I really like the car pack from SWARM and feels refreshing to use a different car pack than gravy garage and WDT. I mainly use Death Wish and NStyle car packs and will add SWARM in my top 3 best car packs. But the car visuals needs to be improved. I hope they change that in the V3
It's funny, there have been a couple other comments about the visuals that I haven't really noticed until I read those comments. I think this is a super valid take. Also I do like the DWG pack as well, but as I mentioned with the stability issues with high driver counts it quickly stopped being an option. I know they are lurkin on these comments so I'm sure they will take that feedback to heart 🙂
Having grip is really important to me. I've driven way too many cars/packs what have hilariously low rear grip. I drift an E30 irl and with 205-15s on there, it DOES NOT just blow it's tires off from a roll in 3rd unlike every car pack out there, even those with E30s making less power than mine.
Yeah that's a very valid point. Do you think SWARM hits that mark? I find with most of my gear ratio/tweaks I'm not able to easily clutch dump into a 3rd wheel burnout
@@DarkTinman is there an active community that drives these cars? Because its really hard to find a server with dwg cars and if thats the case for swarm cars too then im gonna have to skip them
i dont know if you remember me, but i remember you on redrock driving around on wheel and i asked you why you didnt play assetto instead of carx on wheel and you told me you didnt have the best experience assetto on wheel, and i suggested a couple of car packs to try. i think it was like a week later i found your stream again and followed you, playing assetto and trying the car packs and enjoying it. im glad you listened to the 2 or 3 of us pushing you to switch. keep up the grind brother - Vibezz
Bro, so sorry on the late response here. I can not thank you enough along with others for pushing me toward AC and really trying to give it a real shot again. It's so crazy looking at CarX streams now, I really get where people were coming from saying that it's pretty arcady. Seriously thank you for the suggestions and pushing me toward AC, I could not be happier with the switch!
@@DarkTinman yeah bro it's another level that you dont understand until the point you do. Assetto is a mysterious mistress. Watching all the boys play it in vc makes me want to get another wheel but life and commitments 🤷♀️ we'll be back one day, I can't stay away forever 🤣
I dont want to be that person, but how do you only have 700 subs? your videos are so well edited and a lot of effort goes into them. I gotta say keep up the good work! I drift with the vdc pack and feel like they have a bit to much power for me, using the swarm pack feels amazing, thank you so much!
Hey man, absolutely appreciate your comment here. Hopefully I can start being a bit more consistent with the uploads. Hopefully we can catch you in the lobby sometime and get some doors!
Yeah same! What's crazy with the foxbody is it has a rear solid axle so you can really tell the difference between other cars. I like the C5 too though, very planted car with a lot of torque.
Thank you! Let me know what you think! Really curious to hear from people who've never driven them before. I think it will be a bit challenging at first but it seems like around the 1-2 hour mark those who have felt resistant to this pack have come around on it.
thanks for this video. i feel the exact same way as you say. most cars mis the raw feeling and realism. i also use the wdt street pack. but this was an eye opener for me! love the s14 and finally a is200 that is actually driveble. as i own this car in real life. i swear i can see how they tuned it. it feels kinda like the real car. theres some things wrong with the cars for sure. but this is bye far the best pack or loose cars i have tried so far. in a half year of hardcore sim 'playing' i would pay real money to make the is200 sportcross mod drive the same as the is200 in this pak. for the creators of these cars a s i see they read along. please fix the hydro. its way way to agresive. whipes the car out as soon as you touch it. helps with reversed entry but tires loose all grip when locked.other than that. love the cars! you did a killer job🤟 i see the extreme front grip, but it helps a lot with the 'feeling' you have with a real car. compared to at the pc behind sim. setup.
thank you for your feedback glad your enjoying them, may i ask what handbrake you have? im happy to adjust the handbrakes but we are aiming for a balance between setups. cheers
Hey appreciate the time you took to watch it! The S14 seems to start getting a bit of traction it always deserved but I believe initially most people were indifferent on it. Your comment about the IS200 is awesome (I thought it was a IS300 lol). I have been really curious from people who have driven these specific cars IRL since SWARM's focus has been to emulate their IRL cars into AC. You gotta join in our lobby sometime! Also shoutout to the feedback on the cars, I know the SWARM guys are super keen on getting some on this pack to continue to improve it!
Yeah that's a great car! I really enjoy how each car is unique myself. I always tell people to try out each car to really see which one clicks with them the best!
I tried the V1 pack and was mostly/fairly disappointed. The V8 holden is stupid easy (idiot proof), yet "Dan's" S14 is quirky and inconsistent at high angle/rate to angle. Transitions are a roll of the dice. I honestly have a love/hate relation with that thing (mostly hate). You have motivated me to try V2. Thanks for the solid video. Please make more. *subscribed and a thumbs up!
Honestly, not terrible feedback about the V1. I felt somewhat similar with a few of the comments you made especially with the Dan's S14. That said, I love to hear what you think about the V2. Appreciate the kind words and taking time to check out the video! Join us on track sometime!
