      Can you try reviewing these:

      They're dirt cheap and would be interested to see how they compare to more expensive brands like Edifier.

    Thanks. Came here about to purchase the Klipsch, bought the Jamos instead and saved $250 USD. They sounded essentially the same to me and both have the same feature set, even the same remote. (Edit: And I already have a subwoofer.) Love this review format!

    I have it, but without integrated amplifier, S801, and it has a good treble quality, a lot of mid for me, and 0 bass. I tried to equalize but the driver tends to go crazy doing some bass distortion. When i cover the bass reflex, the mids stabilizes and bass become much more clear, but anyway, has poor bass for me. Its a mess because i really like the appearance, they're beautiful.

    At first this comparison seems even but then with critical listening I can tell the Klipsch have warmer more open vocals. I would definitely get the Klipsch over the jamo. The jamo are bright and thin sounding, with a ring in the upper treble.
    I'm listening over elac ub5 connected to Yamaha rxa880 which I would recommend over either of these.

    I bought S801PM and I must say, that recordings at this channel are very good to compare the speakers. On good headphones (ATH-MSR7) I can recognize the same sound characteristics, which annoyed me in real-life listening of these speakers. I was so disappointed, that I had to return them. Their sound is not natural. Midrange is scooped, highs are overly exposed and bass (unpleasant bass, like 100Hz or so) overly boomy. Klipsch sounds better to me on this video, the midrange is more natural, but I`m not sure if natural enough. Finally, I bought JBL 305P studio monitors and I`m impressed of their sound. They are not as functional as Jamo (no remote control etc.), they produce some audible hiss sound, but the sound quality is really impressive.

    Ok, so I'm listening to this on my Jamo S 801 speakers (not the PMs, just the regular ones that came with my Jamo home theater set). I've got them temporarily hooked into my laptop via a Kinter K2020A+ mini amp. (yeah, old and cheap I know, but it sounds good) I'm probably biased (given what I'm listening on) but both recordings from the Klipsch and the Jamo sound very similar. The "source" sound is spectacular on my Jamos... way better than either recording. The response wave at the end of the clip is very similar. Also, as another reviewer pointed out, you are comparing a 5.25" speaker to a 4". I'd think if I spent the money for the Klipsch, I'd be a little disappointed that it didn't sound significantly better than the Jamo. Conversely, I'm very happy to be getting 5.25 sound out of my 4" Jamos!
    I've only had this Jamo system for about 5 months... I set out to buy the Klipsch because I listened to them at the "big buy" store. After some research into Jamo I decided to save some money and purchase the Jamo S 803 HCS. Huge, clear sound and they are beautiful!
    Love these videos, keep them coming!

    • @foodog777
      @foodog777 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the tip on the Kinter. I just bought 2 Klipsch R620Fs towers on sale then I bought the Jamo HCS set as well. I have a Yamaha 5.1 Dolby receiver. Depending on how much I like the Klipsch towers vs. the Jamo 803s I may keep or return the Klipschs. If I decide to keep the Klipschs I’ll use the 803s or 801s as computer music studio recording speakers with a small receiver like the Kinter. These are my first new speakers since the 90s so it’s pretty exciting to have so many speaker options for about $700 total.

    looking on the graphs I see that you most likely have room resonance around 90Hz. If you observe same 90Hz peak on all tested speakers please try to use calibrated base traps or EQ out this 90Hz peak - or at least inform users that the peak is of room origin, not the speakers itself. Thanks!

      @Andrik Christmas completely agree with you that is why klipsch has a slight edge over Jamo however that really does not justify the premium you have to pay also klipsch is designed for larger studio type room while jamo is designed for living room setup where you can relax with family on a couch and watch a movie 😂

    hmm... rp sounds clearer crisp and has better low sound response feels like it would depend on what you want. Sounds like the speakers were built with music in mind
    Jamo seems to Be built around the home theater experience in mind with a bit of the surround sound system in place however you can feel it impact the low's the highs are good also
    Overall jamo seems to be a less expensive option over RP Series although it has a crisp sound and punchy low the real question is "is it worth paying a huge premium for a slight edge over jamo" in my country klipsch costs almost two times that of jamo.
    Let me make it easy to understand by quantifying with numbers
    jamo s803 - 27k

    • @philipcooper8297
      @philipcooper8297 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jamo 76Hz - 26kHz vs Klipsch 68Hz (49Hz @ 35% Volume) - 21kHz
      TL; DR: Klipsch woofers go lower than the Jamo's. However, both have RCA line level out for a sub-woofer. If you combine both of these active speakers with the same sub-woofer, the Jamo speakers will play wider range (up to 26kHz). That being said, anything above 20kHz is inaudible for most of the people. You would really have to have the speakers up close to your ears to notice the difference.

    • @philipcooper8297
      @philipcooper8297 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Lars Andersen It's all about the frequency response and volume. How loud the speaker sounds at given frequency. Every speaker has it's peak and then roll off. The roll off happens before the maximum frequency is reached, so it does make sense to have a 20+kHz speaker, that will sound perfect at the audible 15-17kHz.
      The music you listen to may as well be 15kHz (probably is) and you would hear it perfectly with a 20+kHz speaker, however if you used a 15kHz speaker, a lot of information would get lost.
