Fascinating...and wonderfully helpful for those of us not raised wearing scarves as accessories as is done in Europe and other countries. Love this video!
I love scarves too and have TONS of them. I have to admit though, you’re right. I never think to just throw one on when I’m dashing off to the grocery store. You bring up another really important point. I’ve own most of my scarves for decades. My 75 year old face and hair don’t have near the color I had at 30. Everything kind of fades a bit. I need to reassess which scarves suit me best now. As for you, you’d seriously look fantastic in a burlap sack with a burlap belt. You’re so gorgeous in a very fresh and natural way.
Yes! I have lots of scarves left from the old days. Too pretty to get rid of and don't take up much storage space. But, I do need to reevaluate the colors! Scarves that worked in my 30s are not great in my 70s. Maybe some will finally get recycled somehow.
PS - I have many important things to do today. Instead, I'm pulling out every scarf I own to play dress up. I'm sure there's one of yours I urgently need . . . PSS - In the Kapalıçarşı (Covered Bazaar) in Istanbul, there is a tiny little shop the size of a small closet. It's filled, floor to ceiling, with watercolor silk scarves. It's one of only two shops I visit there. The other has incredible one-off pieces of fabulous creative jewelry.

I think it was near the Beyazıt Gate and sort of off to the right not too far into the bazaar. The shop was the size of a tiny closet, but the scarves from floor to ceiling caught my eye. My favorite jeweler is Irfan Atabey of Antik Silver. Address is İçbedestan No. 267, also in the Kapalıçarşı. He designs beautiful pieces in both gold and silver. I bet you know Leb-i-derya Kumbaracı at Kumbaracı Yokoşu 57/6 in Tünel (very hip and tasty restaurant with a great view), and Hotel Sultan Hill, Sultanahmet Mah. Tavukhane Sk. No. 17/19/21. The BEST view around. Have a coffee on the roof. Iyi yolculuklar! PS - Irfan Atabey may have another shop called Kapaliçarş Joyas, Meşrutiyet Cad. Avrupa Pasajı No. 3 in Beyoğlu. Sadly I left Istanbul 10 years ago, so some places may have moved. Turkçe praktik yapmam lazım. I need to return!
As I age, and being a very short person (& getting shorter), I've abandoned print clothing, and only wear solids. Scarves allow me to have some color, a print, etc., and it doesn't chop me up and make me appear shorter. And as I age and begin to spill things down my front (especially if someone makes me laugh at an inopportune time), if I go out sans scarf, I ALWAYS have one in my purse that can cover up a coffee spill. It doesn't take up any space, and sometimes I tie them to my purse handle for an emergency coverup. Great too if wearing something that winds up a little too low cut, it helps create a little modesty when needed.
I'm very short also, and quite thin. I love scarves but most of them are so huge that even folded, it's way too much material. I rarely see smaller scarves.
Some of the best fashion advice I've ever come across. And how nice to see someone speaking up for muted colours: everything seems to be about "bold" "big" "fun," but this advice is the real thing.
I am now stuck in the house for the next couple of months due to breaking several bones. But, damn it, I'm still going to make an effort. I'm 30 years old and you're my new style inspiration. I'm tired of the stale way I used to dressed up in my 20's, it was almost like I was afraid for some reason to play dress up like I did when I was a kid. I'm getting that spirit back and you really make me love getting into that. Thank you :*

Great to see a pro-scarf video. But to ladies of a certain age, let me say this; we need scarves to cover our older necks. That, alone should be enough incentive. I have to add that autoimmune disease prevents me from coloring my gray pageboy. With my pale skin, a colored scarf is a must. I'm a life-long Winter, and wear turquoise and bright pink scarves. The added color gets compliments everywhere. Enjoy these little life-savers!

Timely! I've been trying to make a point of looking good when I go anywhere, instead of schlepping out in ratty jeans and a worn out sweatshirt, and was just thinking about all the scarves I own that I hardly ever wear! Inspiration! Thank you!!
