he opened for primus 15 some odd years ago on T-giving or like the day after in Wichita KS... show opened w/ the grungey techno music no band, he struts on stage w/ the white bucket and this orange KKK robe on, doing his robot gig for about 5 minutes. I was thinking to myself, why the hell did I waste my time... then he roboted over to his guitar and began to play. holy shit, one of the most memorable concerts I have ever witnessed. then he came back on stage w/ Les and the gang, best guitar and the best bass players in the world.
+Chopper Reed at least 5 times, one time i gotta toy, a My Lil Pony.. lol also gave him Beef liver., jus thru it on stage.. he also round house kicked my Michael Meyers mask i gave him, and to top it all off, at BBkings in NYC, i got to use the killswitch when he held it out to the audience.. :) memories
+Steve Hoffmann a year late, but if you haven't already. Check out the album "From the Coop" It has all the tracks that he is talking about in this podcast!
For me, I think Buckethead or Brian is just a normal guy who is probably easy to get along with and who likes to joke around and have fun. Either way he is awesome!
josh freese is an awesome guy...playing w a perfect circle, nine inch nails, and devo just to mention a few and a grounded human being...and btw buckethead is awesome too in everyway...peace
He seems like a chill guy, that just wants to escape the publicity and interviews, he doesn't want all that, so maybe that's why he wears the bucket and the mask.
Josh's DAD is the reason I met BB KING AND BO DIDDLEY AT THE SAME TIME. Disneyland, 1986, I was 6 years old, and my late brother David tuned to me, IN DIXELAND SQUARE, and said; HEY, come meet these guys". The program for that show goes from $350 on EBAY. Thanks to Josh's Dad. Love the VANDALS FOREVER, saw them at the Ice House when they recorded SWEATING TO THE OLDIES.
that's so cool... he got him to talk with the shit on.. I love how he made his own version of the Disney theme songs for when he rides them at disney land
The Space Mountain in the California Disney has a theme song. And Buckethead should TOTALLY fucking play it because its one of the sickest ride soundtrack songs I have ever heard!
I was laughing for a very long time when I heard that he makes his own Theme Track for the park. I am pretty sure that Josh is referring to the "From the Coop" album.
its one of the funniest things ive heard in a while, I was just picturing buckethead on those rides listening to his own recording of the song, fuck its hilarious.
Anybody who has spent years in the bedroom practicing can appreciate and see right where he comes from with respect, i wish I could go to Disneyland and jam the rides.
Those stories were great! Buckethead is seriously the nicest and most innocent person ever aha! Like a child. But, a guitar GOD! If I ever go to Disney I want to hear his soundtracks!
That's what makes him such a special artist, it's because he doesn't have the same aspirations as other musicians. Long live Buckethead, I hope the dude gets to play Disney.
buckethead needs his own disney special 7:30 pm saturday nights on TV with opening fireworks disneyland castle and disney opening theme song...He Deserves It
he was supposed to do an entire disney album some years back, but it got put on the back burner for some reason. maybe Copyright? KFC threatened to sue him so he only wears a plain white bucket now. so maybe it was a similar case w/ the disney album
There's a video on TH-cam of buckethead in a band in a cheesy bar. Except he's a young kid before buckethead. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of video but it's on here, I've seen it. You can tell instantly it's his playing .
eqsmooth Yeah, I heard Paul was Buckethead's brother also. I don't see it. They don't look anything like each other. Bucketdome on the other hand, has a lot of the same features as Buckethead. The same complexion, the same hair, and the same shape of head. And it's also believed that Bucketdome is also super tall.
eqsmooth You are right about Buckethead's lanky avatar looking body. His creepy extraterrestrial fingers look like they're straight out of the movie ET. BUT HIS FACE That expressionless pale face and his Frankenstein size forehead, resembles Bucketdome. I could be wrong. :-(

