The actors in this series are as good or better than any actors I’ve seen in my life. They make the people they represent flesh and blood, and infuse them with all of the nuances of personality that make the story they tell relatable to me. The Chosen has filled a hole in my soul.

Its the place wer the Indian tsunami hit the coast. Thrs also a church in a place named after him cald St Thomas Mount a hilltop church in the tropical city wer he was said to be hiding in a cave its stil thr I’ve been to the place nd to his burial place they’ve built a church over it. Google it u can find the details.

Though other denominations like Marthoma/ Malankara/ Orthodox etc all fall under the umbrella of Syrian Christians or St. Thomas Christians 😊

It reminded me of something I’ve read once, I think in Phillip Yancey’s “Reaching for an Invisible God” where he talks of how we, as humans, like to feel needed by someone, and how God, when He came, made others feel needed and depended on others’ help (as a babe). Very touching,
This line made me cry, that God would become a vulnerable baby, to go through what we go through, to suffer for us... so beautiful. This scene goes deep into what the Jewish mind would have been thinking. I love it and can’t wait! Thank you for the hard work and dedication

Wiping away tears. Who ARE these people?! Actors, I know. But seriously... how do they do it? I don't know them, their life story, or if they even believe. All I know is ....they ARE chosen.
I talk to Jesus about everything in my heart. He is everything and everyone to me -first & foremost he is my Savior, my Redeemer, my Shepherd....and I could add 50 more words saying who he is to me. He is surely my best friend. I talk to him often, and I've told him how much I desire the Rapture to happen quickly. First I want to see and visit him & Father.....but how much I would love to talk with his mother, Mary, and Mary Magdalene. I would love to talk with Nicodemus, Simon, Andrew, Matthew, Moses, I'd be too intimidated to talk to Isaiah-but would LOVE listening to him talk, Job....there are just so many. I have never been so excited about anything in my life as the Rapture! I look forward to making so may wonderful friends when I get to heaven!

So my mother walked me around to his window outside and I could see him laying in the hospital bed. He was weak but he looked at me through the window and I waved at him and he waved back at me and smiled and that was the last time I saw him. So I'm kind of excited to see him too. And when I was 15 my good friend was killed in a car accident and she was 16. That was in 1986. I take flowers to her grave when her family doesn't. I'm not saying that they never do. but many times through all these years I have made beautiful arrangements and taken to her grave. I'm excited about seeing her too.
Love Andrew, love the whole cast, but he has a humilty and sweetness and quiet, amd maturity that is so moving in scenes, even though he doesnt have any or many lines. A good contrast to Simon. His reactions say so much. Beautiful job, Noah!

The beautiful aspect of The Chosen is you get a glimpse of the background of the characters (plausible at least). More questioning, more pondering - not black and white, but they are learning as they go, they don't have it all together and that frees us to not have it all together but to trust in God who is perfect and sovereign!
As a young man seeking Jesus in such a time as this .. I felt like I myself was voicing my opinions out loud . This didn’t even feel like I was watching a show but more of sitting with them. As a follower of Jesus now , I definitely understand what Andrew was saying about wanting to just do more for Christ but knowing that’s not who you are. Luckily , the Holy Spirit will still work through me even with all my weaknesses . Praise the Lord for such a good show !!!
This is so interesting to watch these professionals portray their characters in this manner. It's amazing how they can get into those roles in such a sterile environment. They are exceptional at their art and craft.
I’m still only halfway through the video and I have tears streaming down my face. The Holy Spirit is here... in these words... inspiring the performances... this story is, I truly believe, one that God wants the world to know intimately... the story of the perfectly-imperfect, humble birth and life story of our Savior... our Jesus.
This was all so beautifully written and spoken, I almost forgot I was just watching actors at home over Zoom. Also -Noah delivering Andrew's little speech about feeling guilt and trying to be great but knowing he's not... wow. I didn't expect to get teary from it, but it hit me hard. So good...! I can't wait for season 2!!!
The way they just broke into character just like that!! They don't have the costumes/makeup or the set or any bgm and they still managed to get me emotional. Have a safe shooting guys. You're in our prayers.
Even the writers will tell you that's not true, because if it was, that would mean it the show is infallible like scripture. I hear your heart, and I believe it's a great show that has some incredibly beautiful moments that capture God's heart very well, but I would be careful not to make it an idol.