It was a Summer of 2019. Covid time. Everybody stayed home. I went for a walk in my town in very pretty colorful vibrant skirt and a solid bright color top. I had my hair comb nicely, not perfectly done, I would say casually done. I had a hop in my step that day. My neighbor looked at me with a little question in her eyes. But that didn’t stop me of having fun that day in my little suburban town, walking down the street to see my friend. Life is short and beautiful. And it is a pleasure to meet people like you.

I loved this video! I recently started wearing silk scarves and little bandanas around my neck. I've always worn big ones in winter, but the little silk scarves have been revolutionary. I had no idea how much they'd keep my neck from tensing up, and you're right. They make any casual outfit look put together. I also agree with your comment in the description about Quince cashmere. Such a wonderful selection and price. Thanks for putting these videos out.
As soon as I saw the intro with your arms laden with your scarves, i knew I was with a kindred spirit. I too have quite a scarf collection from all my travels…it’s always fun to use scarves for accessorizing, perking up my face or outfit or being functional and providing warmth. Your scarves are beautiful and enjoyed seeing your suggestions (agree, strangers DO compliment bold colored scarves 😂).
Ah! The scarves from travels are so fun. They remind you of all the good times you've had. They're perfect for so many reasons. Glad you're here with us scarf ladies! 😘

You have influenced me. The first section I check at the op shop now is scarves. I don’t look; I feel. If I feel silk, I pause. I found a gorgeous silk scarf yesterday at my local op shop. Sadly, the pattern wasn’t quite me, so I left it for someone else to love. I’ve had enough good fortune to resist any I don’t love 100%.
I'm 64 and have always worn scarves, many handed down from my mom. After enjoying a dressing down period I'm returning to make up and accessories when I go out. I love the new inspiration and styling tips.

You have given me some great ideas for scarves. I have always taken good care of my face, neck & chest with my skincare but at 68 I didn’t like how my neck looked in a recent photo. I thought I would just switch to turtlenecks but they are not too easy to find. The scarf is the perfect solution, thank you!
i have some gorgeous scarves sitting on my shelves that I haven't even put on yet. I got some good ideas from this video. The best thing is how I don't need to know how to make fancy ties or knots or freaking patterns with the scarf like in so many other starf tutorials - your methods are so simple but make a huge difference.
I love your approach.😍😍❤❤👍👍This way of dressing has all the feeling of how chic French women dress their outfits up! I'm English and am currently having anxieties about my wardrobe! I have tons of scarves and jewellery. I'm going to have a play inspired by you.
Great vide, and true about contrast, however would be useful also to mention about physical features such as short / long hair, short/long neck and proportional length of torso…
I've just come across your videos. I'm an instant fan. Your show and tell style is very entertaining, and a little whimsical! I love your life scenarios and your scarf solutions to them - both imaginative and fun! I will take on board your saying....."and why not?" and run with it.
I loved this! I love scarves and have about 6 or 8, but have only worn them a few times to church. Now I'mma get them out of the closet and start wearing them everywhere!!! Such a fun video for a rainy Sunday when I didn't make it to church.
I have a small collection of silk scarves-started collecting from thrift stores as a teenager~ Mostly just bought for the color/pattern. Now I can set an intention this year to actually wear them and now you've given me plenty of ideas!
Your voice in my ear while getting dressed would be good! Excellent points all the way through and I love that you paired your gorgeous scarves with some "anybody' garments! Cheers!! from another scarf human!
