Great build Evan, having a wider track chassis certainly made it handle better, and the use of the HBX plastics was a good choice since both models parts are compatible with another. Have a good weekend brother 👍

I used front/back lower/top arms from a haiboxing 903A scale monster truggy and had an extra pair of the mix extending cvd for both front and rear and had to do zero cutting. Everything lined up and was able to use some metal 80mm oil filled shocks from amazon that I had never used. I’m having zero heat issues and even running some 100mm buggy tires with metal wheels and 12mm metal hubs. My mjx 14210 is now 30mm wider and so much more fun to bash

Well I can confirm the parts from the 903a doesn’t fit on the 16410, I striped mine today and tried to fit the suspension arms, but there is some cutting and shaving required and unfortunately it seems I’m also missing some parts so this will have to wait 🤦🏻♂️
Dang! Ya I figured there may be cutting/shaving involved as I had to do it when I put the 903 parts on my 16889a. Very similar setup to the 1/16 hypergos. Still worth it though!
Another great video Brother. I absolutely love how you get the kids involved. They look like they’re having a great time. Looks like the Raffall is doing great. I bought some tickets for the hbx. I figured if I got lucky and win, it would be a great way to get other local kids into the hobby.
Single dad life or I would just buy another car for them. I could use that car for any of the kids to try out and have fun with you know. I know it’s a longshot but either way that’s what gave me the idea. How are you always have the kids and other people involved in the videos. Figured it would be pretty cool to have a car for other kids to fall in love with the best hobby in the world you know. Thanks for the great videos. I know it’s been a little while since I’ve commented life’s been pretty crazy but me and my little girl still watch all the videos.

I completely agree. That’s what’s best about this. Hobby is sharing it with other people. There is nothing better than seeing the smile on a kids face the first time they pick up a transmitter and go crazy with a car.
I owned a 14302 , they have basically the same chassis base and drivetrain, only difference are cvd leght and arms. I own now a hbx and, compared to it, the real difference is the less powerful motor and lighter chassis that helps the car survive far more. Also the plasic are super flexible, the schrews are better set and the car is overall easier to deassemble. The semplicity , less power and weight of the hbx helps a lot!

Very nicely done Evan! I really like what you did here. You definitely improved its stance an durability over the original starting point. Hbx plastics are hard to beat and they allow flex to happen. Man you have so many parts available to you. Got stock in these companies? I know, you gotta have them if your gonna beat them as hard as you do.😝 pretty darn awesome Frankenstein if I do say so myself. G th he two companies should exchange Ideas and build a Traxxas demolisher in true 1/10 scale and they could hire you to lead the front. Sounds like an idea to me!

This would be sweet on the 14301 too, but th shock towers are smaller so it may turn out differently. Just would need different shocks or the 14210 shock towers or some other modification. It can definitely be done!!

Nice one! You could use the wheelie bar from a 16207. These are longer and fir more or less directly to the original wheeliebar mounting point. Worked a treat for me!

Question ...im converting one these 16101's to brushless ,so new motor ,esc ,receiver...how can i bind the stock radio to the receiver ..the radio that came with truck doesnt have a bind button that i can find???thx ..love your videos
You can’t I don’t think. A new transmitter would come with a new receiver, or you need a transmitter designed to bind to the receiver you get.

Hey , I've got a question.. any recommendations for a servo upgrade for the 4s Mojave? ( Mines weak as , , already upgraded the springs... In the middle of repairing the body lol) aside from that, the thing just blasts, smooths out all the bumps.. 🤦 smh Now I gotta find BIGGER bumps lol.

I have yet to upgrade my Mojave servo, but guaranteed there are options. See if you can get measurements of the servo and search for a new one by a good brand that way.
It might be weak servo saver for 4s. Look vids about 4s servo saver upgrade. Also standard size servo from cheap ds servo 25-35kg to agf servos will fit easily

@@DerbyCityRC Hey, real stupid question. I went to open up my rear shocks on the 2997a today to put in heavier oil and was stumped by the mount not being attached to the cap. How do you get these things open without destroying them?
What I do is put needle nose pliers on the body of the shock (between the spring and below the threads) and hold that tight and unscrew the cap by hand 😃

I recently got into the RC hobby currently got a 16210.
I ordered an aluminum kit but that honestly made it kind of worse.
Generally looking to make it more stable and roll over less, and it seems like the stock shocks are really bad, any advice on that ?
P.s I kind of tried to sum up everything required considering what I already have and it almost seems like it would be easier to just get the hbx one instead, what you think?

