@@jesselee8963 the rubber from the tires driving on a road/track surface will fill in the minute gaps and cracks in the bitumen. It's like, imagine if you're driving along, very small chunks of rubber will come off your tires, that are equivalent in size to a grain of sand. These chunks of tire will fill in the gaps in the tarmac bitumen. Now, if the road or track surface is completely flat with no gaps, the rain water sits on top and doesn't sink into the tarmac. The result is that it's more slippery. Plus, that's without even mentioning that wet rubber does not grip wet rubber. Imagine anything rubber and wet, it's usually quite slippery. Wet a pencil eraser and slide it along another pencil eraser, for example.

We had a shed-built 160 bhp Civic EP3 beating a bunch of purpose built race cars, second fastest on track despite having the least power, because we were experimenting with the racing lines. I overtook a Porsche Cayman GT4 race car. Wet lines are amazing!

I've read that rubber left by drifters makes the track more dangerous, rubbered track on dry is cool but it makes the grip level go up on the racing line but also down if you're off line, which you will be more often than not during sunday drive. And rubber on track is especially dangerous in wet conditions: wet rubbered tarmac is way more slippery than clean wet tarmac, the racing line will become holiday on ice, so really not sunday driver friendly. drift tracks need heavier maintenance than a proper racing track, that's a thing that they don't want to do/pay for.
Book the hotel, a long time before you are going, to be sure that you have a place to stay. There is going to be quite alot of traffic, and alot of the parking areas are probably going to costs money. Dont drive like an idiot around the area. Other than that, just have the best time of your life 😁

A G body el Camino on the track thats surprising
They're surprisingly easy to handle when getting sideways, maybe a bit different with the El Camino as it's got no weight in the back compared to other G bodies... but I used to have a Buick Century Estate which was a G-body, and drove it in winter, with some good studded tires it was amazingly easy to control in a slide.