I’ve long worn scarves with tee shirts, sweatshirts, jogger outfits, and jeans in order to dress up these casual pieces. I think they look great with trainers because of the contrast in style. I wear a scarf to grocery shop, or walking in my neighborhood, and as a cover up at the beach. I agree with you that wearing a scarf with a more formal or business outfit looks a bit stiff and fussy. There are a million scarves and styles…and I want to wear them all. 😆
You may have arms full of beautiful scarves, but you beat that with your bags full of personality! First time I have seen one of your videos but I am so glad I did - I’ve subscribed because I love what you do and you have really brightened up my day. Thank you.🥰
WOOHOO!!!🎉 I would love to wear one of my scarves and “hike up a volcano!”!!!!! Diana your creativity and imagination and vibrancy and French “I don’t care!” REALLY inspire me!!!!❤
this was an awesome video. I have all my mom's scarves, she wore them everywhere. I want to wear them more often, but I don't want to look like an old lady wearing a scarf, know what I mean. This gave me some great ideas. ( I am 60 so kinda an old lady, but hey let's not rush it) Thank you

I appreciate how you talk about wearing the same scarves in town or out hiking. Breaks our rigid thinking about one-or-the-other scarves. I guess scarves are really versatile!
Oh my gosh, I just found you and love you! This video is the best, so much good information. In the past, I’ve searched and searched for good information on wearing scarves! My problem is I don’t have many colorful silk scarves, instead owning a multitude of infinity scarves in solid colors. I’m going to see if I can resize some and use in the ways you’ve shown (at least those with some color variation). And the information on best colors for myself, very good. Never thought to actually look for which ones brighten my face, but I know which colors definitely don’t look good on me. Thank you so much for this information! 💕
Great video! I’m a fellow scarf lover and have to admit I need to pull them out more! You’re fun and I’m encouraged. Glad I stumbled upon your channel today! I subscribed ☺️.
So fun! I'm inspired. Now I know what I'm going to do on the next cold, rainy, winter day. I'm going to play with my jewelry and scarves! P.S. I have my eye on the Edie scarf but I just bought two Quince cashmere sweaters a few days ago! I'll be back here no doubt.
15:55 If you’re not playing with your clothes, what are you doing ? I LOVE it….It speaks to my heart deeply. One of the things I don’t understand is why is everything about being comfortable and casual. It doesn’t make sense that not wearing a sweat shirt means being “uncomfortable “ 🤷♀️
I love scarves, too, and have dozens of them. They keep me warm in the winter and keep the sun off of me in the summer. They take up so little space, but can add that "je ne sais quoi" to any outfit. Since they are not commonly worn by other ladies these days, they help you stand out a bit in a good way. It shows you care about your clothing and your style. I have a storage system for them so I can find the one that I want. I keep them clean and steamed and in good repair. They last forever if you take care of them. Just the other day a neighbor gave me some beautiful, collectible silk scarves from a friend who no longer wanted them. She told her she knew someone who would love them (me!) I don't usually dress casually to go out, but for anyone who does and wants to add a scarf, be careful around Velcro. Velcro and silk = disaster.
So glad i stumbled across your channel! I work mostly from home now, but used to wear scarves quite a bit at work. I love the casual look too, and will give those a shot! You are gorgeous either way, but it's really clear what you are saying when you put the different scarves up to your face. Thanks for the tips!
I love your videos. My main problems with wearing scarves are two-fold: one, I kind of feel like I'm choking with things around my throat, and two, any scarf with dangly ends tends to get into things -- the cat food I'm dishing up, the bathroom sink when I'm washing my hands, or my dinner. I'm still trying to figure out how to solve them, because I love scarves. Oh, and I'm a soft summer, too -- I hope you do get your colors done.
Ya I agree. Hate having things around my neck. And don't live in a cold place so don't need to. Carry a small cloth to wipe sweat off my face but I wouldn't wear it!
Diana and a scarf video? Happy days!!! 😍😂 I'm a Soft Summer/Soft Autumn too, although nowhere near as neutral as you as I lean strongly to the Summer side. I'm also very low contrast with freckled skin, blue eyes and white hair framing my face. I still love the deep winter colours I used to wear when I had brilliant copper red hair and a higher contrast, so I've been using my scarves to act as buffer between my deep winter coloured clothes and my face. Works a treat! 😊
Working on a capsule wardrobe and rounding it out with scarves. I buy a lot of second hand scarves that are unique. I have nowhere near as many as you 😂
Love this video-the first of yours that Ive watched. I am now subscribed. I love your sassiness...and your styling with scarves. Thank you for your advice!