I wasn’t a huge fan of the 16210. I liked it at first but like you said it gets really unstable. Same with the stock version of this 14210 on the video here. These upgrades made it so much better, but ya probably worth just buying the hbx. Also, you’re correct, that model only ships to the US at the moment. But here is a similar alternative, however it is only 2s capable. You can make it 3s capable by simply putting in a better ESC.

Do you have any recommendations for tires that aren’t as grippy as the stock ones? I don’t have the time to do that full upgrade right now. The car flips over A LOT on the grass…he’s patient with it and gotten better but I want to him to try something else on there.

I’d say going for the 2997a is better, but honestly still a good choice as the HyperGo has a lot going for it. I actually haven’t even added up what this conversion costs yet lol.
The 2997a is a 1/12 scale so it’s a decent bit bigger. Maybe get the 2997a and as time goes on and you order spares for it, you could use some extra spares and convert the HyperGo over time. But besides a couple common areas (chassis on hard hits and occasionally the servo saver arm), the 2997a doesn’t break much.
Nice video. Only thing missing in the parts list is the servo. Does it also fit in the Omni Terminator?

No the Omni has a bigger servo and is probably stronger. The Omni has one of the best RTR servos for its size!

You've probably noted it in the video, but are you using the hbx knuckles both front and rear? If so, have you a reliable link for those, too? Thanks
Yes I used front and rear and I do have that link in the description. It’s a set with all 4 knuckles. However! It does look like the hypergo knuckles would work. I haven’t tested it because the hbx ones are still stronger, but visually it looks like they would. Front and rear. Then you could use the stock tires if you wanted also.

Yes they should fit just fine (though I haven’t tried there’s no reason they shouldn’t). They are 12mm.
The only thing is there could be body rub when turning since the tires are bigger and those stock arms don’t stick out very far.

These cars haven’t much relation to the video except I’ve been analyzing these smaller scales waiting on the cf rlaarlo Omni terminator . I almost got this pup but already had a 16980sa from your reccomndation so got another . I like that the hyper go h14bm has a steel plate on the bottom of the chassis . In other vids I seen it s too fast for 3s on concrete and hard to control . I can control my 16980sa with 3s but I had to adjust the steering to snap back into center . One screw was a little too tight but it’s all good . I have to say HBX was sympathetic to me having t boned a stop sign and breaking the chassis allowing me to send it back to Amazon so I got another one for family members since the sale was around $115. Tried the paddle tires and they’re actually decent on all surfaces . I swear this thing goes around 50 mph or very close with a zeee 3s 2200 50 c( what does the 50c mean ? ) thanks . Having a lot of fun and appreciate the vids . I would seriously reccomend going to a church parking lot with a 3 s battery . I’m having a hard time watching speed runs down a street because it seems people don’t understand roads are pitched toward the curbs for water runoff . So , when a car is drifting towards a curb and operator tries to compensate and goes over the middle of the road the car will drift opposite of compensation toward the curb . Maybe some noob like myself will read this and not make the mistake I did and t bone a stop sign 😂. Big thanks to HBX for allowing a replacement , the wing . They said 3s batteries for 16980sa size will available near the end of April 👍. They ll probably send you a couple for sure . My last car was in 2000 or so , a traxxas t max that’s still in the attic . I m going to dig it out and see what she needs . These cars have come along way imho and I will absolutely be getting into an updated traxxas . I just don’t know which one yet but I won’t spend $1500 , maybe $5-$800 . I want to get one good one I know will be supported for upcoming years but these Chinese ones are a lot of fun right now . Sorry about the long comment . I also thought that one UK dude with the dark hair says rlaarlo the best , lol 😝 😂

Agreed, the stock radio and ESC really hold the car back. Swapping the radio out for something a bit more lively and the esc out for a hobby wing 60amp or similar really wakes these things up off the line and in general response!
Yup! It made a massive difference on the other project I showed. Would likely make a world of difference for this one too!

Still a different car. Thing is a lot of people already own the HyperGo. If you’re still shopping for which one to get, the 2997a is a better car imo, but this car sold like hotcakes so lots of people have them already.
@DerbiCityRC did you tried to use MJX telescopic driveshafts? I saw them on the background of scenes. Are they not long enough?
I did try. I was hoping, as that would allow the reuse of the diffs and axles, but ya they were too short.