Hey man, really appreciate this comment. I have been pretty heavy into Assetto Corsa on stream but I've been thinking of ways to get some content on TH-cam. Don't want to make any promises but really going to be trying to start posting videos here just thinking of some unique ideas that will be entertaining around our drift sessions
@@DarkTinman maybe get sm1 to just make clips of some moments in the stream if you got extra money but if you don’t and have extra time instead just do it yourself. I used to be rly big into yt analytics and rn the meta is shorts that lead people to actual vids. Just wanted to give you that advice and wish you luck on your journey man. Peace
when did people didn't value realism? it is general knowledge that assetto is one of, if not the most realistic drifting sims on the market, there are a lot of packs and cars that are truly realistic, and just now you say "people are starting to value realism"? seriously?
Wanted to give a bit of thought to this comment before I added anything. I wonder if the increase of popularity from games like CarX have increased the want for more arcade style cars and decreased the patience of new drivers to overcome hurdles and not be immediately good at drifting. I think the majority of people in AC are looking for that realism but also at the same time, realism seems extremely subjective. Not only that but with a lot of transplants from those arcade style games, maybe that has created some demand for the easier cars that sorta drive themselves? Hard to speak for that demographic which I'm not a part of as I always was pushing for as much realism as possible even within those arcade style games.
Hey man! Always feel free to join in with us. We are all trying to improve and get better, I think if you compare this video/driving to one of the new weekend recap videos, you can already see some big improvements from everyone including me!
I love the gravy garage pack and servers always people driving and mostly already tuned up. Also like the VDC cars but not very busy lobbies. I wish more people played assetto to drift
Yeah seems like Gravy and WDTS are basically the majority of active servers on there. I have seen some VDC servers but like you pointed out, pretty tame lobbies. You should come hangout on our sever during the weekend (Friday/Saturday). More often than not we are 20+ cars deep!
@@DarkTinmanim down! Is it the server you have linked in the description? I mostly use ACS discord for my lobbies. I’ll have to give swarm a shot I would for sure drive the c5
the cars to me look and feel rushed i think they need to take the time and make a v3 pack. panel gaps allow you to see through the car, when shifting some of the drivers fingers will move as if they were paddle shifters. the cars feel ok but for me i just play ac for the visuals ill play LFS for the physics
lfs physics are very good I agree, I have not spent much time on there, only small amounts of time over the last 8 years to reference what physic's are supposed to feel like. the build quality issues you mentioned are being worked on for v3. cheers for your feedback SWARM || Mitty27
@@timjimmink8563 man, bro, honestly, this pack has literally everything that i hate except the physics. i like them, the cars feel more realistic than what i am used to, and the car selection is nice but holy shit yall need to chill on the flair. the flames are nohesi levels of cringe, the SOUND EFFECTS ARE THE WORST IN THIS GAME, without exaggeration. the e36 has a turbo pressure whatever sututu thing where it sounds like it's 10 concert speakers blasting inside and around the car. it's a DEAFENING noise. i legit had to go on sfx and remove the turbo sound effect from it the flames are too much, the turbo sounds are too much (not just too loud, but they come from inside my head and all around instead of from the car, specially compared to the rest of the engine noises), and this may be just me but id love a more professional or simplified preview image. your cars are the next best thing in drift pack but they look and sound like any low effort shitty nohesi garbage clone mod. please bring them down to more realistic levels, thank you EDIT: got to the end of the video and he mentioned the AC Reverb thing. im gonna turn those off and try the car
Appreciate you man! Hopefully those weekend recaps are enjoyable to watch too! Enjoyed creating the first one and finishing up the second one this week!
I spent some time last week driving this car pack of your recommendations. I changed my wheel settings and I ended on penk settings from team excite I seemed to have to most luck with those settings. I felt like the cars were really good at low angle but as soon as I get to 80% of the steering lock the cars would just keep over rotating with 0 hope of bringing it back. I played with set up in game and spent an hour to only manage to drift one corner, I feel like transitions were impossible to make.
I tried swarm a while back but I felt they drove to easy, not saying a drift car should be hard, but it felt TO easy in for example Death Wish. Not saying it is bad or good, but as I don't really have friends that I drive with I tend to stick to Death Wish as I am a s chassis Nerd xD
Fair! If it was a while back it might have been the V1, I'd revisit them now and see how it feels to you though! There was an overhaul on the physics within V2 which I felt really added a bit more of a challenge to the cars. DWG is great though too! That pack is easily in my top 3
This pack has probably some of the least realistic tires (Especially when considering them as axle pairs) put into any AC mod. Maybe the DRM mod is a bit worse in some ways, but this is a good contender. It's possible simcades like GT and FM might have a more realistic tire modeling. Where do I even start? You can pick anything you want, really. More-than-F1 tire grip for the front with the rear somehow having a whopping roughly 20% less grip. Near-vertical linear region of longitudinal slip for the rear tires particularly, due to the very high CX_MULT and comparatively lower (but still insanely high) rear saturation peak. LEVELs and SPEEDs all messed up. I do believe hot tires are more lenient to slip past the saturation peak so it makes sense to make them high for the rear, but having LEVEL that low in the front will result in an extremely dramatic loss of grip when locking brakes. I know this was done to make backies possible, but it's not the way. Zero lateral load sensitivity, with the front actually having reverse load sensitivity in longitudinal. Rear relax length about three magnitudes higher than expected. Even taking into account AC's slightly funny slip-based RL formula, even with a force based implementation it's not gonna be that high at any point. Astronomical ROLLING_RESISTANCE_SLIP which will just bog the cars down. Bonus points for the GT car CoG height. I guess all of these have chopped bodies. At least the yaw inertia is only 20%~ larger than realistic, as opposed to the 100%+ which is typical.