For the scarves that don’t sing on me (love that phrase and will now be using it!), I tie them around a purse strap. It adds a lovely pop and won’t wash me out! I’m also a soft autumn/soft summer neutral with medium contrast. I have light neutral/warm olive skin, amber eyes, and ash brown hair. Finally seeing why I gravitate toward some colors over others, and why some muted cool colors still look good on me, but finding complexion makeup is the bane of my cosmetic existence lol.
I love the purse strap idea! I do that sometimes too. Your coloring sounds a lot like mine. Matching my skin has been difficult but I recently found a perfect match with Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. I was so surprised to see it blend in seamlessly!
OMG, I LOVE your videos and your attitude is effing great! So refreshing to see original creative fun ideas. I have 50 scarves I've collected and have not worn any for the reasons you mentioned. Tomorrow is a new day! Thanks and keep the videos coming!💜
I'm so glad I found this channel today! I am kind of known for wearing scarves, and I would wear one every day, but I try to mix it up!! Last year I bought some thrifted scarves from Etsy, so now I'm hooked!
I spent several weeks in Sicily this fall with friends and wanted to look chic but casual because Italians are very chic. I wore a scarf with everything and my friends were so impressed at how a simple accessory could upgrade a casual outfit.
I'm 62. Love scarves.Scarves. but as chin droop issues arrived I felt they drew attention to that area. I have since come to the conclusion if worn longer and with more drape and spread at the chest and below the opposite is true. So I'm happy to wear them again.
CONGRATULATIONS! WE SHOULD TRY TO LOOK GOOD ALL THE TIME SINCE EVERY DAY IN OUR LIVES IS AS IMPORTANT, AND EVERY PERSON IN OUR LIFE IS AS IMPORTANT, EVEN IF WE DON´T KNOW THEM. WE SHOULD STOP AS A SOCIETY DRESSING BADLY, IT IS SAD. LET´S ALL GET WELL DERESSED!

Welcome! I'm glad you're here! 😘
Yay!
This was just delightful! You are so fun to watch, and inspiring. I think you might single-handedly bring back scarf-wearing. 😊
☺️
Your voice in my ear while getting dressed would be good! Excellent points all the way through and I love that you paired your gorgeous scarves with some "anybody' garments! Cheers!! from another scarf human!
i frankly love how you talk, your storm of expressions and humor
☺️
You're a great stylist. Thanks! You've given me a lot of ideas. Your scarves are beautiful.
Thank you! 😊
Can you tell me what is the most practical and versatile size for a silk scarf to wear every day? Thanks! Love your quirky self!❤
You have a great & fun personality. Thanks for all the great ideas.
Thanks for watching! 🥰
Fabulous Tutorial. Thank you ! Elle
Thank you so much Rosita! You brightened my day! 😘😘😘
I like putting on a scarf while not looking in the mirror. Try it! The vibe jives with this great video. Thanks UY!
😍
I love my scarves!! Thanks for encouraging more people to wear them. ❤
WOW!! Who knew? Certainly not me! I love all these looks, I’m going to ask for scarves for Christmas!
You're so fun, adorable and inspiring! I am going to buy myself a silk scarf now.
I hope you love it but I think you will!
You know what else? Those scarves also add a look of confidence.
Yes for sure!
Love your delivery- you are adorable.🎉
Aw! Thank you!
You may have arms full of beautiful scarves, but you beat that with your bags full of personality! First time I have seen one of your videos but I am so glad I did - I’ve subscribed because I love what you do and you have really brightened up my day. Thank you.🥰
Like the ideas with the square silk scarves. I always struggle using these ones
Loved it when you said…… Why wouldn’t you do that ?? I couldn’t come up with an answer. I am going to try to ‘ branch out’ 😂🌷
My mantra is "Why not?" 😁
You are so fun to watch 🙂 Thanks for putting a smile on my face this evening.
