Book Tyrion is far crueler and morally compromised, more like Tywin than he'd admit. They wanted to keep him as a good character yadda yadda yada, so then he could give Dany such sage council as "Let's trust Cersei or persuade her to relinquish the throne." Dany: Have we not been watching the same show for the last 10 years?
@@chaos_knight_xyYou know the reason why they asked you that right? Its because if we are all being honest with ourselves, book Tyrion became a lame character after Storm compared to how he was before.
I remember watching this episode when I was having a miserable time in college. It provided a sense of escapism that I’m grateful for. I can’t believe this was ten years ago!
@@OurHiltsHurt Well you just have to sit back and admire the absolute GENIUS of our favorite Retarg Dany! Some day you little guys will realize D&D actually came up with the PERFECT third act of the show. GRRM was actually quoted saying essentially that he’s pissed they came up with this ending before him.
Dany being a dog mom had me cracking up. With her XL Bullys in harnesses and on flexi leashes. Telling people, "they are normally nice," as the biggest one slips free and takes off running down the street. Ps: Dany has been pretty fucking stupid since season 2. In the books shes young and everything and makes mistakes but shes got her smarty pants moments. Its like the show writers treated Danys character like a buffet that they could just take samples of. The result is she comes off dumb and inconsistent.
Even though I'm still upset that my boi Tywin biting the big bazooka, I will say that at least he died before D and D could ruin his character so ................silver lining I guess.
@OurHiltsHurt After seeing your video, I agree. I know this is unrelated but you fine gentlemen mentioned people "canceling" Tywin for what he said about Shea, but when I here the word "cancel" I think of "woke" people. And I'll be honest, how I feel about "woke" people is exactly how Robert Baratheon feels about "Targaryens". I know people won't ask but if they did ask me "Damn Genji, do you hate "woke" people THAT MUCH, I'll respond with "YES, maybe even more".
Jon is very experienced with poison. The only meals he got at Winterfell were those Cat made him taste for poison before they reached her precious boys' dinner plates.
The reason that it it the last great episode is that they omitted the Tysha story. Without that, the characters of Jamie and Tyrion became directionless with no conflict.
I think Brienne beating the Hound is a little ridiculous but the other perplexing thing with it is how'd she get there that fast? This is when the show stopped having plausible travel times between locations and then characters basically became Darkseid with Boom Tubes.
Season 5 was good enough. i can't hate it like 6 to 8 but rewatching it. It's where the cracks start We can blame the writers, of course, but tbh george also has responsibility. The plot stopped being good because they didn't have good source material.
Season 6 was still really good, especially considering that it was the first season that went fully beyond the books. That Season 6 finale was the most entertaining episode of television I ever watched

Never understood why tywin would let tyrion be charged and stand trial for jeofferys murder..i understand he doesnt like tyrion but to know he didnt do it and let the real murderers gets away makes the lannisters look weak and gives other houses the balls to try to strike at them because the real assassions went unchallenged
That episode was the last great one that followed the books, my opinion is the last great show episode before it went goofy was the episode that Cersei blows up the sept. Had that familiar on screen shock value that we loved and it wasn’t too far fetched from her character arc.
This episode actually has a ton of issues and was the beginning of the end in many ways. In particular, the destruction of Tyrion's story and character began here with the omission of the Tysha reveal from the book and the complete change of the tone and substance of Tyrion and Jaime's farewell. A good episode on its own but an extremely flawed adaptation of the material it covered, and without a doubt a warning sign of issues ahead.