Do they handle like Gravy Garage/BDC cars? I break down AC's lower power car packs into two groups: the ones that handle fairly well, like WDTS, that have subtlety and require control to transition quickly...and then the BDC/Gravy Garage cars, which have ridiculous grip and transition ridiculously quickly without much effort. I suppose the cars with arch(?) physics are another group, but there aren't as many of those kinds of car packs, so basically if you drift mostly online(which is what I do these days) it's just a straight up choice between WDTS on the one hand and Gravy Garage/BDC on the other. The latter feel dramatically less realistic. They're what people call 'cheat cars'. Then in the competition drift car packs there's a similar distinction between the realistic, challenging car packs, like VDC, and the cheat cars, like the WDT pro cars(a bit strange that WDT's high horsepower cars are so much less realistic than their low horsepower street cars) or early ACDFR pro cars. I don't think there are that many different physics models working in the background among all the AC drift car packs, even though there are hundreds of different packs - mostly it seems to be either gravy garage physics or WDTS physics for low power cars and VDC/DCGP/WDT physics for high power cars. So most car packs are basically identical to the other car packs except for the car models and liveries. You can spend thirty seconds with one of the cars and you know straight away that it's just WDTS, or Gravy Garage, but with some different cars.
@@ArchOfficial There's a grey area as to what counts as realistic in a sim, because you can't just translate the precise physics of the real cars into a sim and expect them to handle pleasurably or intuitively. Given the lack of G-forces and the inability to feel the road and the vibrations through the seat of the car, there's a certain amount of compromise on the physics of any sim drift car that needs to be built into it. Otherwise it just feels stilted and, paradoxically, unrealistic. The v.2 Arch cars were a big improvement over the v.1s for exactly that reason. The original Arch cars didn't seem to make any concessions to the fact that a sim is not reality, and so you can't just input the stats of a car and expect it to behave in a sim as it does in real life.
for my taste Death WIsh Garage have the best feel, not over powered, not to slow, nissan 350Z rule....but the only part i missing in AC is mechanical damage, you can pedal to the metal, holding the max rpm in 2nd gear, holding how log you want, nothing happens...and carx ah, the mayonese drift...i wont say its bad, totaly arcade yes, but if i would learn to drift in carx, i would quit in 1st few runs...than jumped in ac, it didnt be easy but much more 'natural'....
I've seen some people state similar statements, those packs specifically are very unique compared to others too. Just curious, what do you feel is off with the physics?
Agreed, you can't just drive the car and the rear wants to overtake it. People just jump on a new pack claim it as best and reality it's still not reflective of reality.
Just got a t300 today. I've never actively tried to drift irl but power skids around corners and stuff is no dramas. I can't even hold a full corner consistently. This is going to be tough
I've tried the WDTS, gravy garage and some other one, didn't really like the WDTS on the Logitech G920, found the Gravy Garage ones pretty good on the G920 but they felt very pendulum like, whipping from left to right somewhat uncontrollably, will have to check the SWARM ones out and revisit AC.
Interesting, I've heard that Gravy Garage needs significant tuning. I found myself I was lowering the roll bar to not be as stiff as well as some other aspects of the cars to drift a bit smoother too. Would be curious what your opinion of the SWARM pack is in comparison!
@@DarkTinman Yeah I'm not sure if its just a thing with the G920 wheel, it is only entry level and not really on par with a belt drive or direct drive so hard for to me to know. The G920 feels awesome in Forza for drifting, but seems like its a painful challenge to get sorted for AC.
@@Xyrez Felt all good on the logitech G920, probably feels different on better tier wheels, I think the G920 just isn't for Sim stuff, feels better on Forza Horizon 5 then anything else like AC/BeamNg etc.
Some cars you might want to try out I wouldn't say that are the best but still definitely hold up on their own I think they're still one of the more realistic drift cars it's from 1:1 Simulation Squad there's three free cars from them they got some more paid ones but unfortunately they haven't been active since 2021 but they are worth a try and I would definitely say that they are hidden gem
the lighting on the these cars are way to aggressive and the models are poorly optimized and look and feel like sliding cardboard around the track. Their data is mostly just pick and put from other cars. half of the suspension data in the cars is not accurate at all. Tires kinda grippy but, do Not act like a real tire. That being said.. its pretty much the same as every other "low power car pack" but, thats not really to bad of a thing though. Its a different pack variety and style, the cars are easy to drive, they are showing that they are wanting to solve and fix problem with the pack. Honestly, with a little more time and research this pack could be a good just above a beginner to drifting pack or if you want to chat drive and chill kinda thing. sadly, not it yet. I admire your intentions to this pack really and I would hope that they continue to grow with updates to the cars and stay active. looking forward to seeing whats next. keep up the good work with your content. good video 👍
Which drift pack would you recommend using for online drifting with similar power? I've been enjoying the classic WDTS pack for quite some time but I can't seem to find any server with highly skilled drivers other than the Fullsend server in Brooklin Park; I always like to drift with those guys but after thousands of laps and tandems in the same map it kinda gets boring, but maybe it's just me not finding any other good server (if you know of any good server with WDTS cars please let me know).
