I also have been "diagnosed" as a soft natural lol it kind of helped me accepting my own body. I am not overwheight but I used to feel like it when wearing some clothes that made me look bigger than I am or too square, if you know what I mean. When trying to dress formally I felt like putting myself in a box, and OMG how weird I look in formal taylored outfits.
I totally know what you mean! When I was younger I used to struggle with it so much, and most of my friends were classics so I always felt like a fridge beside them haha I try to avoid formal events because it’s the same for me. The place I feel most comfortable usually is like hiking or the gym lol
@@welltrying same, wide shoulder girl with fridge waist/ hip is totally me lol.. but i find it to be quite charming on its own. it would be boring if we all looked the same, right ? :)
Discovering I was a soft natural was a relief for me in the same way! I LOVE the dark academia aesthetic, but I was dismayed to find that boyish wide-legged trousers and oversized blazers made me look ridiculously wide and shapeless, whereas other more “delicate“ girls seemed to be able to pull it off perfectly! I now know that those looks work best on willowy dramatics and gamines. ☹️ BUT, thanks to Kibbe, I still figured out how to get the vintage, dark academia look while still honoring my body type! Which is so much better.

I'm hella looking for v-shaped necklines from now on, after seeing you in them are you joking? bangin bangin, especially in that red dress , like a beautiful italian women walking home with a basket of fresh vegetables and men on balconies professing their love to you
Hahaha love the imagery of the red dress because I delusionally walk around in it wondering why people aren’t throwing baguettes and flowers at me, like what gives? Glad to hear this spoke to you and thank you for the kind comment! It does feel like a struggle but glad that us naturals are uniting!
I used to have a black dress in a similar shape that I got when I lived in France, and I literally called it my "bonjour dress" because men would say hello to me so much more often in it! Often as a plus sized woman I was ignored or worse in France, but that dress was PERFECT
Another SN here 🙋🏼♀️ it took going on redit to discover this, because for the couple of years of researching it on my own I was incorrectly self-diagnosing as some sort of romantic type or soft classic… trying to fit those, but when i overcame the mental block of being slightly “broad” and “blunt” and let go of self-rejection I really started to feel myself finally and celebrate being a soft natural… the description of essence really fits. I have recently learned about Kibbe and have determined that I think I am a soft natural, but I can tell you that that took a ton of research for me to figure out. I’m about 5’7 and very athletically built however, I’ve always tended to have thicker thighs and a butt. I prob lean towards slightly being overweight, but overall, I’m slim. My whole life, I’ve felt off in my body and always felt like an entire ogre next to my smaller friends. Seeing this video and understanding kibbe makes me feel like I have more control over how I dress myself because I often feel bulky or stumpy in my clothes.
I have felt very similarly at times. Often have felt so huge next to women as short as me and could never understand why. Kibbe makes me feel like I have control over what I wear too and it makes me feel better about not having control over how big my bones are. The more I learn the better I feel. Hope this video helps!

Hey so good to find someone who is a soft natural doing videos specifically for SN. I believe I'm an SN too, I feel you kinda resemble Kristen Bell sho is a Natural, but all of us N family can borrow style from each other because nobody is perfectly N or SN or FN. I'm 5'3 but I can borrow a lot of FN style (even though my legs are stockier than FN XD). I took a longgggg time for me to find SN line and I used to have a hard time to style myself, so lucky I stumbled upon Kibbe system (from body and style Ellie-Jean!). When I was younger and leaner I used to dress in a lot of SD lines (cause I thought I was an SD) although it never really quite me .. and when I gained weight, SD line totally didn't work for me and I just started to feel bad that I'm not thin enough to dress nicely.. turns out it was just the wrong kibbe line! Dressing an SN is still a challenge but no where as hard as before and I really enjoy the process now cause I know what to look for.
Yay, these are beautiful outfit lines that definitely speak to me (in my color palette though), and I've been strongly leaning towards Soft Natural (though with some ethereal/angelic essence and definitely appreciating the romantic undercurrent...and I do resonate with a bunch of boho). If that dress wasn't red (just isn't my color but is gorgeous on you) I'd buy it! I LOVE it. Where's it from? I would highly recommend Nona from Aligned Lover who did my typing, she was really lovely and so insightful on the topic. I’d also say that your body type is one thing but then there’s also your essence and it’s good not to confuse the two. I’d recommend Gabrielle Arruda’s videos that explain this. My thoughts on your type is that I don’t see Soft Natural and with your height I’d suggest you were a type of Gamine, perhaps a Soft Gamine. I don’t see a Romantic type from looking at your videos and it is possible you may be a Classic but my hunch is you are a Gamine. It may be worth playing around with horizontal lines and colour blocking as this may help to see if you fit in another type to Natural. Also clean lines look very good on you! All the best on your journey. ☺️

I feel like I'm a soft natural my features are kinda soft round and a little fluffy but my bellys usually lean
but I still usually look fleshy
It's really hard, it's not B W H measurements. It's the bones structure. There's actually a really good TH-cam video and it's the simplest one I've found for typing. I'll see if I can find it and put the link 🙂

It takes everyone ages to work their type out, it's hard trying to analyse your body can feel really negative sometimes. Just narrowing it down and try outfits can help some times
you are so pretty
thank you for saying so!
Your face looks kind of like the main character's best friend in The Princess Diaries, that sort of quirky girl Lily - you're quite much prettier though :)
💜💜💜
possibly gamine???
you look like angelina jolie (your facial features i mean) and she’s also a soft natural! our body type is frequently ruled by some of the raddest women in the world-own it!
Haha wow what a nice comment! You’re totally right, all my favs are SN and the more I learn about kibbe the happier I am with my SN self. Thanks for watching!
Angelina is Flamboyant Natural, not Soft Natural.
@@BbGun-lw5vi ok, thanks
@@BbGun-lw5vi angelina jolie is unverified but almost widely agreed to at least be natural family. it’s fine if you think she’s FN, but I veer towards SN personally!
@@cookycandy4 It’s true that until AJ is verified, we can’t say for sure. It’s just to me she’s so FN. I don’t see curve at all even at her healthy weight when she was younger. I see width and vertical. And to me she looks best in FN head to toe looks.
Can a soft natural have an hourglass figure? 🤔
Truthfully not sure, kibbe is pretty confusing to me but Scarjo is apparently a soft natural and she’s an hourglass all the way
yes i am SN but i have a very hourglass shape! but once i gain weight it’s immediately in my belly/mid section. but my frame/width make me very SN
Im confused if im soft natural or theatrical romantic
Ohh that’s a tough one!
Soft naturals really do have the most angelic faces of all kibbe body types. I feel like our faces just stand out.
Totally agree!
perfect balance of structured and soft!
I'd say you're more of a classic type than a natural.
