  • For today's video I made a miniature book. It would look great for a diorama project or as a tiny gift. You could also make it as a non fixed open book since the book has a stitched spine and it wont come apart.

I have learned how to bind books! In the printing school, my profession was called Artistic finishing bookbinder :) It was interesting to observe the techniques of making a miniature book. The only criticism - the corners of the lids could be made much cooler by cutting them off and folding them inwards. Thanks for the video! :)

What a beautiful little book. I'm making a Book Nook at the moment that's going to be a Victorian library, and I would love to include a book like this inside it. Would you mind if I copied your little book? I have some faux leather that I'd like to make the book cover out of, and I also want to make a tiny ink well and quill to go with it. I've made most of the library but I still need to make a desk to go in one side - the bookcase is on the other side - and a few more accessories, and then it will be finished. Love from Amanda Jones in Melbourne, Australia P.S Thank you for a great video tutorial ❤

@@amandajones6481 I was thinking just the same. I've got the Eternal Bookstore as a starter to learn how to make one. I don't like the flatness of some of the items so I've been collecting bits and pieces to individualise mine, to make candlesticks, gaslights/lamps, a rug and log basket (to hide the light switch) and a cushion for the chair and... so this will make a perfect large atlas or interesting tome. Actually I think I might turn it into a magical spell book and include partially hidden things in the Nook for the fun of it. I now need to find a tiny cat or dog, the ones for miniature railways are too small. Have fun with yours.

So good!! We had a bookbindery for years, so I was pleasantly surprised to see you knew the steps. This is awesome!! I want to make one now. Here's a little tip... old pleather jackets are a dime a dozen at the thrift stores now, and when you separate the pleather from the lining, it's surprisingly thin like plastic. It would be perfect for a project like this!