@mr_mic2685 Japanese servers generally have wdts cars and there is always some great drivers on there. Had plenty of hours of 10+ car trains on Happogohara server. Worst case if no one is on jump in to a server and practice some of the maps and usually someone will jump in.
@mr_mic2685 there is a search bar underneath the online tab, just look for the magnifying glass. Type in jpn and all the Japanese public drift servers should show up.
yo whats up tinman. i just found your chaneel and i loved the way you voiced your opinion on the car pack and your drifting content is dope to. you got a new sub. i recently got a new wheel (moza r12) im just waiting kn my pedals to get here. i upgraded from a t300, its been months since i last drifted and i cant wait to drift you guys. looking forward to the tandies and trains again.
Hey man thank you so much! Congrats on the R12! I think you came in stream this weekend but your upgrade path is the same as me (T300 to R12). Once you get your R12 let me know if you want any of my settings, I'm still tweaking them but there is not much good "default" setups out there
I've tried them and still cannot understand if they are realistic or not. My personal leader is DWG 3.0. In addition to Swarm, I downloaded N-Style, but also, cannot understand if they are realistic or not :). Probably, the lack of IRL experience makes me sceptical. Overall, it seems ok. I like the variety of the cars. Cefiro is one love: it is so ugly, as it should be, but it is Silvia in regards to suspension, kind of a sleeper.
Haha great comment, I'm in a similar boat if I'm being honest. Feedback from IRL drivers seem to indicate that it's pretty realistic but since I haven't been on an IRL track in a few years I don't feel like I'm qualified to say one way or the other. Totally understand the love for DWG, honestly I enjoyed that pack as well it really just lost that top spot for me because of the optimization issues I pointed out when we are ~30 cars deep. Agreed about the cefiro, I think it's a bit slept on too!
@@DarkTinman At the same time, I have driven Swarm during the last few days non-stop (not all the cars: Cefiro, Stagea) and I like it. They are quite snappy and grippy, but manageable. Probably, the steering angle is too big, but let's imagine, we got Wisefab. And the good part is that after these cars I can easily switch to DWG, WDTS or VDC, meaning they don't produce bad habits.
Haha I don't know if I have seen that bro, but I do appreciate you sliding in the server! If there is anything I can do to help out let me know! If you haven't already, I'd recommend trying out the 8 different uniques we run on the server and see what feels best for you. I also have found myself running the IS300 with the MTR's instead of the default MTT's which help the car feel a bit more grippy but I think majority of drivers have gravitated toward the TBZ S13
Idk man, Swarm is one of the easiest packs I've ever driven, if not the easiest. As easy as Gravy and about as rice, just much more smooth on FFB. Works well for chill 24h sessions ;D
Ah nice! DWG is in my top 3. I haven't driven the V2 excite, I did feel like I had to relearn when I tried V4 though and felt awkward (skill issue). I have heard of lenny although not a ton, I feel like currently I haven't heard many people drive that either. I'll have to try those out sometime!
I've ran on your server before! I do like the constant rotation. Although..my first time running SWARM on a random track didn't work out so well! haha! When is the server more populated?
Hey thanks for joining in man! Yeah new map with a new car pack is pretty tough. I think the most populated times right now are primarily when I stream which is Friday's 5PM - 12AM AZT/PST and Saturday 12PM - 12AM AZT/PST. Hopefully as more people join, there will be a more stable population outside of me streaming. I've seen a lot more activity recently but nothing compared to our ~30 driver sessions on the weekend!
that is a question for you to answer. swarm have 10 irl drifters and they swear by there in game cars feeling similar/close to there irl cars. the question is "subjective" and is based on what car and setup you drive with irl, your perspective, your sim setup, and your wheel base and settings in game? what's real for one is not real for another and with only 2.5 out of 5 sense's to use on sim its very difficult to actually get the result of "real".
Couldn't agree more with this. Since I haven't been on the IRL track in years, I feel like I'm not the most qualified to say. However, I can tell you from talking to some of my friends who drive IRL, they have told me that it's one of the more realistic car packs out there. As another comment pointed out, feels like this question is pretty subjective. I guess you'll have to try them out and tell us what you think!
As Tim said, there are far too many variables and it is very subjective. I like the way the swarm cars drive but the only thing I don't really like about them is they all seem like they are on some early 00's rock hard coilovers. Other than that they drive well. As an individual car I really like the Akuma Workshop r32 sedan, that car ticks all the boxes for me. Earlier Akuma cars are great fun also bit the 32 on kendas drives the best in my opinion.