Ahh! Thank you!
Thank you for your fun, playful presentation of super helpful tips!
You are lovely - inside and out!
Thank you! Glad you liked this! 😘
🌸This was really fun! Thank you! 🌸
WOOHOO!!!🎉
I would love to wear one of my scarves and “hike up a volcano!”!!!!!
Diana your creativity and imagination and vibrancy and French “I don’t care!” REALLY inspire me!!!!❤
What a charming, charming presentation!
this was an awesome video. I have all my mom's scarves, she wore them everywhere. I want to wear them more often, but I don't want to look like an old lady wearing a scarf, know what I mean. This gave me some great ideas. ( I am 60 so kinda an old lady, but hey let's not rush it) Thank you
Definitely check out my video on ways to wear scarves that aren't around your neck. You might find some ways in there that feel fresh! th-cam.com/video/MDZfXv8bxzo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=m3D3NYqVh8-eBRql
I appreciate how you talk about wearing the same scarves in town or out hiking. Breaks our rigid thinking about one-or-the-other scarves. I guess scarves are really versatile!
Thank you Diana. Fabulous as ever. Full of great ideas. Keep going .😊xx
Yay! I'm so glad you found the video helpful, Mary Kay! 💕 Maybe have some of those infinity scarves cut and hemmed?
Great video! I’m a fellow scarf lover and have to admit I need to pull them out more! You’re fun and I’m encouraged. Glad I stumbled upon your channel today! I subscribed ☺️.
Yay! Welcome!! Glad you're here! 😍
You are adorable. You could wear anything and look fabulous.
Aw thank you so much! 🥰
i've always loved scarfs though i kind of took a break but i'm now reintroducing them into my wardrobe. First time here. so engaging. great tips!
I just realized I’ve been doing this Scarf thing all wring lol. Thanks for the tips! Great video!! ❤️
Glad you enjoyed this!
How refreshing! A fashion video with a free spirit sharing advice we can all benefit from (even if you are not into scarves). Keep shining!!
Your presentation is so cute! ☺ I like your ideas too. ☑ Thank you !
You are blowing my mind…..I can’t wait to try a scarf
Gifted scarves! Omg! 😍
Great inspiration and encouragement! I think I need to work more on just doing me/being me and not caring what others think.
Yes! 😘
I think she’d be a warm or true spring if she got her colours done.
Diana... I so needed your vibe today! Thx gurl!
Yay! Glad it helped! Have a great day 😘
I love this, where have you been all my life.
I don't know but I'm glad you're here now!
thanks for the scarf inspo! You're a gem!
Diana and a scarf video? Happy days!!! 😍😂
I'm a Soft Summer/Soft Autumn too, although nowhere near as neutral as you as I lean strongly to the Summer side.
Sounds like a lovely combo! So fun to experiment as we change. Nice to see you!!
Yay! Welcome! 😘
Your hair is amazing!
Thank youuuuuuu!
I love scarfs too and have a lot of which I have been collecting for years. So much fun watching your videos………thanks!!!!!
The point is proven! Great video.
Great video - thank you, from a scarf tragic. I now have some ideas for wearing my scarfs - my largest and happiest scarves I have hanging on walls.
I'm 62. Love scarves.Scarves. but as chin droop issues arrived I felt they drew attention to that area. I have since come to the conclusion if worn longer and with more drape and spread at the chest and below the opposite is true. So I'm happy to wear them again.
Great tip!!
Life is so short! We are so lucky to be here 😘
100% agree with your statement. I think we’ve all become a little too casual in our appearance. COVID is done, let’s get back to dressing better 👗
I love scarves, but tend to I only wear long scarves. I want to change that after seeing all the beautiful colors in your smaller scarves.