I'm more interested in hearing about the Frank & Dweezil Zappa connection than buckethead, especially because John was around the Utility Muffin Research Kitchen studios in cranks basement while monster musicians like Mike Keneely ,Steve Via, Warren Cucurillo were around .
I hope Buckethead one day gets his gig in Disneyland.
Bushrod Rust Johnson someone like this so i can have the 69th like
Only if Disney can buy his likeness probably lol But B wont sell out!!
I'm dying Buckethead is too adorable for this world. He has surpassed humanity in so many ways.
Agreed. He's a sweet hearted man.
Axl was incredibly lucky to get Buckethead on Chinese Democracy. His contributions on that album are outstanding.
If I were a billionaire, I would definitely build a Buckethead theme park in his honor.
Hell yeah!
sir, you deserve my respect.
Bucketheadland...it's one of his albums
DaxAndy
2 of them actually
Sl1pDisc Yea
I don't know why but Bootsie and Buckethead being buddies is making me happy. Such a perfect team
"I'm like MAN! DUDE! BUCKETHEAD! MAN! LIKE WHOA!! INTENSE!! DUDE! I LOVE BUCKETHEAD!! HE'S A FREAK!! DUDE!! MAN!! SHIT MAN!! I GO... FUCK YEAH DUDE!! SHIT MAN! THAT'S COOL!! MAN!!"
-Josh Freese
Amazing. I was thinking this the ENTIRE time! Hahaha
xD
Your comment made my day
buckethead is just great .a pure artist
The space mountain part was so funny
Buckethead would rule at Disney
That was before Disney turned into globalist scum, and replaced their fine workers with gimmegrants.
4thandinches And this, ladies and gents, is a person who hates his own country. Thank you, haha NOT.
He has his own bucketheadland
he opened for primus 15 some odd years ago on T-giving or like the day after in Wichita KS... show opened w/ the grungey techno music no band, he struts on stage w/ the white bucket and this orange KKK robe on, doing his robot gig for about 5 minutes. +Chopper Reed aww man seeing him live is an experience huh..
:) memories
His live show is like an out of body experience
"Bootsy and Buckethead made records...about 300 people love them" Ha. And we've all left comments on this video.
I NEED to hear those Disney soundtracks by buckethead.
+Steve Hoffmann a year late, but if you haven't already. Check out the album "From the Coop" It has all the tracks that he is talking about in this podcast!
Steve Hoffmann I
For me, I think Buckethead or Brian is just a normal guy who is probably easy to get along with and who likes to joke around and have fun.

josh freese is an awesome guy...playing w a perfect circle, nine inch nails, and devo just to mention a few and a grounded human being...and btw buckethead is awesome too in everyway...peace
Offspring too! and Black light Burns with wes borland to name more.
Um...
The vandals.
Does Freese have his own podcast yet? I need to listen to this guy talk about everyone and anyone in music for hours
He seems like a chill guy, that just wants to escape the publicity and interviews, he doesn't want all that, so maybe that's why he wears the bucket and the mask.
I just discovered buckethead 24 hours ago and I’m obsessed with him
This is me one year later 😅
Favorite drummer, favorite guitarist.
This was such a great interview. Thank you for posting.
For me, Buckethead is the most underrated superstar of the last 30 years
Its sad how Axl wasted all this talent. They could have done a ton of great albums together
Josh is a true delight to listen to. Dude should start a radio/podcast program. OR does that already exist?
Josh's DAD is the reason I met BB KING AND BO DIDDLEY AT THE SAME TIME. Disneyland, 1986, I was 6 years old, and my late brother David tuned to me, IN DIXELAND SQUARE, and said; HEY, come meet these guys". The program for that show goes from $350 on EBAY. Thanks to Josh's Dad. Love the VANDALS FOREVER, saw them at the Ice House when they recorded SWEATING TO THE OLDIES.
A dream job for Buckethead would be doing the robot at Disneyland in his own character. Come on Disney! He already is a character. Let him play!
I remember having the Guitar Player magazine with brian may on the cover. i think it was 81 or 82. It has buckethead in it as a hometown hero..
The "Buckethead" persona didn't start until around 1988. His Guitar Player interview was in a 1996 issue.
I've been listening to Bucket for like 4 days now, and I live him too, Josh. I love him too.
That is a fun interveiw! Brings back memorys. Bucket and i where buds in those days. Josh's imitation is spot on. Thanks for posting!
That was a wonderful excerpt of an interview. Thank you.
i'll be waiting at space mountain
that's so cool... he got him to talk with the shit on.. I love how he made his own version of the Disney theme songs for when he rides them at disney land
You just told a story about how he doesn't want you to say his name as you say his name 3 times. Great job
Satanic Canuck how do you think it spread around
gcwproskillz His name is very commonly known now. It's not really a secret anymore. Even his face isn't a secret anymore.
The Space Mountain in the California Disney has a theme song. And Buckethead should TOTALLY fucking play it because its one of the sickest ride soundtrack songs I have ever heard!
+tankmaster1018 Listen to the Buckethead track - "Space Mountain" and ride space mountain :>
+Giant Robot I thought that was hilarious, Listening to his own versions of the theme park songs while riding the rides, Bucketheads awesome.
Came for the Buckethead stories, stayed for Josh Freese's awesome storytelling and personality. I could listen to Josh all day!
thanks so much for uploading!
Ha When Buckethead goes To Disney he Listens To His Own Version Of The Music!!!!!! Thats Gangsta!!!
Bucket seems to never age....:)
. . .but his hands have no flesh!
Maybe that's due to the bucket on his head.
Buckethead is the best guitar player that ever live. my stepson put me on too buckethead and i love his skills, i would love to meet him someday
777Lateralus its tool, not too.
JensVe lol
I agree tony I just hate he hurt his back and he dosent play anymore.
Willam Daniel He plays plenty still. He's released 35 albums so far this year, and we're just in the middle of May.
omg I would kill for this full interview
LOL I love this interview; Bucket - a man of many mysteries. Thanks for posting.
This is such an awesome interview
Omg, that was great! I was cracking up on those Disney stories!
Disney should let him play on his birthday. I think that would make him the happiest man in the world, despite all the dead chickens.
i am 7 minutes in and this/these stories are just getting more and more random/bizarre/relentlessly fascinating.
this is really funny, thanks for the share! Josh seems like a really funny guy!
Anybody who has spent years in the bedroom practicing can appreciate and see right where he comes from with respect, i wish I could go to Disneyland and jam the rides.
that last section about space mountain is just pure gold
Those stories were great! Buckethead is seriously the nicest and most innocent person ever aha! Like a child. But, a guitar GOD! If I ever go to Disney I want to hear his soundtracks!
thank you for this
He is one of the unsung heroes!
For like 2 years Id fall asleep every single night to BucketHead's "Colma" record. Lol
Bootsy and Bucket... We're waiting MTV

