This is the first soft natural recommendation and analysis thing I've seen that doesn't make me want to vomit at the ugly recommendations and lines that really aren't great for this body type but everyone recommends anyway (those cigarrete or loose pants with tight cuffs makes SN look so cheap). You make it sound so elegant and chic yet ethereal somehow. Thank you.
This makes so much sense. The free movement is big as a soft natural. Because we tend to have broader chests/ shoulders, jackets, blazers, sweaters and other tops can be restrictive in the arm area. I hate the feeling of having restrictive arms. Sometimes the fit is good on my waist but in the arms/shoulder area it’s too tight. It helps the a looser/baggier top look suits a SN body. The material also matters because some materials are more stiff while others can be tighter fit but not restrictive. This is what helped me finally realize I’m a SN.
I have bounced between soft dramatic and soft classic ever since I discovered Kibbe. However, I realised I couldn't be soft dramatic because people were always shocked when I said I was 5ft8. So even though I was tall, it seemed I didn't quite look that tall I couldn't also be soft classic because soft classic is the smaller version of classic and my features are too bold to be that. I never considered natural because I had this image of them being 'squarish' and I felt myself to be more 'rectangular". But yesterday, I had the Holy Spirit whisper I should consider soft natural and I think I have found my place. Even when it comes to vibe, I believe I give off that feminine yet girlish bubbly feel, a bit like Jennifer Lawrence. That's me in my profile pic. Since yesterday I've been trying to find videos about this my new found type and yours was the clearest. Thank you very much and keep up the good work.
At 5’8 that’s automatically needing to accommodate for vertical. Sn height limit is 5’6 and kibbe states that once you reach 5’7 you’re automatically creating a vertical line within the frame. Kibbe has a completely different view of what “curve” is. Soft classic height limit is also 5’5 or 5”6. At 5’8 you can really only fit into the vertical accommodating types (FN,D, SD)
@@Cosmickittyyythat doesn’t seem right, one of the most important traits of dramatics is that they look long, and from the op’s description they are not so I feel it immediately eliminates the possibility of them being dramatic
For the longest time I thought I couldn’t be SN because I don’t have broad shoulders, chest, or facial features. I have come to realize ‘Kibbe width’ does NOT mean every soft natural has broad shoulders or a prominent chest. It simply means the lines you see when you look at your body in relationship to your overall appearance. I like your descriptions for the clothing lines, hair and accessories.
I found the kibbe approach to be the first system ever where I actually felt free instead of dressed up in someone elses taste and style (if that makes sense), only depressing thing is that it confirmed a fact I already had noticed- that as a romantic/rounded type I look so much more untidy when my hair is not styled. And I do need a bit of gold or silver near my face or lipgloss/mascara not to look almost dead even though I slept 8h🙄😬I really saw a difference when I took pictures in natural ”bed head” kinda hair and rounded romantic styled hair. I do find the hair difficult still. 😞
Great video. I was actually confused for a while between Flamboyant gamine and soft natural. I know people don't see them as similar, but I was. It's the squarish but not quite square frame of both types and the not tall but also not short. And I love the bold and edgy looks of FG much more than the ultra-fmeinine, too romantic matronly recommendations they sometimes give to SN. But I do think I am SN and there is no content anywhere for us. I have also come to realize that the vibe and essence you give off can influence what types of clothing fit you best, more than just the pure kibbe type. Jennifer Lawrence has a somewhat ethereal, dreamy look to her face, which is why is confusing between FN and SN. I honestly don't know what she is. I think that's why sometimes the kibbe system falls short. It's a good start, but then you have to look a bit further with essences and lifestyle and personality.
This was a really quality video, I'm happy it was recommended to me and I can't wait to watch the romantic one since I still trying to figure out which one I am. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for this video! I was stuck and couldn't decide if I was a soft classic. But with my broad shoulders and wider chest the soft classic didn't quite fit. I think I've finally found my body type! Maybe I have a classic essense because I've always been told I look great in more minimal detail, neutrals and more simple tailored silhouettes. I also gravitated toward classic because it felt right for my personality and taste?
Glad it was helpful! You might have a mixed type where a SN is your dominant feature and Classic is secondary, which would also mean that both of these styles would fit you. It is Dwyn Larson system that comes forward because Kibbe may be too limited here.
Great video! Thanks for sharing! I think Jennifer Lawrence is Flamboyant Natural, although her face has roundness and she is generally fleshy. Drew Barrymore is Romantic. I’m not sure about Matilda. Fergie is Soft Natural. The clothing recommendations are great, though!
As a soft natural myself, I find it so hard to buy the right jeans/trousers. I prefer to wear skirts. I have 3 skinny jeans that look OK, but I’m allready 31 and I look way younger in skinny jeans than in a skirt/dress. When I wear a wider jeans/straight jeans/pantalons I look extreme wide, heavier than I am, and I look very boyish. All the woman from 7:00 are really slim and very good in shape, so it’s easier for them to rock a wider pair of jeans. (I have a BMI of 22..) It’s an OK body type to have, with some bennefits. But I find it very hard to look professional/look my age without looking like someone who is trying too hard.
Thank you for your analysis of soft naturals, I'm learning a lot! I am curious about what types of hair styles flatter African descent soft naturals, and would like to know some African descent celebrities with this body type.
Thank you for the video. Very helpful information. Is it possible to lower the background music in future video? I struggled to hear you clearly. Thank you 🙏
I'm a little confuse by all these Kibbe types, but I think that this is the type closest to my body type. However, I have a questions, can I still be a soft natural if I mostly gain weight in my bust an dupper arm area, as well as in my lower belly? 🤔 I don't have an hourglass figure, tho, because my waist is broad...
I think she was mistyped as a flamboyant natural because of her verticality. But she is also very soft and not at all as muscular as flamboyant naturals. Her figure is also predominantly hourglass and rounded. I think she is a soft natural that has to accommodate slightly for verticality.
If you don't find a precise Kibbe type for yourself and suspect other types being included to your appearance, it's better to take Dwyn Larson theory and see if you have multiple compiled type like Natural-Romantic or Classic-Romantic, etc. I will start covering those "confused" types next month.
I don't think so, just more unusual facial features. Every race has their generic looks and those within that race and ethnicity that look different, more prominent or sharp facial features.
I wonder about this type the most for myself. In so many ways it adds up: I’m 171cm tall, and have broad shoulders, large bust and hips, stupidly small hands and UK 4.5 feet, moderate to shortish limbs. My cheeks are pretty full too. But then the parts that don’t add up are my waist is just under 14 inches smaller than bust and hips and is the slowest to put on weight. Also there is v little rectangular feel to my body and face as well as I have a pretty narrow, soft jawline and lots of curves everywhere. I often feel like a cute or romantic style suits me best but I’m well over the height limit so I guess the vertical line takes over? Basically I need help haha 😂
Sounds like Soft Natural, but also I'd look into Larson's typing because it allows a few types to be present in 1. So you could be a mix of both Romantic and Natural. There is no need to force yourself into a type you don't really fit 100%.
