Do not be fooled by traction control, it is an aid for beginners. The limited slip differential (LSD) is traction control for the professional driver. Traction control limits the rotation of the driven wheels, by lowering engine revs. The LSD also limits the rotation of the driven wheels, but it does not lower engine revs. Can you see the immediate advantage? Learn how to tune the LSD, and in the process of doing so, you will understand more about the car that you are driving.

The people who complain about using TC/ABS are ridiculous. These are features used in REAL RACE CARS. Not in all cars in all leagues of course but it's patently ridiculous to assume that turning on TC/ABS is somehow a crutch. With the ridiculous horsepower of many cars, they simply would not be controllable without these technological features.

In Sport you would hit the brakes the moment the word Brake flashed on screen.

I went from GT6 to GT7, skipping GTSport. I have to say although I never used it myself, cone markers were my favorite way to show clipping points and just like real life can be knocked and moved around. My dissapointment seeing it wasn't an option was higher than I thought it'd be. I just brake really early, then slowly and slowly brake later and later till I find the best braking point. You’ll also find natural land markers on the map to tell you when to brake the the meter markers or the black square signs you’ll see on some tracks like lago maggiore. It just takes time but I suggest you try the same the brake markers typically make you break very early imo.

For nordschleiffe its a trick with the gearbox and the way i drive that makes me much faster with a lot off cars this works for most other tracks but not all ..
the trick is a quite wide gearbox with a high top speed geared in a way you can hang in corners on low revs 1 gear higher then the indicator suggests it makes me go 20 km faster on some corners wich is a big deal if you can pull that off consistantly over longer tracks or in endurance races

  • @danielduke5059

I leave the braking and line indicators on it just makes it more fun for me some tracks i am pretty good on with or without but in general they help me judge the speed and helps me focus on driving i take them with a pinch of salt i use them like a guide and once i am used tocthe track 3 or 4 laps in i ignore them and docmy own thing there are some tracks where a certain corner always catches me out again after 3 or 4 laps i just follow the guide roughly and it helps me enjoy the game without having to restart over and over just my personal opinion that in "real" life you have 3 dimensions and the feeling of speed and braking so using this makes it more realistic for your average driver the pure hardcore racers will remember braking points ect i use it the same way and use it how i want to so as long as you dont completely follow it exactly and just find your own way they are worth leaving on and i dont think its cheating at all!

Previous GT releases leaving TC off was the way to get the fastest times..however GT7 PD has rethought this direction.
I know in the past it would be considered taboo to use TC, that somehow using TC, there would be those in the community who would actually berate drivers who used it.
I have always tried to explain that for years now, today even more than ever, TC is a big part of racing, more specifically GT3 as an example. Stability control however is pretty much banned throughout racing.
My theory is, like you leaving it on default, if the real world car or series has/allows it then it’s ok to use. IF you’re goal is simulation, then we should try to mimic real world is close as possible imho.
Like you,I was heavily into sim, spending thousands of hours, all Dev versions…worked hard for years trying to put my rig together…in the earlier days, I was buying used piecing together what I could! Hell, I remember when Pcars came out in 2016, I still couldn’t afford a wheel, so my first 600-700+hrs was all on controller. Finally scraping the money together to get a used T300, building a home made rig…well, the sheer use, 4hrs+ a day through the week and 10-12+hrs/day on the weekends…the T300 lasted about a year, blew the worm gear…Thrustmaster wanted just as much to fix as to replace…so I bought my first used Fanatec…GT3rs, I was hooked on Fanatec, what a wheel and difference from Thrustmaster to Fanatec.
Anyway, I ended up finally getting my rig where I wanted it. upgraded the rig, and the wheel /pedals….but unfortunately unknown to me, I was burning out, had spent $500 on iRacing alone, was putting hundreds of hrs RaceRoom, iRacing, AC, ACC, StockCar Extreme…then in 2020, I had received a big promotion and I stepped out of the rig, didn’t touch it for two years…GT7 revised me….something about just being able to use the controller if you want, or wheel..GT7 going back to its grassroots, gave me the incentive to get back into SiM. Love GT7 . I just need to find a way not to put myself in the same position as last time, which turned me away from Racing SiM burnout.

Because it affects drivers' pride lol. In GT races IRL, TC and ABS are used, so why not use them here in GT7 if they are working properly?

Only in extreme cases is it "needed" in reality, and its intent is almost always to save someone who doesn't know what they're doing, but its just not. And 95% of the cars in the game should be fine to drive with it off. TC on is literally taking away from you learning how to drive the game properly, and is also less rewarding and fun.
Just turn it iff and practice practice practice.

I found that its easier to trailbreak with abs set to weak.

All I do is ABS on weak and I adjust traction control depending on the car's power playing between 1 and 3 and it's perfect for me :)

Awesome. The most important thing is to use what works for you 👍🏻👍🏻

Super cool that you are doing this for those beginning, having had the benefit of your guidance in GT I know that it will be essential and of high value to all.
    Like deployed 👍

How the hell did you get the pew pews from the turbo?! Mine does not do that!

The Supra GT500 does. I’ve not changed anything on it 🤷🏻‍♂️

That’s so weird, I have the same car from preordering the game and it doesn’t do that lol

Is there a way to adjust the actual rotational sensitivity? Or is it lo ked at 1:1 steering Rotation? I would prefer to only have to turn my wheel 90 degrees and have it do a full turn in game.

I don’t think there is a way. I think with the wheel it is usually fixed 1:1 ratio.