The C rating shouldn’t affect much to my knowledge, just keep it reasonable.

Got the HBX 16889A Pro for my son ( so far I've used it more then him lol) and I ordered a Omni Terminator for myself, havnt gotten it yet but I've read some things, mostly good, few bad.

The terminator is great! Honestly just due to all the hype and the shipping complaints, people are just expressing more concerns than you would usually see on social media I think. There’s definitely been issues but seems most people are happy. I see issues all the time on the Arrma pages with brand new vehicles. It happens but hopefully won’t be many like that!

It’s specific to the H14BM and the bezgar HP141S. Only RC I know of that needs 3s mode turned on lol.
Should of been some type of thick foam in between the esc and chassis and as far as under the motor so impact wouldn’t do too much damage to both esc and motor
Yup I agree. I almost did it for this build too, but ultimately decided I still wanted to screw it to the chassis like it was originally. I should have foamed it anyway lol

I don’t remember it not turning sharp. A couple things to check would be that the dual rate knob is turned up (though I can’t remember, this model may not have that adjustment anyway), the servo saver screw could be loose or it could be binding. For some people yes, and for some no. I like all my high tier stuff, but don’t want to run them every single time I bash. Plus for me, improving things is not only part of the fun, but makes the car more fun to enjoy as well. Just all depends on what each individual person wants to do.

Yes it’s much more flexible and less likely to snap.
Hbx diff is identical to Mjx hyper go?
Yup in the earlier hypergos the diffs broke easily. Their upgraded diffs were just the HBX diffs with the hypergo outdrive cups.
I believe you can just buy the hbx 2995 outdrive cups if you don’t want to buy the whole diffs, however I haven’t tested it to be 100% sure.

The only problem I might have are the shock towers. Pretty sure the 14302’s are a lot smaller.

Not sure if you have the older 2021 version bezgar 1 with the 490 motor. The knuckles on this version are smaller and they swap right over. With the smaller knuckles you can fit the mjx wheels!

I do believe the fc610 shock towers will swap to the hyper go diff! I didn’t try though so can’t be certain.

The 301/302 is set up a little different than the 14209 which caused a few small problems but nothin major.
I was able to fit a HBX shock tower but only after some serious mods, and I didn’t really like the way it was fitting so stuck with the stock towers.
Only problem is the 301 front shock tower is tiny! I was still able to use it with some longer shocks the shocks have a serious slant but the susp still feels awesome.
I also had to swap the front and rear diffs. The outer diameter of the diff cups are identical to the HBX but for some reason the 301 diff cups have a smaller inner diam.
All i need to do now is fit the 1/10 steering arms and it’s done.
It does look a little awkward with the infraction style body and the extra wide stance but I like it 😂

I just tried something different I put H16BM arms on front on the H14BM and the suspension feels way better with the 1/16 scale arms on the H14BM

@@DerbyCityRC have ya H14BM ever stop doing wheelies, mines started making a funny noise and not poppin wheelies but when I open it up all gears seems perfectly fine , I switch motor to see if it was the motor but still doing it
That’s weird. I haven’t had that issue. Maybe hit the esc button 5 times to make sure it didn’t switch into 2s battery mode?

I gave up on mine a while back. Me personally...I wouldn't put all the time and effort into it. But no offense...please, this is my own opinion 👍 i had just given up on it cause i got into the bigger league Rc cars now...lol! Arrma outcast 4s and the Arrma Notorious 6s. All my time and efforts are into these trucks now. Very impressive video though for sure! 😎👍

I used the tires from the 1/12 HBX 903 and it won't roll over anymore on concrete.
Those tires aren’t too bad. They’re really light weight though. Are you able to do some sweet air maneuvering? They do definitely slide pretty nice!

@DerbyCityRC Have you have any thermal throttling issues with your Team Associated Reflex 14MT? I run mine for about 8-10 minutes and it starts running at half throttle or less. Not a battery issue neither.

14th scale Hypergo servos are trash out of the box. They kept sending us warranty ones before I threw in a JX just like you did.
Yup I think all of mine have poo’d the sleeping sac.

Cool video, it I highly suggest anyone considering this just save their money and buy a granite. Skip the hypergo and the mods and just buy a granite.
Can’t argue that. The Granite is a beast, but I do like running these smaller cars too.