Hey man, I use NeckFX. Here is a link to my NeckFX settings if you want to use them for yourself as well. acstuff.ru/s/BlpzWe If you have any issues feel free to hit me up through discord!
I'm not into sim drifting so I'm completely clueless, but why do car packs exist? Why not tune the standard cars? Is it better to learn in one of the standard cars or a pack car?
Hey man, great question actually. I think within the community there are some purists that swear by the created E30 drift car that was defaulted within AC. However, I think in general at least for drifting, the different car packs give you a pretty wide variety of cars that are setup specifically for drifting instead of more grip racing. To be honest with you, I haven't really ever spent time trying to drift the default cars which now that I think about would be interesting to feel the difference. I'd assume that the power difference between stock and defaults is another reason. Plus if I was new, packs like SWARM really don't require you to tune them so they are easy to just get in and drive. Personally though, if given the option to drift a stock car without any suspension mods more catered to drifting, or a drift car that's catered around drifting, the drift car overall would be better for learning and overall. Thinking about this, maybe this could be a cool video idea to compare the default ones!
@@DarkTinman I pretty much exclusively do racing on the sim but decided to give drifting a go and defaulted to the e30 drift as well. I was a bit hesitant to download a car mod because I was uncertain how realistic they would be. Sticking with vanilla seemed like a safer bet for me. Seeing these cars just basically float effortlessly through the corners is impressive but weird at the same time. I get that you're all tons better than me at drifting, so I'd be very curious to see your thoughts on some of the vanilla drift cars.
@@abexuro the stock assetto drift cars are strange in the steering and the tyres do not do a very good job at replicating the feeling of a car in drift.
If I try to drive through a corner the rear just starts to overtake straight away even at sensible speeds. Other factors of these physics it just feels like another inaccurate take. There will be another car pack in 2 months people will rave about again.
With the swarm pack, do I need the e-brake? With WDTS, i either use the regular brakes or clutch kick. And Gravy, I gotta use e-brake for slow sections. My E- brake is right paddle on the steering lol.
Honestly I would say it's not needed but having an ebrake as a "tool" when drifting is always helpful. For me personally, I think it comes down to the track that I'm on but certainly you can get by pretty well with just clutch kicking and left foot brake exclusively for most tracks!
I bought a wheel cause I used to love drifting with controller but damn that thing is difficult, seeing all these cool videos with people doing tandems makes me sad
It's crazy man, I feel this comment especially when I started myself. I think with drifting it's really hard because you are sorta fighting a wall until something just magically "clicks" and then all of the sudden things start falling into place. What I can say though is that for IRL and even sim, I am big believer in getting the setup/settings dialed. A lot of people will say "just get seat time" which is somewhat true, but also I think that if your setup isn't proper, a lot of that seat time goes to waste. If you have any wheel questions feel free to drop in the discord and ask, myself or others are here to help you get things dialed. I think once you are confident there, the rest will slowly start to fall in place like I mentioned! Don't give up if you enjoy it though and remember that AC really is a driving simulator. It's going to be harder initially than other more arcade oriented games out there!
Honestly pretty similar if I'm being honest. I'd say a bit more power and a little bit more upgraded suspension/drift steering setup than DWG but it's absolutely worth trying it out. You'll probably be the most surprised about how much grip these cars have in comparison to all the other packs including DWG that SWARM V2 has!
Man, it's so funny that you asked this question because I didn't understand why people were asking me until recently. In game I believe my FOV is set around 80 degrees, however since I drive on an ultrawide monitor and Twitch doesn't allow ultrawide resolution output I have to resize it within a 1080x1920 resize. This ends up making the FOV look much wider than it actually is lol
@@geoffandtarano, he doesn't he uses neck fx which automatically turns your camera when drifting. There's a ton of videos on TH-cam on how to set it up

i love swarm but its impossible to find populated eu servers. wdts would probably be my favorite if they had more grip but they are just too ice drift for my liking.
Yeah it's a bit hard on the EU side, but that said, we have a lot of people from different countries in EU or further who seem to have a decent ping and not too bad of connection. You should try jumping in sometime and see how it works with your setup!

@@SWARM-Mitty27 Most. As I mentioned, they feel like everything else that’s based around WDTS, which isn’t that great. The Enjoy pack is alright though.
Fair enough! What things do you think could be improved or changed? I know the SWARM guys are pretty receptive but I am also curious to hear all perspectives!
thsi is a nohesi fucking disgusting childish car pack with amazing physics i swear the car preview images, the flames. the car ENGINE SOUNDS, the tyre screech and the turbos are THE worst ive ever heard in this game. i had to edit the e36 turbo sututu sound out because it was literally broken garbage other than that, pretty fun pack
Definitely not the best car pack. Gravy, BDC & SWARM all fall into the same categories, they aren’t realistic, and they are all from the same base physics. They are fun to drive don’t get me wrong, but they are nowhere near the “best”… another thing about these packs, their models are incredibly lazy. They claim to be “modders” but don’t actually improve the models. And for me, the physics could be as amazing as anything. But if the models are sub par it puts me straight off. Un-Optimisation is the killer on Assetto. Too many “modders” are trying to become known. But they all end up being known for the wrong reasons. Taking other peoples work and claiming it as their own/giving no credits. And it’s actually toxic. Just because you change a few lines of text. And swap some wheels. Doesn’t mean you can now remove original credits and claim the car as your own.