i love it that you gave the story a perspective from Mother Mary, something that has been seriously lacking in Jesus stories. we rarely get to see the importance of a mother figure in the life of Jesus and what it must have been like for Mother Mary. also, i thought it would just be a read-through. didn't expect everyone to get so into character. such good actors.
I agree. There's been Catholic movies about Mary but she's always amplified beyond her role. It's either she's focused on too much or movies shy away from talking about her. This scene perfectly humanizes her.
@@lilyawood I loved it but I also think that she would have known how to trust in God's Will and would have surrendered to it when she replied to Angel Gabriel. I cannot help but believe she had a mystical experience at the same time she felt "shocked" by the newness of it all! This aspect of her role was lacking even though is a precious experience to watch a bit of what it must have meant to her. Thanks for doing this remarkable series The Chosen!
Monica, I agree. I understand that the Chosen is all about the humanity of the characters and especially Jesus but I think the birth of Jesus would have been a mystical experience for Mary and Joseph and that Mary had deeper wisdom and serenity which I would love to see portrayed. The love of mother and Son was beautifully shown in series 1. The cast are superb even in rehearsal. Looking forward to the new series.
Each actor is the perfect character for their part. Who ever did the casting did an excellent job and of course the writing and directing are great. This is the best show I have seen in a very long time and just waiting for season 3, 4, etc.

To see the actual scene in the show...very impactful, especially when the conversation got "angry"...and then there was Jesus, exhausted. One of my all time favorite episodes.
Thank you, everyone who participated in the scene read; I really enjoyed it!! The humorous lines landed well (& were clever) but what really touched me was hearing the characters share their hearts and some of their backstories with each other (& us). Mother Mary's was so realistic. I felt the sorrow and insecurities of Mary of Magdala as she told hers. And not only does Simon keep getting great character-expressing lines, but Shahar also plays them so well. Thanks again, everyone. 😊
I can't really improve on the comments. Even a read through on Zoom, I was totally engrossed in the dialogue. The actors are just incredible. I mean its just incredible. I just said "incredible" again. Big lump in my throat when Vanessa was speaking as mother Mary.
What each of you does to bring the characters we have read of for years ..... eACH of you ...really stellar work individually and collectively! Over the years the attempts to bring the His story of the world to light thru the scriptures...have mostly fallen short .... This tho! I had a pastor that could 'take you there' aiding in a deeper revelatory walk thru the scriptures.... This series...'takes us there'! Thank you dallas for following the unctioning of His Spirit .... This was really enjoyable to watch when it was first posted, but even more so now, as, after watching S2 e3, I now have a context for this discussion. This scene in e3 was my favorite. Thanks to all the actors who did this script read some eight months ago, and for all your hard work in preparing for all your scenes. Season 2 has been so worth the wait!

Thank you all for sharing yourself with us. I just light up like you are my real family. Actually I love my family and I have always been the black sheep and very lost growing up, so I light up like never before when I watch you all. I feel like a child watching home videos. I bought the Chosen DVD and I watched all the stories with my mom last night. My mother is 83 years of age and will not remember the scenes the next day so we can watch every night and it will be like the first time for her each time. This may baffle some, but I watched Hamilton for the first time yesterday (super exciting, wonderful music etc and I did get caught up the energy of it) Genuinely though, I enjoyed this short table read more. I think because it’s such a gentle opportunity to creatively meditate on the reality of Yeshua.
Don't feel bad, i havent seen Hamilton either. I'd like to, but I have never had the opportunity. Much more moved by The Chosen, it's cast etc. I hvnt even missed all the tv shows i use to keep up with, since the virus. Don't miss sports either. I've loved spending more time focusing on God's kingdom & what He's up to, sharing Jesus with others, and praying for others.

As a young man seeking Jesus in such a time as this .. I felt like I myself was voicing my opinions out loud . This didn’t even feel like I was watching a show but more of sitting with them. As a follower of Jesus now , I definitely understand what Andrew was saying about wanting to just do more for Christ but knowing that’s not who you are. Luckily , the Holy Spirit will still work through me even with all my weaknesses . Praise the Lord for such a good show !!!
Yes, indeed, Jesus has given us the Holy Spirit and gifts and authority to be used in ways that will surprise even ourselves!

Acting is difficult when you have long lines to memorise but to deliver it naturally like just speaking it with emotions.
These actors are fantastic. How they jump into character and pull you into the scene. Can't wait to see how season 2!!! Thank you ALL.
This is so interesting to watch these professionals portray their characters in this manner. It's amazing how they can get into those roles in such a sterile environment. They are exceptional at their art and craft.
I’m still only halfway through the video and I have tears streaming down my face. The Holy Spirit is here... in these words... inspiring the performances... this story is, I truly believe, one that God wants the world to know intimately... the story of the perfectly-imperfect, humble birth and life story of our Savior... our Jesus.