That's what makes him such a special artist, it's because he doesn't have the same aspirations as other musicians.
Long live Buckethead, I hope the dude gets to play Disney.
For Halloween in Disney land, Buckethead should wear the Michael Myers mask for his gig

Buckethead should release his Disney song interpretations... I'd check em out!
he was supposed to do an entire disney album some years back, but it got put on the back burner for some reason. maybe Copyright? KFC threatened to sue him so he only wears a plain white bucket now. so maybe it was a similar case w/ the disney album
@@SilverHairCare Josh's dad is a Music director for Disney.

I just got a ride cymbal that is signed by Josh. Love it, sounds awesome. Funny stories about Buckethead. DC
Pray for buckethead. Hope he lives to be 150 and completely happy...
Bootsy Collins: Original Bass player for James Brown & later on Parliament/Funkadelic, but don't say Bootsy....say Bootsy Bootsy.
Bootsayyy
I love this
that bootsy collins impression was scarily accurate
I spent a week at Disney Land. It was during Winter, the place was magical.
Cool little tidbits, thanks.
This is great! AHAHAHA!!! good times :)
Thrilling chilling sounds and the haunted mansion I do like also
Where can I find the rest of this interview?? I MUST hear it!!
3:35 second hand accounts of Buckethead are always hillarious!
There's a video on TH-cam of buckethead in a band in a cheesy bar. Except he's a young kid before buckethead. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of video but it's on here, I've seen it. You can tell instantly it's his playing .
It’s just me soloing, it’s just me goin’ off. Lol😂
there's a rumor that he has a twin brother called bucketdome.
Ryan Smith
That's because they were separated at birth. You can google Bucketdome and Buckethead, it should pop up.
eqsmooth Yeah, I heard Paul was Buckethead's brother also. I don't see it. They don't look anything like each other.
Bucketdome on the other hand, has a lot of the same features as Buckethead. The same complexion, the same hair, and the same shape of head. And it's also believed that Bucketdome is also super tall.
***** So sorry. I heard that disease was 99.9% fatal
( amongst terminally ill people 70 years old and older)
I'll pray for you, my son.
:-(
eqsmooth You are right about Buckethead's lanky avatar looking body. His creepy extraterrestrial fingers look like they're straight
out of the movie ET.
BUT HIS FACE
That expressionless pale face and his Frankenstein size forehead, resembles Bucketdome. I could be wrong. :-(
eqsmooth maybe. Google 'bucketdome and buckethead' you'll see him.
Love these bucket stories. So funny
You gotta give it to the guy, he's got tenacity keeping this relatively unappreciated character going for THIS long.
Brilliant :D
Bucket, I'm so nervous. Josh, aw don't be, Axel and the guys are cool. Bucket, no not that, about meeting your father. too funny.
This is class A-shiiieeet - Fantastic!!

Spongebob square ass?
noodle knight ass box one )))
Bucketass? I thought i knew you
I remember when I went to Disneyland and they told me to turn my Buckethead shirt inside out.
Wait, why?
That's crazy, especially considering Disney is actually a wolf in sheep's clothing and one of the more evil companies in existence
+Paradox Box it wasn't appropriate attire is what I was told. Very weird.
I was at Disney last year. Wore a Ghost shirt and a few other horror shirts. Nobody said anything to me
I'm more interested in hearing about the Frank & Dweezil Zappa connection than buckethead, especially because John was around the Utility Muffin Research Kitchen studios in cranks basement while monster musicians like Mike Keneely ,Steve Via, Warren Cucurillo were around .
Buckethead will walk the halls of Disney for centuries....
What is all the disney comments in buckethead vids what's it all about?