Thanks for your feedback. We are working on optimization for the models, as you know this is not a fast process. We have given credits to all previous creators that we could find. If you take a look at the suspension geometry, you will find a lot has changed with the front ends, The rear end is kunos r34gtr modified and is still being worked on. The Swarm pack is a balance between real feeling based of each swarm drivers perspective, the main points of irl data that actually make a difference to physics have been added, the Tyres are completely changed from kunos v10, and although the numbers say its broken, they certainly work well and are also still being worked on. Cheers SWARM || Mitty27.
Yeah I have! I don't hate them, I just feel like I don't really have to try to hard to drift them. Sorta like passively drifting them, similar to how I feel about WDTS being a bit too passive.
Haha for the record! I have a Ultrawide monitor and have to compress the ratio into a 1080 for stream which after a few comments I've realized visually it distorts the FOV to look insane. I promise it doesn't look like that on my side!
Hum, curious what you are comparing them to? If you line them up with WDTS I feel like they have more power, DWG is probably the same or slightly more, and then VDC yeah probably super underpowered in comparison. That said though, I feel like this is the best representation of what cars you'd see that are consistently at track days
Appreciate the kind words brother, been a special project with the boys
Of course! Thank you so much for all the hard work and blessing us with this pack!
just tried the pack out because of this video and so far I'm enjoying it... good job to the swarm guys
Thank you for showing me this pack. I had no idea it existed since it wasnt featured in some videos i watched before. Great video as well.
Of course man! Seems like it's a bit underrated but hopefully helping with some adoption. Come through and slide with us sometime!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
we are working most of your con list as we have found most of the same things.
much apricated man
of course! Thank you for all the work you guys have put into the pack itself!
Much love from the swarm boys
Appreciate you guys!
Thanks for the review bro keen to see come content on here!
Yes sir! Been thinking of some content ideas to post more on TH-cam so hopefully I can follow through!
Loving the SWARM cars too!!
I am not the greatest at drifting and using a logitech deffinelty doesn't help, its pretty funny when i have to throw the wheel around at full force
I Like how every car feels different in the pack. like the c5 feels completely different to the foxbody.
Yeah same! What's crazy with the foxbody is it has a rear solid axle so you can really tell the difference between other cars. I like the C5 too though, very planted car with a lot of torque.
Great vid, look forward to checking out these cars when i get home. See you around!
Thank you! Let me know what you think! Really curious to hear from people who've never driven them before. I think it will be a bit challenging at first but it seems like around the 1-2 hour mark those who have felt resistant to this pack have come around on it.
@@DarkTinman I like the pack, definitely a bit of an adjustment but really fun cars to drive
thanks for this video. i feel the exact same way as you say. most cars mis the raw feeling and realism. i also use the wdt street pack. but this was an eye opener for me! love the s14 and finally a is200 that is actually driveble. as i own this car in real life. i swear i can see how they tuned it. it feels kinda like the real car. theres some things wrong with the cars for sure. but this is bye far the best pack or loose cars i have tried so far. in a half year of hardcore sim 'playing'
i would pay real money to make the is200 sportcross mod drive the same as the is200 in this pak.
for the creators of these cars a s i see they read along. please fix the hydro. its way way to agresive. whipes the car out as soon as you touch it. helps with reversed entry but tires loose all grip when locked.other than that. love the cars! you did a killer job🤟 i see the extreme front grip, but it helps a lot with the 'feeling' you have with a real car. compared to at the pc behind sim. setup.
thank you for your feedback glad your enjoying them, may i ask what handbrake you have? im happy to adjust the handbrakes but we are aiming for a balance between setups.
I've driven the r31 a lot recently, feels very nice!
Join us on track sometime!
yo its j, nice to see u postin again finally
Peace
100% on point. I am glad to see people finally starting to value realism.
when did people didn't value realism? it is general knowledge that assetto is one of, if not the most realistic drifting sims on the market, there are a lot of packs and cars that are truly realistic, and just now you say "people are starting to value realism"?
Man I wish I could slide as smooth as you guys!!
I'm still learning but I'll get there one day!
Yes sir that's the one! Weekends on Friday/Saturday is when I think most people get on so come through!
the cars to me look and feel rushed i think they need to take the time and make a v3 pack. panel gaps allow you to see through the car, when shifting some of the drivers fingers will move as if they were paddle shifters. the cars feel ok but for me i just play ac for the visuals ill play LFS for the physics
lfs physics are very good I agree, I have not spent much time on there, only small amounts of time over the last 8 years to reference what physic's are supposed to feel like.
the build quality issues you mentioned are being worked on for v3. cheers for your feedback

@@timjimmink8563 man, bro, honestly, this pack has literally everything that i hate except the physics. i like them, the cars feel more realistic than what i am used to, and the car selection is nice
but holy shit yall need to chill on the flair. the flames are nohesi levels of cringe, the SOUND EFFECTS ARE THE WORST IN THIS GAME, without exaggeration. the e36 has a turbo pressure whatever sututu thing where it sounds like it's 10 concert speakers blasting inside and around the car. it's a DEAFENING noise. i legit had to go on sfx and remove the turbo sound effect from it
the flames are too much, the turbo sounds are too much (not just too loud, but they come from inside my head and all around instead of from the car, specially compared to the rest of the engine noises), and this may be just me but id love a more professional or simplified preview image.
your cars are the next best thing in drift pack but they look and sound like any low effort shitty nohesi garbage clone mod. please bring them down to more realistic levels, thank you
EDIT: got to the end of the video and he mentioned the AC Reverb thing. im gonna turn those off and try the car
Loving your content, so enjoyable to watch.
