I have caught soft shell turtles fishing rivers in East Texas. Some fight as hard or harder than a big catfish. They eat as well as any fish in the water. Great video, all the different baits, a beautiful river, and big blues! What a grand time!
That's how I roll is the old school gear, still use all my grandpa's stuff from the 50's to the 70's. There's some magic in that old gear in my experience, I catch more and bigger fish on it.
My pops been using the same abu Garcia that he bought in 2000 to this day.. when it comes to fishing i definitely say they don’t make em like they used to

All you have to do is loosen your drag you don't need to have to open up your bail. Does a boost in your drag and this way to fish will take it. And then when you're ready just tighten the drag and set the hook.

hate the soft shell turtles, sometimes it is hard to fish for the turtles. I used to fish for catfish but usually gar fished for the fight. I would let them stop 3 times before setting the hook in order for them to swallow the bait and actually hook them. I am just over the state line in Arkansas, fish the Quachita River and the Mountain Fork river mainly for cats.
Here in Ontario we can now use 3 rods each for carp , but the baits must all be organic , no worms , minnows , shrimp , or meat of any kind . Corn and grain mixes are mostly used here . The Great Lakes have carp well over 40 lbs. My best so far is 36 lbs . BTW , great video , always fun to watch .

Great video bro honestly the big carp u catched right after the smaller one u filleted i like that catch the most because one day i was fishing for cruisan carp like the smaller species and then i thought why not put corn on my hook just to try and 2 minutes go by i see the float going and i striked but the problem is he didnt swallow it how he should have and he got off its the exact same look like that one u let go and it would have been my first ever real carp but eh what can i do except to try again this year anyways ur rods and gear are amazing u seem like u know whats real gear good job bro keep going 👍
