As brilliant as this method is, I have to admit I'm obsessed with the idea of sewing a quilt at this size 😂 I've done small piecework before (2cm hexagons for a needle book), and squares would be easier and faster than all that minuscule hand-sewing between the hex edges!

This is wonderful thank you. A handy tip i have used for years is when tying some cotton and need it to be tight at the back start with a normal knot but when wrapping the thread under the right hand side do it twice before pulling it tight. It will stay tight without you having to keep a finger on it then do a 2nd one the same. Result. Really tight threads. I was taught this was called a quilters knot
