I bought a FlySky GT-5 controller with gyro receiver for mine (H14BM). The stability control of the gyro helps control it immensely. In stock configuration, I couldn’t control it in the dirt. The stability control saved the day. Super fast, super fun, and great price.
This was a fun video Phil. I sent the link to a few friends as Christmas gift ideas. Kids get harder to shop for the older they get but there is no age limit on RCs. This one looks like a lot of fun and is a nice deal at $200 including batteries and all the spare parts. Good stuff man.

Dude this looks like a mini version of my Kraton 8s, already have 2 Hyper Go cars, love how easy they are to work on. This one is my current fav cause of the longer body

Good camera work. I’ve been trying different ways of filming my rcs and have been having issues getting the camera just right. I like having the camera on my head to free up hands.

I'm still absolutely floored at how fast the older models are. I've been beating the crap out of them for a year now, and I've broken *nothing*. Except tires, those are wearing out.
Surprised as I’ve broken lots on mine, 3 diffs, servo, multiple CV pins, body latch etc

Phil , if you didn’t know you can program the esc for 2s and run it on 3s and it’s seems to be more controllable, just works better for me. I wish the bigger brands would follow in there footsteps! Price & what you get in a RTR box😉💪🏽💯

I made a french review about this one, and i love it! Tough, awesome look, so much power and waow, what a pack for the price! Still have to try them paddle tires at the beach, but ill do that soon! By the way, at the skate park, a good 2s pack is just enough to keep it manageable.

Awesome video as always, I think I might need to sell off my wl toys 144001 and the couple other 14th and 16th scale rc and pick this up. I've watched a couple youtubers videos on it now,and it just looks amazing, tough,fast. It looks like it could possibly be the best small scale rc out there

Is that what this car is called? Got a link I want one. 1/14 rock they only have to do 30 to look fast so can be used out the front unlike 1/8s which need way more room.

I have two hyper- go vehicles now and I’m seriously considering getting rid of all my other rc’s and just having them! My little boy has hammered the sg1603? Mini and it just goes, even after I ran it over with my 30 degree north truck, although that killed the body !!! Great video again

@@TomleyRC the other thing is that you can chuck them in a bag and off you go! I find my fifth cars hardly ever go out because they need so much space and few people, it worries me that someone may step out in front of one . 25kgs and 50mph , doesn’t bare thinking about!

I absolutely agree that this thing is more powerful than the design can really handle. When you've got as much play as everything in this drivetrain has it becomes really hard to control and it becomes more of a chore than fun.
Yeah, luckily the beach saved the day for me 😎
They need to put the guts on an 8th scale chassis then I think it would run and handle a lot better.

i can only speak for myself, but i rather like knowing you mess up, that it's hard work doing youtubes, a lot of people think it's like a vacation, just fun all the time, never work, but i'd say it's mostly work, and a bit of fun mixed in having a youtube thing. i think you do a really good job, and i think its nice that your just a bloke who likes RC cars not an elitist, or brandist i personally feel less happy with the guys who never say anything negative ever , everything is amazing, everything is perfect, i cant trust those guys at all usually. (sorry i cant type, you can tell what country i'm from probably)
Yes, I try to be quite transparent with stuff. And I agree, there are certainly a few ‘save’ reviewers out there. All you have to do is look at who sends them stuff… and then look at who doesn’t get stuff from the same company 😇

I have a set of extra MJX 16208 tyres, will swop them onto this rig and see how it drives with them. Glad to know it uses a 3S L-ion pack, they are a lot easier to get in South Africa!
To answer your question, no. There is no such thing as too much. The sound of the sand paddles would not be the same without, "MORE POWER!" 😂

Great review and one more great mjx hyper go. I wonder why your 14209 is that bouncy. Mine is very planted, no difference to the 14210, 14301 and 14302.

I've accidentally gotten this brand on Amazon. It was a toy grade, but still impressed me with it's looks and durability. I might have to grab some of these bigger models.
Biggest they make is 1:14 unfortunately from MJX (HyperGo) I believe.