This was all so beautifully written and spoken, I almost forgot I was just watching actors at home over Zoom. Also -Noah delivering Andrew's little speech about feeling guilt and trying to be great but knowing he's not... wow. I didn't expect to get teary from it, but it hit me hard. So good...! I can't wait for season 2!!!

The way they just broke into character just like that!! They don't have the costumes/makeup or the set or any bgm and they still managed to get me emotional. Have a safe shooting guys. You're in our prayers.
Definitely every line was inspired and written by God, every team member was chosen and appointed by God! So touched!

Even the writers will tell you that's not true, because if it was, that would mean it the show is infallible like scripture.
I hear your heart, and I believe it's a great show that has some incredibly beautiful moments that capture God's heart very well, but I would be careful not to make it an idol.

This read through was absolutely on another level with everyone just getting into character and pulling us in.
You could sense the emotions in this as they were reading their parts and at times there were tears 😭
I agree with you Jane. I was keeping an eye on the actors as Mary Mother was recounting the story of giving birth. I think John had a few tears.

i love it that you gave the story a perspective from Mother Mary, something that has been seriously lacking in Jesus stories. we rarely get to see the importance of a mother figure in the life of Jesus and what it must have been like for Mother Mary.
also, i thought it would just be a read-through. didn't expect everyone to get so into character. such good actors.

I agree. There's been Catholic movies about Mary but she's always amplified beyond her role. It's either she's focused on too much or movies shy away from talking about her. This scene perfectly humanizes her.
@@lilyawood I loved it but I also think that she would have known how to trust in God's Will and would have surrendered to it when she replied to Angel Gabriel. I cannot help but believe she had a mystical experience at the same time she felt "shocked" by the newness of it all! This aspect of her role was lacking even though is a precious experience to watch a bit of what it must have meant to her. Thanks for doing this remarkable series The Chosen!
Monica, I agree. I understand that the Chosen is all about the humanity of the characters and especially Jesus but I think the birth of Jesus would have been a mystical experience for Mary and Joseph and that Mary had deeper wisdom and serenity which I would love to see portrayed. The love of mother and Son was beautifully shown in series 1. The cast are superb even in rehearsal. Looking forward to the new series.
Each actor is the perfect character for their part. Who ever did the casting did an excellent job and of course the writing and directing are great. This is the best show I have seen in a very long time and just waiting for season 3, 4, etc.

To see the actual scene in the show...very impactful, especially when the conversation got "angry"...and then there was Jesus, exhausted. One of my all time favorite episodes.
Thank you, everyone who participated in the scene read; I really enjoyed it!! The humorous lines landed well (& were clever) but what really touched me was hearing the characters share their hearts and some of their backstories with each other (& us). Mother Mary's was so realistic. I felt the sorrow and insecurities of Mary of Magdala as she told hers. And not only does Simon keep getting great character-expressing lines, but Shahar also plays them so well. Thanks again, everyone. 😊

I can't really improve on the comments. Even a read through on Zoom, I was totally engrossed in the dialogue. The actors are just incredible. I mean its just incredible. I just said "incredible" again. Big lump in my throat when Vanessa was speaking as mother Mary.
What each of you does to bring the characters we have read of for years ..... eACH of you ...really stellar work individually and collectively!
Over the years the attempts to bring the His story of the world to light thru the scriptures...have mostly fallen short .... This tho!
I had a pastor that could 'take you there' aiding in a deeper revelatory walk thru the scriptures.... This series...'takes us there'!

Actually I love my family and I have always been the black sheep and very lost growing up, so I light up like never before when I watch you all. I feel like a child watching home videos. I bought the Chosen DVD and I watched all the stories with my mom last night. My mother is 83 years of age and will not remember the scenes the next day so we can watch every night and it will be like the first time for her each time. This may baffle some, but I watched Hamilton for the first time yesterday (super exciting, wonderful music etc and I did get caught up the energy of it) Genuinely though, I enjoyed this short table read more. I think because it’s such a gentle opportunity to creatively meditate on the reality of Yeshua.
Don't feel bad, i havent seen Hamilton either. I'd like to, but I have never had the opportunity. Much more moved by The Chosen, it's cast etc. I hvnt even missed all the tv shows i use to keep up with, since the virus. Don't miss sports either. I've loved spending more time focusing on God's kingdom & what He's up to, sharing Jesus with others, and praying for others.