Appreciate you man! Hopefully those weekend recaps are enjoyable to watch too! Enjoyed creating the first one and finishing up the second one this week!
Still rockin wit WDTS 💪
Check out Zero Culture drift pack. Very underrated. Though low HP, still fun
@@SWARM-Mitty27 the stock tune on these cars are a bit undrivable. A few tuning will really help
@@aphae I did spend a little time trying a few changes to set up, as there are more packs coming out using extended physics I'll give this another try
@@DarkTinman Yeah will definetly try them out again, been seing a decent amount of positive feedback about them
This pack has probably some of the least realistic tires (Especially when considering them as axle pairs) put into any AC mod.
I was wondering when you would show up to the party 😂
SWARM || Mitty27
@@thesprawl2361 They're just not using realistic parameters. It's not worth talking about how they drive.
@@thesprawl2361 Uh-huh.
for my taste Death WIsh Garage have the best feel, not over powered, not to slow, nissan 350Z rule....but the only part i missing in AC is mechanical damage, you can pedal to the metal, holding the max rpm in 2nd gear, holding how log you want, nothing happens...and carx ah, the mayonese drift...i wont say its bad, totaly arcade yes, but if i would learn to drift in carx, i would quit in 1st few runs...than jumped in ac, it didnt be easy but much more 'natural'....
i'm IRL drifter and i didn't like this mod, i prefer "enjoy" mod, "Excite v2" the tire models is closer to irl, Swarn physic behavior is weird for me.
I've seen some people state similar statements, those packs specifically are very unique compared to others too. Just curious, what do you feel is off with the physics?
Agreed, you can't just drive the car and the rear wants to overtake it. People just jump on a new pack claim it as best and reality it's still not reflective of reality.
excite v2? arent those cars absolutely trash? i remember deleting most of them a while ago, was i tripping?
Just got a t300 today. I've never actively tried to drift irl but power skids around corners and stuff is no dramas. I can't even hold a full corner consistently. This is going to be tough
Congrats on the T300! That was my first wheel too!
Hope to see you more in the servers and can't wait to see you improve!
The G920 feels awesome in Forza for drifting, but seems like its a painful challenge to get sorted for AC.
garage gravy pack feels awful what lmao. its like car x almost

@@Synthetic-Chicken i use g920 aswell, just the whole car feels really bad, i think wdst or dwg cars just feel loads better
@@RLN13S Very cool, I always wanted to learn to tandem in Happogaharada, but tbh I really don't know how to search for those servers in CM ahaha

GOOD VIDEO MAN! keep it up dammit lol
Haha thank you man! I am going to try I promise!
I have to change everything tune wise. As I’m sure you’ve seen, I’m struggling in the server sometimes lol
Surprised to hear this! What is your primary you typically drive and what do you think in your mind hits the best balance between fun/challenging?
@@DarkTinman Usually DWG for middle ground, Excite v2 and latest Lennys 180SX from the Girellu repo for skilling up.
Is it realistic? That's the biggest question.
that is a question for you to answer.
swarm have 10 irl drifters and they swear by there in game cars feeling similar/close to there irl cars.
the question is "subjective" and is based on what car and setup you drive with irl, your perspective, your sim setup, and your wheel base and settings in game?
what's real for one is not real for another and with only 2.5 out of 5 sense's to use on sim its very difficult to actually get the result of "real".
Earlier Akuma cars are great fun also bit the 32 on kendas drives the best in my opinion.

how to does ur camera switch depending on where ur car is pointing pls tut?
I'm not into sim drifting so I'm completely clueless, but why do car packs exist? Why not tune the standard cars? Is it better to learn in one of the standard cars or a pack car?
In AC you need to make your own cars which is tough to do so most just download packs.
@@SWARM-Mitty27 Thanks! I'll be sure to check out a car pack next time I want to do some drifting.
try the zero culture car pack
If I try to drive through a corner the rear just starts to overtake straight away even at sensible speeds. Other factors of these physics it just feels like another inaccurate take.
There will be another car pack in 2 months people will rave about again.
Nstyle packs are the most realistic imo
With the swarm pack, do I need the e-brake? With WDTS, i either use the regular brakes or clutch kick. And Gravy, I gotta use e-brake for slow sections. My E- brake is right paddle on the steering lol.