I got the 2’s model not from Amazon but from a hobby shop. I understand the esc is 3’s compatable. However clicking the on button 5 times does nothing at all. Curious?
Mine should arrive today. Incredible deal given the extra parts two batteries and paddle tires. I think I spent like $170 after taxes and it was 4 day shipping from Amazon

Love the video; I think this might be a good one for my son, as a starter truck, and I’m just wondering how slow you can get it to go on 2S 70%? He’s only 4, so I want something super manageable speed wise, that is still repairable (no toy grade)
I think this might be too powerful for a four year old but what you could do is trying to grab one of those DumboRC transmitter/receiver combos like the X6PM-350 + X6FG for 30 odd quid while they are on sale (11.11 or next week for black friday) just so you can have a very nice cheap radio with decent adjustable throttle trim that goes down to 0%.

I’ve extended the wheelie bar on mine and locked the diffs seems to keep the front end down a little better. Great little trucks these are for the money.
Also added 20mm wheel extenders for an additional 40mm track on the car. Seems to stabilise it a bit better
Pretty darn impressive for an "off brand" and people love the Lancia Delta.

So tempted to grab one of these. I'd put a slightly larger pinion and see if I could make it hit 55 - 60mph. A car of this size going that fast and with insane instant accelaration. Damn....... 🤙
You would lose a bit of acceleration to go faster. Seriously how often do you need to hit 50mph in a car this size? Speed runs get boring very quickly. I don't know why people are obsessed with it
It's not how fast it goes it's HOW QUICKLY IT GETS THERE.

I think hyper go is one of the best new rc companies out there they give so much for such cheap cost compared to other companies
I can't help but wonder if they'll be like WL toys and offer great value for the money, get everyone on board then up their prices? The 144001 Wltoys was a steal at $79 cdn then it caught on and now I can't find it anywhere under $149 Cdn.
Hopefully they’ll continue to be a decent price

i have one and its a pretty cool little rc, but like yours mine goes a little wild, i am thinking about locking the rear diff and putting very heavy diff lube in the front. it seems to ballon one tire in the air, meaning the diff allows one side to spin out freely, this throws the truck off track when it lands. hopefully that will cure the wild nature a bit.
Hi there I locked both the diffs in mine as the ballooning was horrendous and the car would ‘diff out’ constantly. I’ve blown through 3 diffs in these now and the most reliable way I’ve found is to lock them from new - I’ve also added 20mm wheel extenders for an additional 40mm track overall, handles much better (steering worse but can live with that) I blew a servo too almost instantly so I swapped it for another model. Sand paddles also a win as less tacky (less wheelies / flips etc)

haha... I make no apologies. High mode...70% Throttle seems to be the sweet spot. Unless you are on the beach... then it's FULL POWER!

This video reminds me of when I put a 4300kv in a Wltoys 1/14 and ran it on 3s. Managed 63mph(DumboRC for the range). It really was way too much speed. Difference is, the wltoys isn't nearly as robust.

I just ordered the Rlaarlo 14025. I wonder how it compares to the MJX 14210. For me here in Germany they are about the same price (~150€) since Rlaarlo currently has a 25% sale going (until 30th Nov). Just mentioning, I have no affiliation whatsoever.
Does anyone know where I can get replacement parts for this? I've broken a lower control arm an I've replaced it with the extras they sent, but I'm sure I'm going to break another.
You'll burn through em quick, but the sand tires on concrete are quite fun!

Hyper Go RCs seem well made overall, but personally I'd prefer a Rlaarlo AM-D12 over anything that they make. Great video as always Tomley!
I have both an Amd 12 and a 14210 on the way. But yeah I agree that this seems impossible to drive. 3S is pointless imo. I’m just gonna run it on 2S.

@@dieseldabz7104No. The Amd12 is more expensive. But it is a 1:12 and also has hex screws. I wouldn’t buy any of them for the original price though. I got the MJX cheap now on the AE sale, 100 dollars for the V2 version with extra 3S 3000mah battery. The Amd12 I also got on sale but it was still almost double the price.

I think the drive train has been improved quite a bit and so far it's pretty good and reliable after about 10 packs. However, the front lower arms and tie rod ends are a week point, they snapped quite easy, probably the reason why they supply in the box some spare front arm. It seems to be the plastic choice as once again if i compare it to HBX 16889 I NEVER broke one arm, but the drive train on that one is very week as off all HBX or FMS similar products. I'm referring to the bevel hear especially and also the diff internal parts which is some cast metal and its super soft and wear off prematurely.
I took the 14209 because I like it more designwise but put on the 14210 tires and now it's a mega fun basher!
The amount of full throttle landings this thing takes is amazing. No aarma is going to land full throttle 30 times and still be driving.
