a circular two story house using 3 vinyl albums with triangular rooms. Then I made little cardboard cases into rooms with furniture and tiny dolls. I so enjoyed it as I had been a fan of dolls houses since I was a child. I played with my house for hours and my siblings could never get a look in! I’ve given away most of my creations now to children I know, but have kept the model of my own house. Like your own mother I would always be on the lookout for little objects which could be transformed into furnishings etc and developed a lot of ingenuity doing so! Regards from Scotland

    My Grandfather made my Mother a dollhouse during WW2. He was a cabinet maker and Foreman of Carpentry at the GM North Plant in Oshawa, Ontario, where the Mosquito Bombers were built during the war. The Mosquito Bomber’s fuselage was made from beautiful blonde birch wood because of its flexibility, strength and light weight. He used to bring the scrap wood home. He built a beautiful doll’s house from the scraps that is now in a museum in the Ottawa Valley. It is a cherished family treasure and we thought it, and its history should be shared with the world❤

    A former neighbour of mine made incredible dollhouses out of cardboard boxes and accessories out of random things. They were very detailed and to scale, right down to the tiniest piece of silverware. The houses were 2 story. The top floor could come off so that both the first and second floors could be played with simultaneously. These houses were incredible, with windows, shutters, doors,staircases, etc. My neighbour's name was Rosemarie Gauthier (not sure of spelling) She also did alterations for people in my building, and was very good at it! To top it all off, she was legally blind!

    A little tip. The best pots are the little finger holes for sliding closet doors. I think they are called closet door finger pulls. Some are deep. I use those for stock pots and some shallow I use for skillets. Buttons make good lids. You can paint them silver or black. I painted one to look like enamel. But I also make mine from other items.

    I started using odds and ends to make things for my dollhouse when I was about 6. That house was one of those metal ones with all the trees and things painted on it. I would use sheets of toilet paper as rugs, or ask for the screw ends of toothpaste tubes to make cups. It had furniture that was made of plastic. Here I am 60 years later still looking at bits and bobs and seeing things other than what they were intended for. I’ve made Barbie scale houses, and traditional 1:6 scale houses. I’ve also done a couple of railroad scenes. I really enjoy looking at miniatures and making them. I was lucky enough to see the miniature White House in Austin, Texas. I’m working on a Barbie house now. I’ve only got vision in one eye, but I do what I can. I really enjoyed watching your video. I will subscribe to your channel and check out more of your videos. 👍🏻

      @@tinycraftlife Thank you. That was nice. I wish you were near me, it is all way easier than it looks! My son is a computer engineer and I bought him the Creality Ender 3 3 D printer. He loves it. It is open source, which basically means the copyright holder, allows people to use change and study the software for any use. That’s really good for the rest of us because it just gets better with that many minds who are really interested in working on it. My son says it’s very easy to learn. There are a lot of videos out there and there are a lot of free software that help you create, the things you want to create. He makes me stuff for my cricut makes hangers for my mats. He makes toys. He makes speaker stands for his piano, all sorts of stuff. They are 160.00 on Amazon, which I know is a lot right now, but not unobtainable, like a 6k DTF printer! Good grief. I just keep converting printers🤣 They can’t keep us down! lol

      I know someone who runs a local community electronics center that is donations based and has a 3D printer with the plastic "thread" rigged to go up across the ceiling. I remember a couple of years ago he had 3D printed pieces for some smaller more home based sized 3D printers and I think he may have donated a few of those to schools.

    My question is, do you first think of the final product and find stuff that can be used to make them? Or you just look at the stuff you have and decide what to make with it?
    You have a creative mind.

    • @tinycraftlife
      @tinycraftlife  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you very much 😊💕 Great question! I can say both but most of the time I just skip the planning process and start making the items. When I have an idea, I look at the materials and start making the miniatures (I make changes as I go along). I enjoy the creative process but it doesn't always work the way I want it to.
      In this video I just looked at the different trash items / shapes and the ideas just came to me one by one.