Honestly I would say it's not needed but having an ebrake as a "tool" when drifting is always helpful. For me personally, I think it comes down to the track that I'm on but certainly you can get by pretty well with just clutch kicking and left foot brake exclusively for most tracks!
Just bind the e brake to the space bar and put your keyboard next to you. At least that's how I an doing it
Set your handbrake for 98:100% on content manager so you have clutch control till that point then it'll engage have fun
I bought a wheel cause I used to love drifting with controller but damn that thing is difficult, seeing all these cool videos with people doing tandems makes me sad
calm down, you will celebrate every new thing you manage to do and that is rewarding
dont think about it too much and just get seat time
It's crazy man, I feel this comment especially when I started myself.
It's going to be harder initially than other more arcade oriented games out there!
how does this stack up to death wish garage pack? until now i found them to be the most fun, but lemme finish the dl and try these here
😎
Honestly pretty similar if I'm being honest. I'd say a bit more power and a little bit more upgraded suspension/drift steering setup than DWG but it's absolutely worth trying it out. You'll probably be the most surprised about how much grip these cars have in comparison to all the other packs including DWG that SWARM V2 has!
@@DarkTinman AYYYY you getting ma hyped here, i'll try soon
whats your view settings?
How do you get your FOV so wide on the interior cam?
Man, it's so funny that you asked this question because I didn't understand why people were asking me until recently.
In game I believe my FOV is set around 80 degrees, however since I drive on an ultrawide monitor and Twitch doesn't allow ultrawide resolution output I have to resize it within a 1080x1920 resize. This ends up making the FOV look much wider than it actually is lol
@@DarkTinman Do you use VR to get the camera to move side to side when inside?
@@geoffandtarano, he doesn't he uses neck fx which automatically turns your camera when drifting. There's a ton of videos on TH-cam on how to set it up
@@geoffandtaraAnd to change the fov just move ur cursor to the right when in a car and an app sección will pop up. Search for a racing helmet icon (forgot the name of it pretty sure is first person camera or onboard settings) then adjust the camera to your liking.
@@bobbybob3057 yeah i was using the wrong camera angle that’s why it wasn’t moving
i love swarm but its impossible to find populated eu servers. wdts would probably be my favorite if they had more grip but they are just too ice drift for my liking.
Yeah it's a bit hard on the EU side, but that said, we have a lot of people from different countries in EU or further who seem to have a decent ping and not too bad of connection. You should try jumping in sometime and see how it works with your setup!
@@DarkTinman in a lobby with you and some others last week on shadow valley and lime rock any it was actually really smooth even with a stacked lobby. TooSoonJr is my name on AC.
i’d like to get my smoke to be like yours. how did you get the smoke to not be so crazy
Not sure if you are in the Discord, but if you want to ping me or message me directly I can screenshot my CM/CSP settings for smoke that way you can see how it's setup
@@DarkTinman i’ll join the discord now!
what’s your neck fc i can’t find any that feel good
Hey no worries! Here is a link to mine!

What is the name of this map?
In order of the video :
Shadow Valley
Klutch Kickers
Lime Rock
Ebisu North Course
Another sim-cade car pack that looks and feels like all the others. Inaccurate forza models, bad shaders and physics…
What car/cars did you try?
did you even watch the video
@@midly what do you think?
@@expiringuniverse I think you didn't cos ur objectively wrong💀
@@SWARM-Mitty27 Most. As I mentioned, they feel like everything else that’s based around WDTS, which isn’t that great. The Enjoy pack is alright though.
They are ok. Not the best tho
Fair enough! What things do you think could be improved or changed? I know the SWARM guys are pretty receptive but I am also curious to hear all perspectives!
thsi is a nohesi fucking disgusting childish car pack with amazing physics
i swear the car preview images, the flames. the car ENGINE SOUNDS, the tyre screech and the turbos are THE worst ive ever heard in this game. i had to edit the e36 turbo sututu sound out because it was literally broken garbage
other than that, pretty fun pack
If you take a look at the suspension geometry, you will find a lot has changed with the front ends,
The rear end is kunos r34gtr modified and is still being worked on. The Swarm pack is a balance between real feeling based of each swarm drivers perspective, the main points of irl data that actually make a difference to physics have been added, the Tyres are completely changed from kunos v10, and although the numbers say its broken, they certainly work well and are also still being worked on.
Cheers SWARM || Mitty27.
Have you tried BDC v4
Yeah I have! I don't hate them, I just feel like I don't really have to try to hard to drift them. Sorta like passively drifting them, similar to how I feel about WDTS being a bit too passive.
Is this on consoles?
Assetto Corsa is on console but for mods like the SWARM pack it's only on PC unfortunately
Although, please adujst your FOV correctly.
Haha for the record! I have a Ultrawide monitor and have to compress the ratio into a 1080 for stream which after a few comments I've realized visually it distorts the FOV to look insane. I promise it doesn't look like that on my side!
i cant be the only one that finds these cars incredibly underpowered
Hum, curious what you are comparing them to? If you line them up with WDTS I feel like they have more power, DWG is probably the same or slightly more, and then VDC yeah probably super underpowered in comparison. That said though, I feel like this is the best representation of what cars you'd see that are consistently at track days
